8.5/10 - I had the pleasure of staying at the Silver Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Less than a 5 minute drive from Disney’s Animial Kingdom, this is a perfect stay for your next trip to Florida. It’s close to the Disney Parks. My only complaint is that the 1 bedroom did not have a washer and dryer in the room. #tiktokgo #silverlakeresortorlando #orlandoflorida #familyvacation #DisneyWorld

Drove from Michigan all the way to here, got here Sunday July 7th at 6:30pm and stayed till Saturday July 13th. Got checked in and was told to go to unit 116.. got into our unit and noticed the by the back door was trash and used towels, smaller bathroom DID NOT have a shower curtain, both shower heads in the bathrooms were completely covered in water grime, went to tell the front desk and they were very nice and apologetic and said they would send someone over to get the trash and bring us a shower curtain. Took them over 2 hrs to grab the used towels and trash and never brought a shower curtain after asking 3 times for one so we just gave up. Went to use the jetted bath tub in the master bathroom and as soon as we turned on the jets, all these yellow particles came flying out of them. We had to clean them out twice before even being able to use the tub. THEN we go to start the dishwasher before we left to Venice beach, when we got back from the beach and went to unload the dishwasher 2 FULLY GROWN cockroaches came right out of both sides of the dishwasher! We have been eating off those plates and washing them all week just to find they have live cockroaches in the dishwasher on our last night. Immediately went to the front desk and told them and even tried to show them pictures but they said “oh I believe you” as if they’ve known about a cockroach issue. I was told on the day of checkout that the GM would call. She did, but only said she’s never heard of an issue with cockroaches at their resort but would get their pest control out to the unit to check it out. I PAID OVER $1,400 and what did I get in return for all the hassle?! A lousy $45 back! This place REALLY needs to get their act together. It’s a beautiful resort but it’s units are not being managed and cleaned properly! I wouldn’t spend that much on this place again unless they get their place more managed. I can say that the front desk people were very nice and sincere about all the problems but to only get $45 after having to deal with all that hassle after spending over $1,400 is a little ridiculous.

Upon arriving at Silver Lakes Resort, my family was immediately disappointed. Our room was dirty, missing basic toiletries like toilet paper, and felt severely dated. To make matters worse, the in-room phone didn’t work, so I had to call the front desk from my cell phone just to request essentials. While they did bring the toiletries promptly, my wife still had to clean the room herself to bring it up to our standards. Customer service only truly began once the night manager, Sharon, became aware of how our stay started. After voicing our concerns, she went out of her way to provide excellent service and turn things around for us. On the positive side, the resort’s pool, movie theater, and kids’ activities were excellent. Food and beverages at the pool area were also reasonably priced. Sarah, the activities director, deserves special recognition—her energy and organization made a big difference in our stay. Honestly, if it weren’t for her and Sharon, this place would have been a total disappointment. Lastly, the location is hard to beat. With its close proximity to Walt Disney World’s parks, it’s convenient for families looking to spend most of their time in the area’s top attractions.

Started off interested in getting a Timeshare w/ Capital Vacations. They sent us to Silver Lake Resort.

The positives of going to this resort was the place was very clean, quiet, and peaceful. The pools are great and clean. They had activities for guest for free or a very low price. It's located near stores, plazas, and really good restaurants. Everything you need is a 3-10min drive away.

However, a lot of the things mentioned when signing up for this vacation that was suppose to happen... did not.

It was said check in at the resort was at 4pm. That if the members of my group attended the Timeshare tour presentation they can also receive the gift cards and other goodies for attending, that rooms came with washer and dryers.

We got to Silver Lake Resort at 11:45 am. The agent at the front desk said we could Pre-check in. As soon as there was a clean room available, we would get a call to let us in the room. We roamed around Orlando for a good while, returned at 3:45 pm. Same agent told us sorry there still was not a room available but hopefully it will be at 4pm. We sat in the car in the parking lot, returned to the lobby at 4pm, while in line, I am noticing people at the front desk who filled the same check sheet as me are getting checked in to their rooms. I go back up to desk and another agent is telling me sorry they're still cleaning our rooms. I said but we checked in this afternoon and their response was sorry this is our busiest season and they are still cleaning. Which this was crazy for me to hear, because I clearly see people who are getting checked in and the agent from Capital Vacation that booked this for me said I picked really good dates because it's slower part of their summer season since it's after July 4th but befor August.

I returned to the car, called Capital Vacations and told them what was going on while I continued to watch people w/ Check-in packages in their hands driving to their rooms. The agent from CV says sorry our manager said there's nothing we can do about it but I can request for a later check-out time. I go back to the desk at 5pm and they finally give us a room. I ask for a later check out time because of the delay and the Front Desk agent says sorry but the checkout time is still the same.

Got into the room, it was very very clean. However, it looked as if the last time it was updated was in 2006. There wasn't 1 washer or dryer in the room, which we planned for. Also, the only thing separating us from the room next to us was 2 doors.

The next day, I attended the tour with my cousin. Gabby did a great presentation & the agent Pedro did a great job showing me my timeshare package options. Unfortunately, after the check-in situation and seeing the room my thoughts on this resort and CV had changed a bit. But of course they sent other agents out showing me some other Timeshare packages. Which I explained to them it was not about the package, it was about my experience which they all seemed to ignore. On top of that I shook one of the corporate agent's hand. I realized mins later they were sick because their nose started running. And I spent the rest of trip w/ a cold starting the next day 🙄.

At the end of all this I was the only one who received a gift card. Tour Registration said the gifts are only for those who applied for the Package. I explained to her the agent at Capital vacations said if people in your group attend the tour they will get the gifts as well. The rep said well they keep all the conversations at Capital Vacations recorded. So have them to play it back and if that is what your Agent said we will honor it. Called CV and of course they told me I misunderstood. Maybe I did, but they did not seem interested in playing back the recording of my booking😒.

Lastly, when we finally checked out at 10am. About an hour later I realized left something in the room that I wanted. I rushed back to the room about 11:15 am and it was gone because the room was already half way clean 🤨😂.

I get to go to 1 more resort by CV, will update if the experience...

IN YOU FACE DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM. This is by far one of the most uncomfortable resorts I ever stayed in. We are a family that stayed in this resort because our home was DESTROYED with hurricane Milton.

I was called by a 3rd party company and I accepted because I wanted to ensure my children could be somewhere comfortable until we could figure out or next move. In addition to the damage to the home, we have no power or running water. The sales rep stated that a picture of my husband’s id would be okay because it was located somewhere in the pile of mess left in the home.

When we arrived they were more than happy to check me in, collect all the ADDITIONAL fees despite my husband not having a physical ID. The following day we went to guest services where we were greeted by the kind hearted Melissa. She attempted to honor what was communicated on the phone and allowed me to show my husbands ID on my phone until Naloni, guest services team lead (introduced herself as a manager) stated that she needed to see the front and back of my ID so we would not be able to complete the offer. This means that we would be charged market value for the stay with no cancelation. I explained that we literally just lost everything in HURRICANE MILTON, had no power and traveled from St Petersburg seeking refuge. She stated we would have to go back home and find it, no exceptions, and smirked as asked if we wanted to reschedule my timeshare presentation. She was very rude and had not one compassionate bone in her body. We also couldn’t use our Apple wallet to show that we possessed a credit card so we spent 6 driving back to st Petersburg, Fl to rummage through the dark to locate the credit card and drive back. Still no Id.

The following day the REAL supervisor Patty rectified the situation.

The supervisor at the poolside bar was condescending and had a very poor attitude. When I asked for my order to be corrected at the bar (language barrier with original bartender that took my order) the supervisor had the audacity to ask me, “so you didn’t look at your order on the receipt before you paid”. He said it as if I ordered my food incorrectly. When I told him that the cook was at the bar and he could ask what I ordered, he stated, “no, I’m not going to waste his time”.

Both toilets leak from the back when you flush.

Mountain of dirty linen we had to push to the side in front of our door when we first checked in.

No wifi signal

No working phones in the room. Reported it 4 nights in a row with a promise to resolve but never did.

Missing pieces of tiles in the living room

Broken ice maker and spatula

Torn open sugar packets for coffee

3/4 full shampoo and conditioner

When I asked for a pan (because the condo only had 2 pots) the man at the front desk in the evenings said, “we don’t have any clean pans”. Took two days to get a pan.

Lauren at the bar by the pool made me and my husband along with another family of color feel so uncomfortable after she asked us to wait for our food 2 tables away from the empty bar because she was closing soon but allowed a Caucasian couple to sit at the bar and drink. She stated she was going to be moving the chairs soon but that was 13 minutes after she asked me to move and the couple remained at the bar while she was putting the chairs away. My husband walked back to the bar to get the originally requested tartar sauce and ketchup and she said, “no you already got it”. When I opened my box and showed her it was cocktail sauce, she held out her hand for me to give her the cocktail sauce and turned around and threw it in the trash like “you won’t be having cocktail sauce AND tarter sauce on my watch”.

The culture of the staff gives me EXTREMELY prejudice/ vibes and very poor customer service ESPECIALLY to people of color. I asked two other families that was staying at the resort and they both stated that at first they thought it was in their head but they later definitely recognized the “racial undertones” and “difference in the customer service provided to them as a...

So this place location to Orlando is pretty reasonable. I did like how there was a target, shopping and stores within 5 minutes (without traffic). You're going to be sitting there for a long time waiting on the lights to turn to even turn into this place

Pros the pool was nice. There was an okay kids game room. Saw the theater did not use it but it was modest old school theater. You have to keep up with your pool towel or you'll be charge. Anything extra such as shampoo, soap, dish washer soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, conditioner, toliet paper, tissue, paper towels, if you stay there a week and use up any of this stuff do not expect them to replenish you with it.

Also we had 1 package delivered and they charged a $3 package fee. Anywhere else in the world you stay at they hold the packages for you for free. This was after my first package was rejected because they didn't have the back gate up and running.

So the first night we had the ac break, they were able to fix that. 2nd night the hot tub jets broke, they could not fix that. I had also informed them that I have found not 1 or 2 but 4 roaches in the room. They offered to change rooms for me. We were in a 2 bedroom suite where the 2nd bedroom was a separate unit that joined at the front entrance.

They switched us to another suite where the 2 rooms were in the same area sharing the living room. There was a 3rd room that shared the main door and foyer but they told me we would be by ourselves. The 2nd day in that unit they had another couple in the other suite. They kept leaving the front door to the rooms opened. Then they would have herb smelling in the area. On the 3rd day we were in that unit the front doors battery died and left us stranded outside. We had just come back from being at Aquatica all day. Not fun at all. They came to charge the door... didn't work. The security officer had to go get the door unlocking tool to get the door open.

Oh! In the second unit they obviously did not clean it like they said they do. I lysol wiped the counters the wipes turned brown yellow. There was a broken/cracked glass right in the front of the cabinet on the shelf. Both tubs had hair from the previous tenants in them 🤮 !! We also found random pills of the floor in the room. They weren't off in hard to reach areas but right in the open. Thankfully my kids are older and know not to mess with pills on the floor.

Also when calling the front desk expect to be placed on hold immediately and then wait for someone to help. The girls up front would talk to you as if you were in the wrong for even...
