We finally got our “Goldilocks” room on the third try.
Let me paint you a picture: It’s midnight, we’ve been at several Disney Parks all day, we attempted camping the night before (NOPE! Not for us…it will be memorable, I can mark camping off the ol’ bucket list), I booked this hotel at 4 am while camping that morning. I was looking for budget friendly and this hotel provided just that!
I know what I’m signing up for with budget hotels, I know this won’t be fancy. I just need a place to shower and sleep as I won’t be spending any other time there.
We check in, easy peasy, front desk woman was kind and efficient.
We unload our car and head to the room. We should have checked the room before unloading and headed to the third floor, but we were so tired.
We get to the third floor and as we’re walking my 8 year old slips in the condensation from the ACs dripping on the walk way. Every AC had a small river flowing from them. He’s ok!
Because I know what I’m getting with budget hotels I always bring Clorox wipes. First order of business is the tub, because showers and sleep are the only reason we are here. The shave clippings glued to the sides of the tub should have been the first clue that this room wasn’t going to work for us, but I wiped and cleaned the shower and just pushed on. Welp once the shower was on it I could see why there were clippings, because the tub didn’t drain. I pop out my knife and pull a huge chunk of hair out of the drain and it still wouldn’t drain. We ask for another room and we get one!
It’s torrentially raining. Wind is whipping. I’m from Florida, rain schmain! Accept this is UNREAL. We load up our stuff and push on to the next room, the overhang providing little refuge from this small hurricane. My 8 year slips again. My heart breaks for him. It’s midnight, his little feet and legs are so exhausted from the miles we’ve walked at Disney. This breaks him. He pushes on.
We enter the next room and we are hit with a wall of stench and warmth. I start looking up a different hotel. My husband goes back downstairs and asks if we are able to get a refund. We booked a non-refundable room and it’s just not an option. We get a third room. We learned and checked out the third room before bringing all of our stuff.
Third time is a charm! We enter a cold room with a neutral smell, I check to see if the tub drains. We have a winner! Also it was an upgrade to the double suite, so there is more space, which is nice!
We load up our stuff from stench room and make our way down the hall. This small “hurricane” has turned comically into a weapon of destruction. A laugh escapes my lips as we make the trek through the typhoon.
We all shower and sleep. Praise be. This room is quiet, cool, and dark. Perfect for sleeping! The shower had a working drain, perfect for showering! I slept hard the 2 nights were there.
My husband and son took advantage of the free breakfast. I loved that there was free parking and no resort fees.
We did not go to the pool during our stay.
I give this particular room 5 stars. But because of the questionable condition of the room you’ll end up with, an over 3 stars is fitting.
Would I stay here again? If I did, I would book the double suite. Basically, if I could get that particular room again, yes definitely. But the odds of getting that same room even at request is slim. So I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreAt first i was pretty satisfied with the presentation of the hotel and room. Until i went in and used the toilet. There was a ring in the toilet bowl, which i ignored. Later that night I went to give my kids a bath and the bathtub had several short hairs all over the bathtub. Behind the toilet and in the corners were very dusty and had several hairs. I didn't want clean out a bathtub on my vacation nor did i have any cleaning supplies. I was hoping the next day they would clean the bathroom and they did NOT. Housekeeping also did not leave clean washcloths. I asked the following day for them to clean the bathroom and explained to them what the issue was. I got back later that night and it was clean however it was still dusty and hairy on the bathroom floor. We also were a little uncomfortable because our AC was not very cool. It's Florida and its hot and muggy AC being nice a cool would make guests a little more comfortable. Breakfast was a nightmare! The lady running the breakfast did her very best to keep it clean and stocked. It was a very small area and very congested. When you are dealing with a lot of tourists people are in a hurry and very pushy. The last day we ended up having to go out and pay for breakfast because we have no place to sit. It was Wall to Wall packed with people and extremely busy. I was no happy about that because that was money we were supposed to save by staying at a place with breakfast. When we did get to eat the food was pretty good. I would have liked something different, we ate the same thing every morning. They also did not provide Real orange juice or apple juice, it was almost like a orange drink mix (yuck). The shuttle to and from Disney was very VERY BAD!!!! When they picked us up (last stop by the way) the bus was packed and didn't have enough seats. I was still standing in the isle when the bus took off flinging me all over. The way home was even worst. The first bus they sent at 6:45 was packed leaving the rest of us behind telling us they will send another bus. It never came so i called the hotel and they contacted the bus which stated they would not be sending another until 9:55pm. When 9:55pm came around the bus still never came and when someone called. Finally it came and once again they didn't have enough room for everyone. My family sat there for 3 hours and my children were crying. Disney was memorable but not for good reason at that point. When i told the Lady at check out about the housekeeping issues she said i should have let them know! I was floored that she said hat because i did let them know. She told me I should have asked to change rooms. I have two small children and two adults in that room, we should not have had to move. They should have sent someone to make sure the hairy bathroom was clean. No resolution was offered to us for the...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Quality Inn. I had to go to the grocery store to buy items for breakfast because all they served is a loaf of white bread, toast, old blueberry muffins, and waffles. There’s no juice, yogurt, fruit, cereal, or milk. This was quite disappointing considering the breakfast was one of the reasons I chose to stay here. As a result, I had to purchase my own breakfast items, which I couldn't even cook properly due to a malfunctioning microwave. From the moment I checked in, it was evident that this establishment had significant issues. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly front desk employee. However, the attitude and disinterest displayed by the girl who started at 3 o'clock were quite noticeable. Facial expressions can reveal a lot about a person. Although she did offer to move me due to a broken room door, I was too exhausted to relocate all my belongings. Despite her lack of enthusiasm, I maintained a polite and humble attitude towards her. I did request assistance with the room microwave and trash on two separate occasions. Wich still have not been adressed While I understand her need to focus on her tasks, there was no one else in front of her when I approached her last night. Unfortunately, she remained unresponsive and unable to crack a smile. These initial encounters set the tone for the remainder of my stay. Or so far -As I entered my room, I was shocked by the level of upgrades the hotel needs . I expressed my concerns to the front desk, Regrettably, One of my major concerns was the malfunctioning microwave , which needed attention i explained no like ghts coming on plugged in now. Onea helping me . Additionally, I had requested my room to be cleaned the previous day, but no one came to attend to it. I had to endure the inconvenience of having no fresh towels and no assistance with trash removal. The breakfast provided by the hotel was far from satisfactory and did not align with the advertised amenities on Priceline. Instead of the promised variety, it consisted of a meager offering of white bread and waffles. This was not what I expected or what was advertised. Furthermore, the photos of the hotel rooms on their website were misleading and did not accurately portray the actual conditions. The room I stayed in was in dire need of and updating, far from the inviting image depicted online. This discrepancy between the photos and reality is highly misleading and...
