Fun for the whole family!
We took an afternoon 'off' from the theme parks for some down time, and happened across the Mighty Jungle Golf Adventure. And, we were glad we did. We were a group of 5, Dad (me), the boys (10 and 12), and two Grandpas.
Very easy to arrive at off of 192, and plenty of parking (not many spots at the mini-putt itself, but it is part of a much larger parking lot which is immediately (instead of 20 steps to the gate, it might be 30 steps).
Nice welcoming hut where you pay (suggest buying the 36 holes, as you can use the second round on another day if you wish, very reasonably priced), and select your putter (many length putters available) and ball colour (again, many selections such that all 5 of us had different colours).
For the younger ones in the group, there is a story on each of the 18 hole courses which follows an adventurer on his quest (I wont' ruin anything here), but it is a great way to entertain the kids in between shots as there are several posts with updates on the adventure trek. The pond in the middle is also home to some birds, and we were lucky enough to spot some ducklings, so that helped pass the time as well.
The course itself is in good shape, and well kept. Some standard holes, and some nice challenges, but overall it is built to enjoy, and celebrate some hole-in-ones! There are a couple of spots with a 'dark jail' with some skeletons, which may frighten younger kids (it's not over the top, but if you have any anxious kids, you can stand in front of the 'jail door' and block their view if need be, just wanted to share).
Bring/wear sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and bring something to drink. Not much shade at all, so be warned that it can be quite hot depending on the time of day you arrive. We were there around lunch time, and it perfect timing, as it was quite quiet. But, when passing by other times, we noticed it can become quite busy.
Overall, kids getting pictures with each of the animals (yes, each and every one), and some fun putting, it was a great day. So great, that we have now gone back each time we visit Orlando (and twice in the same trip sometimes).
Hope you have a great adventure as...
Read moreA few days ago we (my girlfriend and I) felt like a round of puttputt. We had a Groupon for this venue, 12$ for unlimited play and an icecream at the end. Pretty good deal! The venue itself wasn't hard to find, has a few parking spaces curbside in front of the entrance and lots more just across. The entrance/cashier hut was clean and inviting, like the courses were. The lake in the middle of the venue and its shore could be cleaner. The other reviews already pointed out that there are two courses. We didn't find too much of a difference but we spotted two holes that seemed to be an exact copy of each other (find the apple shaped bump holes). We really thought the architect ran out of ideas. Coming back to the venue itself: Very nice, clean "greens", no worn out putting areas. As we played a huge rainstorm came in so that we took shelter under one of the many roofs with benches - those came in pretty handy at that time! All around the park the soothing sound of african bass drum music lying in the air like a lullaby. Not really exciting, but VERY calming, we liked it. We didn't see the restrooms, so we cannot review those. The course wasn't really challenging for us, we played each course twice and we were well below par - ok, we are super competitive. The likelihood of coming back to that venue is a 7-8 out of 10. Definately...
Read moreSuch an adorable little mini golf place! Really, it’s just as good as going to a Pirates Cove or those other more expensive mini golf courses, and this one is still fairly close to I-Drive and all the action of Orlando. The theme of African countries and a group of explorers trying to make their way is pretty fun, they have little signs all throughout the course that explains the journey as you go, and they have some interactive things to do too and it’s really just so great. Plus, the prices here are just fantastic. I think we paid maybe $10 per person for the first course, and if you wanted to do the second one right after it’s only an extra $2 per person, so it’s almost dumb not to just do it! And we did, of course, because we enjoyed the first course so much that it didn’t feel complete not doing the next one too. And the workers were just so sweet. They also have bathrooms and a water fountain. This place was such a joy and I will happily come back, if you want a good fun mini golf place...
