BEWARE: For a luxury resort it is certainly lacking in providing a worry-free vacation. I have stayed at many resorts over the last 20 years and never have I encountered such poor customer service and hidden fees. My family choose this resort (even though it cost more than other’s we looked at) because of all the amenities it offered. 3 bedroom/4 bath condo with full kitchen, outdoor kitchen with BBQ and a hot tub. On arrival it appeared to be a perfect choice. The unit was as stated on the website until we realized that there were no dish towels, pot holders, measuring cups, measuring spoons, no BBQ brush, Kleenex, 1 roll toilet paper per bathroom, one small bar of soap per bathroom. In all the resorts I have stayed at with a full kitchen these were considered basic items for the unit plus you at least got a couple of toilet paper rolls and a bar of soap for the shower, a box of kleenex as well as there was always a BBQ brush to use at the BBQ. When you contact the front desk, you are told that these items are not supplied, but you can purchase additional toilet paper for $1 per roll and pay $50 to have the BBQ cleaned. They surprised us with deliver of a dish towel. On check out they say to avoid cleaning fees to put out the trash, leave towels in bathroom, and return any furniture to its original spot. Also, on the website it states that cleaning fees maybe applied to any stay less than 6 days. We also had an issue with the hot tub not heating, and when we called the front desk, we were told that it was because of the cool temperatures at the time, that it was to late in our stay to do anything (we had 4 nights left). The lady at the front desk was not helpful at all and said that hot tubs in Florida work differently than the ones in Canada. A day and half later this issue was resolved but not without many discussions with the front desk. Communication is an issue as well because of the language difference. Everyone says they do not speak English. Our stay was for 8 days, took out our trash, left towels as instructed and all furniture was in its correct place. We also took a video of our unit on leaving for our records On returning home, this resort has charged a $240.00 cleaning fee, $140.00 cleaning fee for the patio, $50 cleaning fee for the BBQ, and $100.00 hot tub maintenance fee as well as $3.50 for delivery of the dish towel. These fees were never mentioned at the time of check- in at the resort or is it stated on the website that there will be an additional charge for using the hot tub, BBQ and unit. If I wanted to clean a house I would have stayed home. The Wyndham corporation has dropped the ball on this resort. It definitely does not have the standard of customer service or customer experience that I grown to expect at a Wyndham resort. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. These hidden fees are...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER! PS I sent you my contact information weeks ago as you asked in a comment. Thank you for nothing. Just making it look like you solving something. We booked 3 weeks in advance. You can imagine - after all the preparation, planning, packing - just how bad we felt when that was all ruined. It was supposed to be our Christmas and New Year celebration I called The Magic Village in advance to find out if we could bring our emotional support dog. And I was told - YES. It was the only reason I called in advance - to make arrangements if they would say no. But according to the front desk, the woman that I spoke with made a mistake, and nobody would to take responsibility for it. So there we were at 10:00pm with our dog trying to check in after a long days work. Instead of the start of a much needed mini-vacation, we were greeted with THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE that we've ever experienced. Basically 2 girls who didn’t introduce themselves and refused to give up their names once the issue was known. They said they would not check us in and made us wait without telling us why. Eventually we found out one of them had called their manager. Once off the phone with the manager she repeated that we could not stay with the dog. We reminded her that their own employee assured us that we could and asked what solution could they offer to resolve their mistake - they said - “that’s our solution, you can't stay, it's the law...it’s the law”. In case anyone from The Magic Village is reading this review, I would like to state that "The Law" allows you to turn down guests with non-service animals, not that the law obligates you to turn pets away. There is a difference. To top it off, the front desk agent even told us that it's not the first time that someone is told emotional support dogs are ok only to be turned away at the desk! Oh, really? And you did NOTHING to prevent it from happening again and have zero solutions for when it does? She even told us that as Wyndham Rewards members we should have known that only service animals, not emotional support animals were allowed. But it was our first time as Rewards Members, thanks for the “GREAT” first experience. At that point my husband gave up and said he would drive off and figure out what to do with the dog, we have relatives that live in Clermont and he figured he could take the dog there. To which she responded that she would have to sporadically check our room during our stay to make sure we didn't keep the dog. REALLY?! That was the last...
Read moreWe LOVED staying at this property. My husband and I wanted something different to celebrate our 40th birthdays this year so we decided to find something a little more comfortable rather than a typical smaller hotel space near the Disney World resorts/parks. This property is mere minutes from the parks as well as close to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping (if needed like Target). Not only was the property super clean and maintained it was quiet, gated and felt like being at home rather than in a busy and noisy hotel. We also had dinner reservation plans fall through one night at the parks but the in house restaurant on property was easy to book last minute and was fantastic!
When we arrived check-in was quick and the staff was awesome! We got to our unit and upon walking in it looked just like the pictures and better. Everything was so clean and the place was huge definitely bigger than I thought it would be. Even though it was just the 2 of us it was nice to have multiple bathrooms so if we had to hurry and shower to make dinner reservations after coming back from the parks it was a great perk!
Other things to note are that we had access to our own in unit washer and dryer so we were able to wash clothes we wore all day at the park as well as towels instead of opting for the cleaning option the property had. It worked out great the only thing we ended up going out to buy that we forgot to bring was extra toilet paper which was easy to grab with a CVS right up the street. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/utensils etc., but we really only needed the full size fridge for leftovers, drinks and snacks. There was also a grill and hot tub outside behind the unit. We didn't use them this time around but it was nice to sit out there in the evenings when it cooled off. They also pick up the trash daily from a trash container right outside so that was nice as well instead of it piling up or having to drive it somewhere on property. If I had to say only one thing that was a little bit of a bummer was the TV situation where it was pretty much just standard cable which makes sense because you don't really spend to much time on property if you are there primarily for Disney/Universal or other outside activities but for those who like seeing their weekly shows it might be a good idea to bring a laptop along.
All in all we would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for more of a home like quiet comfortable feel...
