Our last night of an epic family Christmas vacation we decided on a seafood dinner and ended up at the Juicy & Crab. We were greeted and seated immediately and I was a little skeptical seeing only 3 other tables on a Saturday night. Boy was I waaaay off! Meals are served in a steamer bag on a tray to dump all of your perfectly cooked crustaceans and other goodies onto. Now when I say perfectly cooked…I am talking the biggest juiciest shrimp that the shell practically falls off of, snow crab with perfectly snappy shells that crack with ease giving you that satisfaction of pulling out a whole piece of delicately sweet meat to drag thru the tastiest mud puddle of butter and spices! I highly recommend the popping sauce medium if u like heat that keeps you diving back in for more. Ugh the King crab….no words! All meals are served with baby potatoes and corn on the cob with options to add other sides such as white rice or hush puppies. Beyond the best darn seafood dinner I have EVER had was the service…they were so friendly and treated us like we were VIP guests somewhere fancy, drinks were kept full the GM stopped by to chat and we could not have asked for a better experience. We spent right at $200 for what I’m guessing is to be about 8.5 lbs of the juicy AND THE CRAB plus drinks and a couple of sides for 3 adults. If you’re looking for an amazing seafood experience with a casual atmosphere that won’t break the bank don’t miss this gem of a spot!! We WILL BE BACK! All the way from Iowa, thank u Juicy & Crab for the best night of our trip! I can’t believe I didn’t take a single pic...
Read moreWe are from Wisconsin and come down to FL for vacation often. Our first choice has always been Joes Crab Shack. But, after reading the yelp reviews for Joes Crab Shack, we decided to give this place a try.
Food was great! Would absolutely come here again just for the Cajun Dungennes crab. Got the fire spice level and was not overly spicy. Had a good kick, makes your nose run but it's tolerable. With all that being said, you're probably wondering why I gave it 2 stars...
I'm not one to b** about customer service, but the service at this place was just...annoying. We walked in on Wednesday with 7 people. We knew going into it that there would be a bit of wait for us as we did walk in with 7, which we weren't worried about. We figured we'd have a drink at the bar while we waited. Well, for those 20 minutes, we waited and waited while they told us they'd be with us in a minute. We never got to order because they never asked us. It felt like they didn't want to serve us until we were at our table even tho the bar was not busy at all. Which was weird. After getting seated and waiting another 15 minutes to order, we finally got our drinks. Throughout our dinner, we'd ask for simple things like an extra plate or crab crackers, and they just never came. The staff seemed overwhelmed. Maybe we just hit a bad night, idk. But again, I never really complain about customer service because I get it, I've had bad nights serving or bartending but this just seemed like it was an actual staff issue.
All in all, good food, poor...
Read moreOrdered take out for a pound n a half of shrimp, definitely did not get that amount (much less n more potatoes than what was supposed to come with it). I’ve eaten seafood boils over 50 times, I know what a pound and a half feels and looks like. When I called that night after I got home, the manager reassured me they could remake my order and the cook probably did mess up, because the number of corn n potatoes was inconsistent. Then when I get there the day after for the replacement a cook insists I’m incorrect n he made my order correctly. He barely let me speak and now is only remaking half a pound. Im only 5 feet tall and he’s a grown man, probably why he dismissed me So easily. I’m not asking for anything more than what I paid for n what the manager promised me. Overall the staff is rude from my experience n not customer friendly. I witnessed waitresses complaining about seating a table 45 min before closing and not adding condiments. As for the shrimp itself, it was cooked well and had a good texture, but I did get the hottest level with the popping sauce. It was not spicy in the least, and this is not the garlicky seafood boils, so if you’re into that I do not recommend. I did pay $31 dollars for a pound and a half, but the flavor wasn’t there either, could just be the sauce though. Overall this place had really good reviews, but it’s definitely not all that or...
