This hotel has always been great; I live out of state and I've stayed here several times over the past few years whenever I visit GJ. So I didn't hesitate to book it for four nights when my friend and I came to see Ringo Starr earlier this month. Unfortunately, this stay was terrible thanks to the musty, dank air conditioning units in the rooms. I'm allergic to mold (it triggers asthma), so the first night, I barely slept. The second room they moved us to was not much better. The third night, we decided not to use the AC and opened the window, which improved the air quality, but it was too hot to sleep. Over the course of our four night stay I became more and more sleep deprived to the point where I almost fell asleep at the wheel on the drive home. And the whole reason we had come to town--to see Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, a once in a lifetime thing for me--I spent the show in a sleep deprived haze. I have been a Ringo fan since I was 3 so this was a huge bummer. Not to mention all the things I didn't have energy to do while I was in town and really needed to get done (I live in a place with hardly any clothes shopping available, and usually get my hair cut in GJ--did not have the energy to do either). After always having such a good experience with this hotel--it is reliably safe, quiet, affordable--having this trip we'd looked forward to all summer ruined by something as simple as them not properly servicing the air conditioners really sucked. Otherwise it's a good little hotel for the money, but if you are sensitive to poor air quality, you might want to check out the room and the air conditioning unit before you book. ...
Read moreI would give no stars if I could. I have been a choice member since 2018 and never had a problem using these hotels, however for the first time I decided to use my points for a 2 night stay here. I still had to give a card for deposit just in case of damages. Always do this and never had a problem before. So I check out and then realize 2 days later I am being charged 100 dollars. I call and ask why that is and get told that I smoked in the room and there was ash found and such. I am like there is no way I don't smoke for one and two only other ppl staying with me were my kids so wth happened. I am not sure what happened and when I called to speak to the management Lucy she wasn't listening then proceeded to try and say that we were lucky we weren't charged for staining some sheets and i was like that makes no sense how did we stain sheets and she said they were pink, I know I didn't smoke in the room as I ain't a smoker and there is no way we stained sheets pink either it seems that they were just trying to find things to charge me for to recoup their money as I used points for my stay. This is wrong and I will never be staying here ever again. I also already reported this place and management to corporate as well as I may decide to end my choice membership as well! This is now being investigated. Poor management and just plain out bad business to be doing members like this. Update - saying the room was smoked in and not providing actual evidence either allowed me to dispute this with my bank. So no loss to me, just hope that this place doesn't further screw other ppl over in the future and this stops and get caught sooner...
Read moreWe stayed two nights, separately, as we were traveling from Colorado to Utah and back. The first night was uneventful, quiet, and pretty typical. The second night we ended up in a room above the pool and we could hear kids screaming and splashing. I recommend getting another room if you end up above the pool and plan on going to bed before 10 pm, which is when the pool closes. We had a baby and a toddler so we were in bed quite early and could even hear it over our white noise machine. The breakfast had a lot of variety, but only a few hot/cooked options if that's what you like. There was bagels, yogurt, cereals, a small waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage, apple juice, milk, coffee, and more. Overall, our stays were pretty much as expected for a hotel at this price. However, a couple days later I saw a mysterious $16 charge on my account. I had to call to ask what it was about, because we didn't take or damage anything, so I had no idea what I was being charged for. When I called and found out it was about a missing pillow, and I said we didn't take a pillow, she said she would credit the charge back to us. A week later, it hadn't been credited yet, so I called again and she insisted that she issued the credit, and just to wait a little longer. More than a month went by and still no credit came through, so I had to dispute the charge through my credit card company. I probably wouldn't have bothered to write a review if it weren't for this instance. If you stay here, keep an eye on...
