Reliance Mine Saloon — Restaurant in Gettysburg

A gem I happened to find while staying at the Colton hotel. The locals had told me about this place. It was awesome staying near by didnt have to drive, just walk. Was visiting from California. I had the one of the best long islands ice tea. Several in fact. bar tender was very nice to have a conversation with. The icing on the cake is when she introduced me to William Fransinito the local historian he was such a gentleman. He was more than willing to sign my personal book that he published. Will cherish it as long as I live. Atmosphere was great. I was by myself so I cant say If service was bad, but for me it was excellent and prompt. Also got to meet two confederate reinactors husband and wife. I was there in July. Unfortunately cannot remember there names. We saw a sign from the road for this place and decided to check it out. The entrance is really cool and looks like a door too a mine. The hall is really cool and looks like a mine shaft.This is definitely not a fancy establishment. So if that's what your expectations are it's not the place for you. The prices are amazing. You won't find cheaper drinks anywhere else in town. We ordered a beer and mixed drink and it was around $8. We also stumbled upon some locals that are known to frequent this establishment. I will leave it at that. If you give it a visit you will understand.Wonderful experience really cool place. The bar tender had dreads almost down to his feet. Fun, little place to find. Went Friday night and the bartender was fantastic!! I think her name was Cindy. Really great with making drinks, friendliness and attentiveness to her customers. Went back Saturday night, a completely different experience. Funny how your service determines that. Can't tell you the bartenders names cuz they were too busy on their phones or talking to each other. I'm gonna go ahead and make an assumption that they're dating, guessing by their behavior towards each other. Not friendly at all. No greeting, no conversations with any customers, no smiles, not even a thank you. They made you feel like you were a bother and interrupting their night. We'll go back again when...
