Historic Weber-Schulte Guest House — Hotel in Hermann

The location is ideal, as it is a very short walk to pretty much every attraction in Hermann. The house itself is quaint, definitely old, and does have some charm. The downsides are that many of the doors are difficult to use (don’t stay closed, drag on the floor, etc.) and the room layout is unusual to say the least. In order to reach the kitchen from the master bedroom, one has to walk through the living room and both of the other bedrooms. The other option is to walk outside across a patio. That isn't bad during the day, but in the rain at night, not so much. Rooms are very small and close quartered. Door ways are very short. These are things that are relatively common in older houses, but not illustrated in the advertising for this rental. Bedding was semi-okay. The requirement to hand wash all dishes, strip all bedding, etc was rather out of the ordinary and unexpected.

All in all: good location, okay accommodation.

As the owner continues to press things further: The pillow cases for the king bed have holes in them. The door for the bathroom closest to the king bedroom doesn't merely drag on the floor; have a go at it and see. I'm blown away that others haven't reviewed the house honestly. We visited the Weber-Schulte Guest House with friends from the East Coast. We thoroughly enjoyed the home it was so comfortable with a nice kitchen, bedrooms, living room area and also a very neat game room stocked with games. The outdoor area is beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed the local wine that we had purchased while in Hermann. The owners are wonderful to work with and was sure to let us know all the specifics about the home. This home is beautiful! Our family enjoyed staying at it for the Maifest. It was the perfect location to walk to the festivities.
