As all the other reviews have said, this is a great little gem. I can't express how happy I was to get a room like this.
I love the nostalgia of the property. It reminded me of a hotel I stayed at on historic route 66, only a little more modern with the decor. The furnishings were tasteful and pleasing to the eye. The room was almost exactly as pictured during the reservation process. Yes, the room was small. I'd prefer to call it cozy and very comfortable. It was super clean and well taken care of. It did have a slightly musty smell when I first entered, I think due in part to the A/C setting. I lowered it a bit and came back later after I went out for dinner and didn't notice it again. It was much quieter than I would have thought, and I slept very well. The shower pressure and temp were good. The only thing I would say negative about it, is the height of the shower head. I'm only slightly over 5' 9" tall and if you are standing about 6" away, it sprayed on my lower chin. So, for taller fellas you'll have to stoop down a bit to wash your hair. Everything else about the room was better than expected.
The only real negative aspect from MY point of view, was the lack of actual interaction with the staff. I'm very old fashioned and not into all this technological stuff. I prefer to talk to people face to face in this type of transaction. Andie was extremely communicative and friendly via text. However, I didn't once see her or a staff member. I had hoped I would catch her or someone at the office either at the time of my arrival, or at checkout the following morning. Considering these times were pretty much set, I thought I would have the opportunity. However, the office was closed each time. I had some questions about the local cuisine and attractions, and I discovered I needed an iron due to an oversight mistake on my part. Since I don't do texting, it was a bit of an inconvenience for me. But that's just me! As I said, I'm old fashioned I like talking to actual people not machines.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. I know I will be checking back with them again the next time I'm in the area. I just hope to meet Andie in...
Read moreWe came down to Hot Springs for anAaron Lewis concert at Oaklawn. We were able to get this room for a great price for the four of us. Although everyone was questioning my choice when we pulled up, they quickly changed their thoughts. The room was very clean and smelled like fresh linens. Love the retro look, I’m happy to see these old places refurbished and used. The room was very simply decorated but so cute! There were little tables and chairs outside of each room. Neighbors were friendly. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I felt very safe there. If I had two complaints though, the beds were not super comfortable. If they had some mattress foam toppers or possibly some mattresses in a box that are comfy, it would help tremendously! I’ll be back if I go back to HS if they get those! The neighbor a couple of doors down bought her a mattress cushion since she’ll be there about 3 days. She said she couldn’t take it after the first night. Also have two pillows for each person since they were fairly flat, there were only three per bed. Overall though a very nice retro place that I’d...
