Looking for an Indy hotel with a pool? The drury inn has it! The rooms are nice, but the best part is their snack hour (why is it called snack when it’s full meal if hot dogs, Mac n cheese, pulled pork, salad bar, etc) drink tickets, and breakfast. If my friends and family are visiting Indianapolis they always like staying here to avoid the downtown traffic and get a great deal. Favorite Indy hotel for being practical #druryinn #indyhotels #indianapolishotels #visitingindy #TikTokGOStay

Not only do they feed you a hot breakfast buffet, but also a hot buffet of "snacks" that generously suffice as dinner at their "kickback" each evening along with 3 free alcoholic drinks (mixed strong here!) from a varied albeit limited menu from their staff bartenders. We stayed for the week & felt at home (& gained weight from the good food, no doubt), as most of the staff, invluding managers, were kind & hospitable, so we will most likely return. This Castleton/Fishers, IN location was super convenient & surprisingly mostly quiet although on an incredibly busy street, across from a large hospital, & with some major road-construction projects all around next to it. Nonetheless, still fairly easy access to the I-465 freeway loop & other surface streets for handy commuting to Lawrence, Fishers, Carmel, or Noblesville areas. Not a pedestrian-friendly area, though, lacking any walkable areas for meandering as safe sidewalks, crosswalks, & pedestrian-friendly anything seem to be rare concepts in this part of Indy unfortunately. We definitely will need to make time next time to utilize their well-equipped fitness center (it smelled brand new like fresh rubber flooring was just installed) and the indoor/outdoor pool. The indoor jacuzzi hot tub worked well, was of decent size, stayed busy after evening kickback, & was refreshingly relaxing albeit highly chlorinated; overall, a welcome relief for lymphedema issues. The rooms were sufficiently clean ... upon arrival. Housekeeping staff were unobtrusive, respectful if you did not want disturbed, yet otherwise available most days to refresh your room, I guess; however they did not communicate so well at this location & apparently would not step foot into the room if you were present, only handing me a stack of fresh towels at the door (& toilet paper etc. only upon request) when they finally stopped by in the afternoon. We stayed the week, yet they never cleaned (even when I had wanted them to, as living in one room for a week at a time gets dirty more than a house!), because I remained in the room during the day (working/training remotely while my spouse worked locally). Queen beds were comfy & supportive while a tad bit on the soft side, but fortunately one was firmer than the other ... as usually tends to be the case in the 2-queen rooms, same as with their plethora of pillows, so that you have options. The military rates extended to veterans are also very much appreciated & make this luxury possible for us! We now always check for a Drury first for any travel plans!

I really don't like giving out bad reviews to businesses I love, but out of all the Drury Hotel's I have stayed at this one was a bad experience. First of all we bought a suite for our family to come over and visit with us. You guys need new furniture and new beds. My mother, who has a bad back, couldn't enjoy herself or get a good night's rest. Two. The morning of our reservation to your place to be over with was the worst experience I ever had. We asked for a late check out at 2:30 pm. My mom was having a liver biopsy, and we had a dog with us who couldn't go into the hospital. We had to wait until her precudure was over to check out. That whole morning, I thought I'd get some shut eye. Your cleaning crew kept knocking on our door. I had the door locked, but she still tried to get in. After a while, I took the lock off cause I knew my father would be coming in to get me. She comes in a 3rd time without any warning. I tell her what time I'm checking out, and she couldn't understand me. Please, if you are going to hire Mexicans, make sure they know how to speak English. We were both getting frustrated with each other cause we both couldn't understand each other. She finally leaves. My dog had to go outside to do her business. I come back, and you all locked me out. This is about an hour and a half before the checkout time. I go back downstairs to ask why my room key doesn't work, and you all said it automatically locks at 1. That shouldn't happen if you put the checkout time on the key card. I'm not sure what is happening with your employees, but you all need to sync better on customer's checkout times. 3rd shift needs to tell first shift what's going on. You need to hire better cleaning staff to learn English as well, that was so unacceptable. You guys gave us a little bit of a refund, which is fine, but this had to be said. Also, the last thing I want to tell you all is we did find some hair that wasn't ours in the bathroom, which is not a huge deal, but then my dog found a fake nail inside the couch. Please tell your cleaning staff to do better cleaning the rooms. I wasn't going to make such a big deal about it, but since it's been such a bad experience, I needed to put that in this review as well. The room overall was nice. I will say that, but it just needs a makeover.

Things we liked:

It was very clean.

The food selection was good

Free popcorn and drinks were a nice touch.

Beds were comfortable.

Things we disliked: The pool is too small, and a bit cold since it's connected to the outdoor pool. There were often 30-40 kids in the pool and you could barely walk, let alone swim.

There is only 1 set of elevators for a 9 story hotel. The line for the elevator was very long every time.

The power went out shortly while we were there. We were safely in our room but heard another family talking in the lobby that the elevator dropped while they were in it. I realize this could happen anywhere, but that's still frustrating and the power outage wasn't addressed at all. Who knows why it happened or if it could happen again? I felt uncomfortable using the elevator afterward.

The 2 room suite has issues with temperature. The bedroom gets very cold, while the living room is very hot. It's hard to get either room a reasonable temperature.

The main reason we cannot recommend this hotel though is that the worker during dinner kept yelling at kids while refilling the food. First, he was yelling at a kid to quit pumping the empty nacho cheese, because it needed refilled. The kid didn't hear him, so the worker stomped over and yelled at the kid for not waiting. Then the worker wanted to refill the salsa, and he shoved my son out of the way with his arm and said "Can you please move?!" He never even said excuse me or asked us to move first or we would have. I tried to speak to the manager afterward, but there were 10 people in line to check in and the manager was working the desk all alone and was too busy to talk without me waiting in a very long line with 3 young kids. It is NEVER okay to put your hands on a minor.

I do feel bad for the workers. It was spring break. It was very busy at dinner, and they appeared short staffed. I understand being flustered, but you cannot push a minor out of the way; you simply say excuse me. (FYI: All of the other staff members were very kind and polite during our stay).

Because of this experience, I cannot recommend the hotel. I could look past a small pool and a busy elevator, but that poor experience just ruined it all for us.

Edited to add: The GM reached out to us after I posted this review to resolve the issue. Just wanted to...
