If you don't want to read our story, here's the list, but it is a long one:
Door to the room did not lock. We slept with a chair blocking the door. The room, including the bathroom had NEVER been cleaned. Not never, as in from the previous guest, but NEVER as in they renovated the room, and it had not been cleaned even once. There was urine all over the floor and the toilet. The shower tile had clumps of dirt and grease. The bathroom door did not close. NO TOILET PAPER. Also no toilet paper holder. There was construction debris slathered on the floor. There were holes in the hallway walls, where fire extinguishers would go. There was a piece of plywood partly covering an open window in the hallway, where wind and rain were coming in. There was blue painters tape on the doors to mark the suite numbers. The room was full of dust. Leaving us sick. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER. The room had a sofa bed. It had never been opened before, so the memory foam mattress was still in shrink wrap. When we took off the shrink wrap, the mattress remained in its folded shape. They didn't provide bed linens. When we asked the manager, he gave us a pile of sheets. No blankets. When we checked out the next day, the manager said she would give us a refund. Our CC statement arrived and she didn't. We called Hilton corporate and they couldn't get the hotel on the phone. They're now mailing us a check.
If you're thinking of staying here, at least wait until you confirm, in person, that the construction is complete. And after it is done, understand if this is how they operate, are you going to risk how they will take care of you?
This place is a nightmare. It reflects poorly on the Hilton brand that they continue to operate this unsafe, unclean, and unfinished hotel. Yes, it's under construction. Excuse the mess. But the rooms they were giving people were themselves under construction.
We checked in at night. Our reservation was for two beds. When our key didn't work the manager came up and got the door unlocked, only to discover there was only one bed. So he moved us down the hall to a room that was still under construction. There was debris, including sharp wire trimmings, gypsum, paint chips and dust all over the place.
He told us this was the only room they had left. We made our reservation six months prior! If they knew it was this bad, they should have just sent us to another Hilton hotel. The next day we checked out and moved ourselves to another one. Same flag.
The door to the room did not lock. And with the keys not working, we slept with a chair blocking the door. After we left, we were told by one of our teammates that when they went to go into their room, there was another family already sleeping in it!
Thank god we brought Clorox wipes, because the bathroom was filthy. We had to clean the toilet, sink, floor, and shower before we could use them. There was a dirty empty bottle on the shelf. And once we did, there was no hot water. Our teammates said they would run the faucets for five minutes, to get rid of the brown water.
One night was more than enough, so we checked out and moved to another Hilton property nearby. It had none of these problems, and had plenty of availability. Why they bothered to try to run this hotel, makes no sense. They should have just cancelled the reservations, and moved the guests to the other hotel.
And when we complained at check out, the manager said she would credit us the cost of the night. Weeks later when our credit card statement arrived, the charge was still there. We called corporate and they said they would mail the credit. If they don't, expect us to follow up on this review. Is it possible to remove...
Read moreIMPORTANT TO READ IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE!!! We (4 girlfriends) booked (prepay was cheaper than members price) two double- adjoining rooms in this hotel while in Indy for a concert the end of June (in April). We arrived at the hotel around 3:00 (June 26th). The person running the front desk not-so-promptly told us of “the issue”. The hotel was “overbooked”. There were no double rooms available, much less adjoining. He ran all over the hotel trying to find clean rooms. When he finally came back he said we could each have single rooms on three separate floors (just what four women in the city want). We were not too happy about this until he said he would give them to us for free. We asked (several times) if we would receive a refund for what we had already paid and he confirmed that we would (we had not, after all, received what we paid for). In what seemed like forever, he finally had a key to ONE room. We put all of our stuff in one room and told him we were going next door to eat and would pick up the other three keys when we got back (we needed to get ready to go to the concert). We had already nixed the plan to get ready, go eat, and then go straight to the concert. Let me correct that: the hotel nixed it for us!!! When we returned at 5:30 (please note that ww arrived at 3:00 and the restaurant we went to was right next door) he had not even started to process the other three rooms. Needless to say our fun girls weekend equated to us standing in a lobby, getting ready for the concert in 10 minutes and coming back to 4 separate rooms on 3 floors. BUT, THE BEST WAS YET TO COME!!! When we checked out and asked about the refund the current clerk said they could not give it to us and the guy the night before did not have the authority to promise us anything like that. They said they would contact the manager and she would call that afternoon. We received no call. The next morning I called hilton directly. They give me a few extra points and said they needed yo contact the hotel and that it was in their hands. I have yet to hear anything!! Ive been a rewards member for many, many years and have never been treated this way. BEWARE OF STAYING IN THIS...
