Superior Grocers — Local services in Inglewood

Attempted to purchase a cake at approximately 533pm I waited for about 5mins I began saying "HELLLOOOOOOO is anyone working " I walked over to the cashier area asking if the bakery was open I spoke loud enough for all 3 of the associates to hear me 2 female and 1 male one female just looked while the other continued at the ATM or some type of kiosk Shrugging her shoulders. The male stated out loud. I don't know if the bakery is open Mind you neither of the 3 of them decided to walk over to assist.I walked back over to the bakery. Still no one showed up. One associate finally came at approximately 547pm and stated that the cashier must have been on her break. She was unable to assist me with my purchase. Saying she didn't know what was what? I walked back over to ask for the store manager. And I was directed to register 2 and it was the same associate that shrugged her shoulder. I then asked her. Why didn't she assist me when I asked her first? Not knowing that she was the supervisor she was really bitter and rude and stated. I'm not the manager, I'm the supervisor. I can't believe her customer service she was Not helpful.Didn't care If I purchased anything or not I did inform her as a customer if we don't shop you...

This grocery store is right around the corner from my home so it's conveniently located. Actually, I try not to go to Superior for several reasons. First, there are many items that I use on a regular basis but superior doesn't carry them. That in itself irritates me to the max. 🤨 Their produce is often hit and miss when it comes to taste, flavor and sweetness (fruit). Although the store is very clean and the staff is friendly, there is always one line open and it's usually quite long. Irritating! At one point, the manager told me they were allowing people to return items (because of Covid) which I thought was absolutely ridiculous when I was returning an item that was in a jar that obviously hadn't been opened. Parking is also a hit and miss depending on which day of the week you decide to go. All and all, I really don't like superior. I only go there when I'm too lazy to go further down the street to the other grocery store that has just about everything I need and use regularly. Now that I'm writing this review, I'm realizing that the other store isn't that...

Had to stop at the store today on my way home and decide to take a chance at Superior Grocers on Crenshaw and Imperial. I haven't been to a Superior in over 12 to 15 years. Just didn't like their presentation on the food, cleanliness, or customer service. And to my amazement and pre judging the store, I was shocked. In awwww at how clean it was as soon as I entered the store. Produce dept was clean and a gentle man was cleaning the area where the produce sits. I told him that I was impressed at everything. He thank me and gave me a smile. Reach the cash register and the place where you put your food to pay for was clean. I just couldn't believe it. And to top it off the Young Lady, Michelle (cashier was very friendly). I had to talk to manager and tell him what I thought. He was very grateful for the good review. Well I am a Sam's Club, Vons, Albertsons and Ralph's shopper, but I plan on stopping here more often. Best...
