Sent the following to corporate three times after our 12/22 visit before I received a response.
I was at your Kids Empire in Johnstown yesterday morning. Your supervisor Angelina was unwilling to assist in rectifying the issue I had with your play card. I asked Angelina before purchasing the play card what each “flame” was for. She told me two minutes. I clarified further and asked if that means each flame is two minutes for the motor cycles and she said yes. I then purchased the card along with 24 flames. After 4 turns (we have 6 kids with us) it stopped working. I then went to tell Angelina, thinking it was a glitch, who said I had to pay more to reload it because the motorcycles actually only give you 2 minutes for 5 flames. I asked why she gave me inaccurate information and she said she did not know, she just says whatever the customer wants to hear so they’ll go away. I asked her to please comp one or two rides so all the kids could go as a show of good faith since admitted she knowingly gave me the wrong information. She said no, she could not help me because policy is no refunds, nothing for free. Can you please explain why you have supervisors in a position of authority who do not know or don’t care to be honest about your pricing policies and do not have the authority to fix a mistake? I asked to speak with a manager and I was told they were not allowed to give out the managers information. I was given this email and your supervisor would not even tell me the name of the manager. I’d also like to note that the two girls working (Angelina and another girl) spent the entire time in the back room. They could not see when people came in or when people needed to get in and out of the gate. Every customer had to wait and the girls were annoyed every time they had to let one in or out. Not once were they available and up front to assist when anyone in our group needed to go to and from the lockers. Is it your policy that your employees hide in the back room? This was our first visit to your establishment and most likely our last. With so many similar competing indoor playgrounds to choose from, there is no reason to return to a place where the staff is absent, not knowledgeable, rude and unwilling to do their job.
Corporates Response:
We thank you for taking the time to reach out to us, we have started a ticket to address this issue. Please allow our guest relations department time to review and be in contact with you for additional information. We look forward to hosting you very soon.
It should come as no surprise that corporate never did any follow up on this. This place is way too overpriced to be staffed with such unfriendly employees. Go literally anywhere else: Lil Monsters in Windsor or Wellington, Jumpin in Loveland, Rouge Play in Greeley, Urban Air or Fly High in Fort Collins all are such a...
Read moreSo, it's mid. I'm mentally comparing to other indoor play areas near Loveland like Jumpin', Rogue Play (Greeley), Urban Air (Ft. Collins) and the Greeley Mall. Here are my thoughts:
The price point is middle of the road at $20/kid/day with two adults per kid getting in free The location is great for Loveland, closer than any other option Seating area, ambient noise, and Wi-Fi are better than average and you could legitimately get work done here if you needed to The food policy is a big minus. No outside food/drink, and they don't sell meals. You can get junk food snacks, but that's it. I think $20 is a fair price for a long play session, but realistically kids need a meal after playing for just a couple hours and having to leave, eat, and return is a big inconvenience for families. I noticed several folks had brought pouches for their toddlers and juice boxes or similar and seemed to get away with it just fine, but I doubt the same would apply if you walked in with a big bag of takeout. The staff is limited and they do not provide supervision; your child's safety is 100% on you. We didn't encounter the rude staff that others have mentioned on our visit. The play equipment is pretty extensive with lots of options including climbing, slides, spinning, soccer, little cars (these were out of order during our visit) and more. However all of the equipment looks softer/safer than it really is. Everyone in my family came away with minor injuries (adults included) despite playing responsibly. Notably the black netting that contains all the equipment is secured with zip ties that have free and sometimes sharp ends. Some of the handles on equipment have been ripped off. Also the landing mats and padding that covers the equipment is either very thin or very worn out, hard corners and edges are easily noticeable under a thin layer of padding.
We had a nice enough time for one visit on New Year's Day 2025 but I didn't love the place and I...
Read more*editing a few months later. I was rather disappointed in the way they handled food allergies and the understanding of ADA protections, and reasonable accomodations (such as bringing in your own snacks) but instead told my son he needed to basically be secluded from the group, exit and sit by the shoes to eat on the bench. I am just curious how you handle birthday parties? When kids are invited and can't eat the pizza or cake provided, parents of food allergy kiddos bring safe options to a party. So, my understanding was that in order to do this, the child has to leave the facility and return when done? We really need to reevaluate the food options/"rules" in places that are for kids. So many kids now days need to bring their own items not just because of food allergies, but even religious beliefs or sensory concerns with foods. Please do better. Educate your staff and stop the nonsense of no outside foods or drinks. (You can't even say it's for protection because you sell PBJ... It's all profit). Not to mention, we are talking a few snacks bars or some fruit. Then one employee went around telling moms to put their coffee away. I wrote to customer service, which didn't reply, but honestly I think we are done here now sadly. I'll stick to lil monsters and other places that allow my child to eat safely at a table in the building.
Previous review: My boys love coming here and we can easily spend over 2-3 hours! I think the price is totally worth it because then it's like $10 or less an hour to play! They burn so much energy too :). There is a small kid section too for babies and toddlers. They even brought the dragon out to say hello, a building wide dance party too. My kids said best day ever. Just know there are play claw machines, air hockey, etc. So factor that...
