This two-star review is for curbside pickup and delivery only. Since quarantine started, we have probably ordered Texas Roadhouse 7-8 times. Whether it was for a family/personal dinner, or business lunch, this Kokomo Texas Roadhouse managed to mess it up every single time. Either the food is over-fried, steak was not cooked like it was supposed to be, received wrong sides, or were missing things entirely. No exaggeration. Every. Single. Time. Which is very disappointing, considering the price of everything. And it can be a hassle to try and replace the food that was missing, or try and get a refund for it.
I'm honestly not trying to be a Karen here. I've worked in restaurants before. I know things happen. But it gets tiring after the first few times. Even after the first few mess ups we kept ordering from them. But we are finally done. This last order we made was a complete disaster, so we are finally done!!
First, we ordered our food at 2:00 p.m. to be picked up at 8:30. When we get there, 10 minutes early, we let the restaurant know we were there. They told us our food was ready and someone was bringing it out. About 15 minutes go by, and someone comes out to tell us that they were not serving the entree we ordered that day. Like at all. She gives us alternatives and we tell her what we want instead. She said we will have to wait for it to be cooked. An hour, no joke, goes by before someone else comes out. She tells us that our food is ready except the extra rolls we ordered had gotten burnt. So they would need to be remade, and asked us to wait another 10 to 15 minutes. After that wait, we are finally given our food! It's almost 10pm. Did I mention, this is right in the middle of winter and it was freezing outside? And we had our vehicle on the entire time trying to keep ourselves warm? Anyway... We hurry home, eager to eat because we are all starving, and guess what? Our family salad is missing. Because of course it is. When I called the restaurant and asked if there's any way I could get the salad, I'm told it is already 10:00 and the restaurant is closed and they could not give me what I asked for at EIGHT THIRTY. Ugh. lol. I asked to speak to the manager and she just wanted to give me a coupon for two free entrees.
Y'all. They had 6 hours to prepare our meal. 6 hours to call and tell me at any point that the entree we ordered was not being served that day. Even the manager said the employees were not paying attention to the order and should have called me long before we arrived there. We got there when we were supposed to and waited another almost 2 hours. And didn't even get everything we ordered.
I love Texas roadhouse. But we will only be doing dine-in from now on. This specific Kokomo Texas Roadhouse has always had a friendly wait staff and short wait on perfect meals. But I have had nothing but problems with their curbside pickup or delivery. Whoever is running or working that part of the restaurant really needs to get their stuff together. They really need to stop letting customer's meals go out the door without the food being done correctly or with things missing. I'm sure my family and colleagues aren't the only ones who have had issues with this. If you've read all this, please just go in and eat. The hassle of the supposedly easy online order is...
Read moreWe eat out a lot, and we tip well too. I haven't been to Texas Roadhouse in over a year, so we decided to go last Friday August 8, 2023 They lost our online reservation, but the girl at the front was super accommodating and got us in regardless of the 35 minute wait. That was very appreciated and she was very kind. We waited about 15 minutes and got in. Meanwhile, we saw much chaos at the front with seating, and many angry customers complaining. Which is understandable, but it makes the atmosphere a bit.. not desirable. After we were seated, our waitress was decent at best. I ordered the $15 filet salad, my partner ordered a ribeye, and kids ordered kids meal ribs and chicken strips.
Wow. What a trash meal. I didn't take photos of everything wrong. I was trying so hard to make the best of it, as i knew the meal would be 80 plus dollars, so might as well enjoy it. The ribs they brought my son looked like they had been eaten on. There were just bones, mainly, and hardly any meat. My other sons meal had only 3 chicken "strips" and they were literally smaller than McDonald's nuggets. And mainly breading!
The ribeye my partner got was overcooked, he ordered medium rare. But she never came around to address the issue. The only reason i took photos of the bad lettuce was in case i got sick. I ordered extra croutons, no tomatoes. I got a plastic dish with THREE croutons in it. I thought it was funny, it was so bad.
The salad started off good, the filet was cooked to my liking, but oh my goodness. The lettuce. I kept finding it and finding it. Slimy, transparent salad. I told the waitress, and instead of taking it she asked me if i could eat it. If not she said she could take it back. Not get me a new one, take it back.
I was so hungry from waiting and it being supper time. Taking it away seemed atrocious when i could gladly eat the meat. I asked her if it would be the same lettuce quality out of the same bin and she said yes. So. I ate it. That's when i took the p. She did offer me more dressing, and i accepted. What i got liked like it has been off of another persons plate. When i dumped it, it looked like bleu cheese dressing. But alas, the lumps were round green (tomatoes, maybe?) balls about the size of malt balls. And lettuce mixed in, more lettuce.... You can see the balls in the photos.
No manager ever came by, nothing was ever addressed. I can't say much about the rest of the issues, as i didn't bring them up to her. But you would think the salad alone would get a manager out. I know if it was my restaurant, it sure would. I think that more of us need to stop excusing this behavior and leave honest reviews. Corporate only cares when their pocket books start hurting.
I would skip this place in if looking for a good time and a good meal. Eating out is expensive and this was a waste. Find...
Read moreTERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE Service. Went there on Sunday night at 7:15pm. We were sat at 7:40pm. 4 Girls at the front desk seemed overkill for no more people that were in the restaurant. They didn't seem busy at all. Only half the restaurant was being used. Waitress took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order. I said no we just sat down not 30 seconds ago. She came back 10 minutes later and we ordered our food. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. Before the food was delivered our drinks were low. No waitress to be found. Food came, still no waitress. Food was overcooked and dry. Baked potato tasted like it had been setting behind the grill for days. Still no waitress. Half way through eating, we tried to get another waitress to bring us a drink and some more rolls. She left and nothing for 15 minutes. At this point I am ready to get up and go to the bar myself for a drink. Our waitress finally shows up at the order terminal talking with the other waitress that was supposed to be helping us. They both look over at us and turn away. Our original waitress came over to the table and asked if there was anything we needed. My wife told her that another waitress was getting us our drinks and new rolls. She said what waitress. My wife said the one you were talking to over there. She said you actually ate your meal without anything to drink. It would have been nice for our waitress come to our table earlier to see if the meal came to our table and see if we needed anything during the meal. Not for us to track her down and nothing until the end of the meal. Evidently the dining experience has long been forgotten. I spoke up and said we would like another drink and more rolls please. She said that is not possible. The bar closed up 15 minutes before closing and no more rolls had been made. We said, closing??? You are open until 9pm. She said no its a holiday (Halloween???) and we close at 8. This was already well after 8pm. I said nobody said one word to us that you guys were closing early. There were no signs on the door when we came in so how were we to know. Why did you seat us 20 minutes before closing? You still have alot of people in here eating and whether you close at 8 or not you still need to serve people. She said there is nothing she can do about it, it’s is policy to close the bar and not make any rolls before closing. So she brought us our bill we finished our last bite without a drink, not even a water and we left for the last time. I will never go back to that Miss-Managed Texas...
