Updating my review: I responded to the response on here by calling the number and evie answered. I asked to speak to a hotel manager who she transferred me to. I told him i wasn’t really sure why i was calling, but sparks response on Google told me to and i didn’t know if they’d like further details. He told me it’s an automatic response and they don’t need details. I told him that was disappointing that it’s automatic because it feels really impersonal. He gaslit me the entire phone call and didn’t see the problem with his employee making us uncomfortable. He said he would pass the info along to the GM and i said i would like a call back. He told me not to expect one.
Apparently all of the staff here lacks customer service skills. Super disappointed in this interaction and will tell everyone i know not to stay here.
My family stays in Stevensville quite often. We usually stay at the holiday inn express next door, but decided to switch it up and checkout Spark this time.
Room was small but clean. No issues there. We aren’t fancy people and don’t need much when it comes to a room. Just a safe and quiet place to stay. That being said, it was not quiet at all. Doors were being slammed late at night and early in the morning and the room above us had someone dragging furniture throughout the night. No clue what could have been going on up there. Thankfully it didn’t wake our kids but me and my husband barely slept due to it. I noticed other reviews stating there was no bathroom fan, but our room did have one.
Customer service was terrible. We arrived to no one at the desk so we rang the bell. An employee showed up a few moments later with a long face and bad attitude. I was told her name is Evie. She had a nose piercing and gold framed eclectic eyeglasses. She was not friendly at all towards us and made both me and my husband feel uncomfortable. We both work in hospitality and understand people have bad days/sometimes the vibes are off and people need some grace — but this was beyond that. She barely spoke to us, was rude when she did and just stared at all with a long face. Very strange.
Like others said, location is by the hwy. We don’t mind that at all though and we’re fine with it before booking. It didn’t present any issues and we actually thought it was convenient.
Ultimately, we will probably never stay here again based off of the customer service aspect. Employees are the face of the company and we were not impressed and honestly left pretty disappointed. If we didn’t have young kids we would have just headed home for the night...
Read moreWanted an economical place to stay for a one night stay. Have had pretty good luck at Best Western so I thought I would give this SureStay Plus By Best Western a try. It was a Tuesday, so they weren't real busy, the parking lot was fairly empty so that gave me cause for a little concern. |Went to check in, the lobby was clean, and the desk clerk was friendly. Had made a reservation online so checking in went smooth. They do require a $100.00 deposit in addition to the room rate. Didn't inquire about this at the time, but checking out I asked the desk clerk, who was also friendly, about this charge and she told me the charge would be removed in 2 to 3 business days, and it was, so no problem there. The room itself was clean, the bed linens fresh, the bathroom was clean with adequate towels, soaps, etc. Didn't notice any foul smells, or un-wanted critters of any kind, and we always check beds, drawers, carpets, etc. The bed was comfortable, the refrigerator and microwave worked well. The room was well furnished with a desk, extra chair, and closet space. Don't know if it was the location of|the room or what, but the Wi-Fi was fantastic. Don't think I've ever had a hotel with download and upload speeds of this quality (75 MB down). The room was a little noisy from the expressway traffic but I'm a pretty hard sleeper so it didn't bother me.|The breakfast was OK, had pre-made omelettes, sausage patties, bagels and bread for toast, a pancake maker, cereal, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and I believe yogurt. The coffee was so-so. They have a pool and fitness room that I didn't utilize, because it was a one night stay. Overall this was a pleasant experience and actually a pleasant surprise. If I'm in the area I might try them again to see if this stay was just a fluke or if they can maintain this level of quality on a...
Read moreWe booked the room months in advance. About :20 minutes after arriving in our room, we noticed fleas crawling up our legs. At least a dozen in total between 4 people. We asked the front desk to change us to a new room. We checked out the new room and discovered fleas in that room as well. We decided to check out and go somewhere else. In the meantime, we had to shake out all of our luggage, and out of caution and not wanting to take fleas home with us, we bought trash bags and some new jeans and t-shirts at the Meijer across the street. ||I contacted the hotel via the credit card I booked the room thru. The hotel claimed they cleaned the room and found no problems so they weren't issuing a refund.||I began the process of contacting the hotel. I've now called 3 times, including corporate customer service, asking to speak with a manager. The manager has yet to respond or call me back. ||I was polite and respectful the whole time at the hotel. The front desk apologized and I said it's ok, it's not her fault...because it's not.||The sole reason I am leaving this negative review, the first review I've ever left, is because the management is clearly inept. They refuse to do anything to make the situation right, they refuse to even return a call. Multiple calls.||Do yourself a favor. Avoid the fleas and bad management and spend your money elsewhere. We were very happy with the TRU by Hilton across the highway, despite the higher...
