The worker was absolutely rude and had no customer service. I ordered at the drive thru and pulled up to the window after. Ask how much my order was because I didn't see it on the screen. He said $22. And some change. I said okay give me one sec I was using my raise right to get the gift card for my order cause that raises money for my daughter that does band. So as he was standing there I ordered my gift card and it sent straight to my wallet. I said okay here is the bar code to scan. He could not get it to scan he said that does not work. I said I just bought it try putting the numbers in then. He entered numbers and said it doesn't work. Then said you'll have to pay another way. I said I just paid $23.00 for this gift card if it didn't work I would of never got it to my wallet to pull up the bar code. Can you please try again. He tried scanning it again and said it would not scan and said rudely do you have another way to pay for this order. I once again said no I'm not paying more money out for something I already bought to pay for the order. Do you have a manager I can speak with. He tells me no he is the only one in the store. I asked for a phone number he told me they didn't give out numbers that he could take mine. I know when you give your number no one ever calls you cause they throw it away. Then rudely said are you going to pay another way for this order. I said why would I pay another $22 when I just bought a gift card for subway for$23. He slammed the window and walked away. So I sat there for a few minutes then someone else came around the corner and it was a girl. She looked at me shrugged her shoulders and turned around and walked away. I sat there trying to figure out are they coming back or not. So I ended up going to the other subway down by kettle Street. I walked into the store told them the problem I had at the other subway. Asked him if he could check to see if the card worked before he made my food. Guess what there was no problem with my gift card it worked fine. This kid at this subway was so rude and has no customer service if I was his manager he would be without a job or off a few days without pay. This happened three times in a row, the doors were locked and the people inside saw us and ignored us. It would be one thing if I'd arrived a few minutes before 10 PM but I was there before 9:45 PM and despite the sign saying they're open until 10 PM, they were closed by 9:30 PM. I know this because other people there were telling me they arrived even earlier and they were closed and the employees ignored them when they knocked.
I know people want to get home and unwind, trust me, everyone with a job does, but closing a half hour early because you feel like it is bad business practice. Imagine working a 9-to-5 job and telling your boss at 4:30 that you didn't feel like working anymore and 4:30 is close enough to 5 anyway. That wouldn't fly. So it shouldn't here, either. People don't arrive a half hour before closing time just to be jerks and make people's lives harder, sometimes we've had a hectic day. Yes, service workers are tired at the end of the day, but so are we.
