Attending Hondros changed my life. I attended Hondros for my LPN and now have returned to their ADN program. Before applying to Hondros, I spent 4 application cycles (4 years) just missing out by 5-10 spots at various schools which was very disheartening as an older student switching careers. When I discovered Hondros, I was welcomed in by all the staff, the admission process was fast and smooth. I attended a information session on a Saturday, was admitted by Tuesday because I wasted no time in getting my paperwork together for them. When I started the PN program, it was the culmination of a ten year journey, one class at a time. The program was difficult, very difficult. It’s Nursing school, there is so much knowledge required that it could never be easy nor should it as you will be caring for humans when you’re done. Doesn’t matter where you go, nursing school is hard, and there will always be something that you can find you don’t care for in any program you attend. As a student at Hondros, it’s hard to not get a powerpoint or review guides. I’m a very visual learner, so I had to reinvent myself in order to get where I wanted to be. IT WAS HARD, but I graduated and when I finally took my NCLEX my exam it shut off at 60 questions on the nose (Graduated during Covid). I was over prepared for my licensing exam and because of that I personally love this school, even though the 1.5 hour drive is difficult. Let me first start by saying that Hondros College of Nursing is accredited. I’m not so sure where the others are getting their information from. The reason why the classes won’t transfer is because this is an accelerated program. Meaning we have 11 week terms instead of the usual 12-16. That’s the price we pay for not having to wait years to get into a nursing program else where. Additionally, I believe that most bridge programs won’t require you to retake most of the co-requisites classes anyways, just as long as you have your license you’re good for the most part.

Anyways, I totally believe that Hondros, the Maumee campus specifically is a great nursing school. Sure they are new but like any other nursing schools, they’re not perfect. They’ve got areas to improve on, and with the new DON, I trust that they’re doing their best to make the school even better. The crew from the front desk to the professors and staff are phenemonal. (Shoutout to Roz :p) I think the people who are complaining fail to realize that nursing school is way different than other college courses. It is supposed to be hard and challenging. As long as you work hard, seek help if you need it, stay after for tutoring, I guarantee that you will succeed. You will reap what you sow. As a current student who has made the decision to leave this school I strongly suggest anyone who is thinking of going here to definitely do not do it. This school is a set up for failure, students has failed because of not having a TB test read on time and turned in to castle branch and they don’t even have clinical sites you attend clinical the first term and the last term the rest of the term it’s done in what they call hondros hospital (lol) which is there classrooms, there’s no such thing as going into your final with cushion because it doesn’t matter if you don’t pass the final you do not pass the class, you take hessi exam at the 10th week and is required to get a 900 on it or you fail the term and have to sit out which is a joke thier suppose to be using hessi as a way to prepare thier students for the NCLEX not as a way to fail students, not only have I watched students leave this school but also staff members who just doesn’t agree with the set up for failure, it’s all smiles when your signing up but once your in doors are closed rt in your face, there so short of teachers the DON is teaching.classes right now (lol). We don’t have to give our money to a company that sets you up for failure because just like we need them they need us to make money, there are too many schools around for anyone to deal with thier mess.
