First off I read reviews on here from present to a year ago. Seems like the same problems and management just keeps saying sorry but nothing is being done. I reserved 2 rooms for 7 people. We had 3 vehicles. When we arrived we took pictures of our tags so she could reserve our parking. She handed me 3 envelopes and said these are the directions to the parking. Directions, where do we have to go? Front desk clerk pointed across the street and told us to make a u turn. We unloaded our suitcases and while some of us parked the others headed to the 15th floor. When returning to the hotel one room key wasn’t working, took THREE TIMES back and forth and it finally worked. I noticed we didn’t have enough towels and hardly and toilet tissue left on the roll and no extra roll. I called front desk no one answered. So here I go again downstairs to find front desk clerk on a cell phone. After a couple minutes i interrupted, asked for towels and was told I would have to come back later for the toilet tissue. It was time to eat , we met in the lobby , it was pouring down rain out. I asked the front desk clerk about a trolley. I was informed they didn’t work but there could be a golf cart. No golf cart because of the rain. None of this is there fault, but wait. I asked for a recommendation for a restaurant? We were told to go to BB KINGS. I asked if we needed a reservation, no. So here 7 people go running in the rain to BB Kings. They were closed, yep. Ate at another place. Later we found out the hotel has a restaurant from someone staying there. The next morning we all got ready to go to my father in laws funeral. I went downstairs to find out the lady that does the breakfast didn’t show up, really. I asked about coffee. Desk clerk informed me of the coffee bar and pointed . Luckily there were two ladies that spoke up by “the coffee bar”. It was a thermos of sort with packets of sugar and cream , no stir sticks. The other lady asked if there were stir sticks front desk said yes but wasn’t sure where they were. Oh it gets really good now. We go across the street to the parking garage to find 3 boots on our 3 vehicles. My daughter burst into tears, we aren’t going to get to grandpas funeral. I texted the number and had to pay $150 to get the boots off. The person taking them off was conveniently parked two cars down. She informed my I was in reserved parking. I told her I had reserved 3 parking places. She informed me I was in the wrong places. My daughter was on the phone with the front desk clerk that said we were to park in a black numbered spot. The parking attendant said not just any black number spot but had to be on the 3rd floor or above. So when I checked in the envelope with directions to the parking was actually instructions on where to park. Seems like the front desk clerk could’ve said the parking garage is across the street but you need to read the instructions, not directions, on where to park. So parking cost me an additional $150. All we wanted to do was have a restful evening before my husband had to lay his father to rest. I am 64 years old and have traveled extensively. I can say this is the worst management of a hotel I have ever seen. Untrained employees, no attention to detail and just really don’t care. I am a business owner and in 30 years have only had one complaint that I took care of immediately. Unhappy customers tell at least 20 of their friends and those friends tell friends and do on. Before long you have an enormous amount of people that know not to stay at NU in Memphis. Now make sure you read the response from the manager and you will see how they don’t care. I will be contacting corporate on this. Oh , I was overcharged on the two rooms according to my credit...

Where to begin…. Upon arrival, the front desk worker was extremely SLOW, with a long line forming. Yet she had time to use her personal cellphone to talk on the phone to her friends. Finally, I get up to the front to check in, she claims that my husband’s card was declined. He had called in prior to put down the info for incidentals, etc as he would arrive after me. She kept insisting LOUDLY in front of other customers that it was declined. Well, come to find out… she was typing it in wrong! Foolishness. So now, I am feeling a bit embarrassed at the whole ordeal, but head up to the room.
I walk into the room and immediately see tons of pet poop stains all over the carpet. The sofa of the suite is covered in dog hair and the smell of the room is disgusting. There were still food and drink crumbs/stains left behind on the coffee table. And the best part- someone’s false eye lash stuck to the side of the wall! I called my husband to tell him I wasn’t so sure this place would work. He called the front desk as I walked down and the front desk person proceeded to act like I was being picky because I didn’t want a dirty room. Again, loudly saying things like “okay well let’s see if another room is GOOD ENOUGH for HER.”
I go to the new room. It smelled less unpleasant. No big noticeable pet poo stains, etc. it isn’t amazing. Not even good. But I figured I could work with it. Luckily I bring Clorox wipes with me everywhere so I was able to wipe away the stray PUBIC HAIR left on the toilet. The room may have been “cleaned,” but certainly not cleaned well. We even found a few mystery pills beside the couch! Insanity!
Now, as if all of that isn’t bad enough it gets worse! The first night, while parked to come upstairs and get me for dinner, my husband’s car was towed to a lot halfway across town. The hotel folks said they might reimburse and to call managers etc. $300 tow bill. No reimbursement yet… doubt that will happen.
The rooftop bar was terrible. The bartenders were slow even with barely any patrons there. The female bartender was more concerned with giggling with her friends than taking orders at all.
And for the grand finale of a terrible experience: We had left, when I realized I didn’t have the code for the parking deck anymore. I walked back in to ask the person at the front for it. She claimed my husband had left an unpaid balance and told me I need to get him there right away and I could not leave until he came and took care of it! Literally held me hostage! I call my husband to come back and figure it all out. He comes back and the lady continues to claim he has not paid even though he is showing her the charges on his bank statement!!!! She is adamant he needs to pay again. Until she finally figures out it was a mistake on their part from when we switched rooms!!! She spent the time prior to that loudly telling me we had an unpaid balance and holding me in the building as if I was some sort of criminal! These people are absolutely terrible and there is no way this place will last with this level of service.
My husband plans to contact the GM and whoever else to attempt to allow them to make this right. If they do- I will update my review. If not- I will add more photos and videos from the encounter showing exactly what the experience was like. The photos I’m attaching aren’t even the worst of it.
The worst part is we are actually locals. We were just trying to have a little staycation for the weekend. To relax. This was anything...
Read moreMy partner booked a room for me at this hotel. It sounded very nice from the description and said the photos were beautiful. So I was very excited to come stay at the hotel. I called the front desk while I was on my way to the hotel and the lady was rude. When I arrived to the hotel the only entry door was locked. It was well below freezing out I stood outside the door waiting for 10 minutes after ringing the doorbell. Another guest came out the door and I popped in. Another guest that was checking in inquired about the front door and if her room key would open the door because she said she had also stood outside with her baby way longer than she felt comfortable with. The front desk lady told her sorry she was busy with other things and that no you could not access the hotel from the street. You could only be let in from someone inside the hotel. While getting checked in the lady informed me that they have breakfast for 15 dollars but that they may or may not have it she wasn’t sure. I was also informed that the restaurant is closed down. Most of their amenities are closed down because of low occupancy. (I understand why now) I got my room key to 1107 and headed for the elevator. Soon as the doors opened on the 11th floor I noticed the smell of dog urine and feces. The carpets were disgusting, riddled with stains and were loose and wrinkled. Once inside the room that theme continued. Stains everywhere, Including on the furniture. Pet hair all around the perimeter of the room. It was a very good size room, but it was so filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. Water damage from a leak around the light fixture in the shower, the previous guest body hair in the tub, on the shower walls, and in the floor. large water stains all around the toilet area like the toilet had overflowed and the water had sat for a while. I called the front desk and told them about my concerns to which she said “ If you don’t like it, Then you can come down and meet me at the front desk and I’ll give you keys to a different room” The lady said that to me with so much Attitude!!! I gathered my things went down front was gave keys to room 1607. I went up the elevator the carpet was equally disgusting upon exiting the elevator. The smells were just as bad. I opened the door on the room, took a quick glance, noticed this room was no better than the first room and decided to find accommodations elsewhere. I’ve stayed at super8’s that 100x better than this place. The two staff I had interactions with were incredibly rude. This hotel needs remodeling or at least all of the carpet removed!!! Don’t waste your time or money coming...
