Dr. Gir has been absolutely awesome. Backstory- being in Memphis as a St Jude’s family, the misses and I explored the city one day and naturally the peabody was on our list. She commented on a particular necklace and I pretended like I had no interest. Little did she know I did in-fact memorize exactly what the necklace looked like. No the question was how to get it home to Virginia since I wouldn’t be returning and she had yet to come home from Memphis. Well, Mr Gir saved the day. I described the piece, we exchanged a couple messages to narrowed down the exact necklace that she saw that day and BOOM- it was at my door in only a few days. Let me tell you; I got some serious brownie points for that! Fast forward almost 5 years, the necklace has since been lost after a couple of moves and even though we no longer frequent the home of the blues, I still called on Dr Gir for yet another birthday/xmas present for the books. Same routine, a couple of pictures and some discussion and the one of a kind druzy, sterling silver necklace was packaged and at the fedex office within 20 minutes with 2 day shipping! The results have yet to be seen but judging by all the fakes and copies that I have found online, the quality of Gir Jewelers’ pieces are hands down, unsurpassed. You really can tell the amount of care and quality work that goes into their jewelry. A couple of years ago, I was on a River boat cruise that terminated in Memphis. Like everyone I had to go to the Peabody hotel to see the ducks. While I was there I found this charming boutique called GIR Jewelers/ GIR collections. They had the most amazing designer jewelry, fine jewelry, purses and shoes that I have ever seen. I ended up buying several pieces and every time I wear them I get amazing compliments. Just recently the owner reached out to me about a bracelet that I had admired when I was there before. He also showed me pictures of this fabulous purse. I ended up buying the purse. The owner was so accommodating and appreciative that he shipped it to my location. In this day and age when everything is being impacted by COVID, small businesses are being impacted the most. This is a small business that prides itself on service, quality and honesty. Even though I don’t live in the Memphis area and on the other coast I intend to continue to do internet shopping, and of course go to the store when I am in the area. I am trying to support as many small businesses as I can during this difficult time and I urge you to check them out online and support them as best as you can. They are a wonderful jeweler and wonderful people....

I espied a beautiful ring and stopped into Gir Jewelers in Peabody Hotel, that was selling it. The patience that was given to me as a asked questions and got intelligent answers to them. I felt that I was treated honestly.

When it came time to purchase my chosen piece, I was offered a reasonable way to pay for this. Srikant and I negotiated the amount of the down payment and a payment plan. Most of this I, myself, was able to suggest for my benefit and convenience.

I actually called several times later, to ask other questions regarding the ring and I was able to talk to the original person I made the purchase from. When the ring was paid in full, I was asked how I wanted the ring sent to me and all efforts were made to get it sent to me by Registered mail. Until I got the package, we were in available contact.

Without a doubt, I hope to work with the same Gir Jewelers in Memphis (and Srikant), again. I believe that I will get the same service as the first time and get the same beautifully-made jewelry. The whole experience was enjoyable and definitely painless. I would make this shop my main jeweler.
