Absolutely Horrible. I spent three nights here for a BBQ festival that I was competing in this May. I checked in on Thursday afternoon, and the hotel appeared a bit run down from my last stay here. I left to help the team set up on the river to cook on Friday. When I returned to the room, I went straight to bed and had to leave very early Friday morning for the river. When I returned late Friday night, there was no hot water, so I took a cold shower. I was nasty from smoking BBQ. I called down after my shower, and a maintenance guy came and looked at it. He left and came back to tell me he wanted to move us. I was already in bed and told him that I would move in the morning.
The next morning at 6 am, I went down to get a new room. When I returned to the room, my son had taken a hot shower, and I ran into a staff member who said they fixed it. I took the new keys down and stayed in the same room since the staff member told me it was fixed. After cooking and sweating from 7 am to 9 pm, I was looking forward to a hot shower. My son and I ordered a pizza, ate dinner, and I headed to the shower. COLD AGAIN. I called down and told them I wanted to speak to the manager in the morning and that this was asinine. At 10:30, a guy came to the door and offered to move us, but I was already in bed, and our stuff was not packed. I WAS TIRED AND DIRTY.
This morning, when I went to the front desk and asked for a manager, the girl said she was the manager. I explained my stay and wanted to know what the hotel was going to do about my miserable experience. She walked away, and when she returned, she offered me points. I told her that points wouldn’t be acceptable. She asked what I wanted, and I reasonably asked for a comped evening of the three. She walked away again and returned to offer me a free evening. While adjusting that, she also stated she would take care of the $66 for parking. I replied with a big thank you. When she handed me the receipt, the parking was comped, and she had taken $50 off one night. When I asked where the free night was, she said that the $66 and the $50 equaled one night. The first night was $116.85, and the next two nights were $156.75 each. She chose the cheapest night and didn’t follow through on her commitment. She tried to contact maintenance and have them check the room, but after waiting for a considerable amount of time, she gave me the General Manager's name and said I would have to deal with him. This is the worst experience I have ever had at an IHG-affiliated hotel. I hope the GM steps up and does...

Read moreThe only reason two stars are afforded is because the staff was nice and welcoming when I stayed last month. It's the building and the resources that clearly aren't at hotel quality. As a regular IHG traveler, I now think all Indigo locations splash fresh paint and retro wall hangings in supposedly renovated properties, but do not solve underlying structural building issues, rendering them inhospitable. This building in particular has major damage that likely will only get worse. As soon as I arrived, I used the bathroom in the lobby, where both doors did not close at all. The front desk lady kindly stood by so I could go in. I'm no engineer, but it was clear the wall was off angle to cause this. The room wasn't what I would call clean. As noted in other reviews, the furniture wasn't clean, and didn't look comfortable anyway. From the time I stepped into the room, until almost 9 pm, the entire room rattled from their laundry room located on another floor. It was obvious as soon as one steps off the 8th or 9th floor elevator that the laundry room was rattling more than just my room. It was loud and clear. I mentioned this to the front desk, and because I had already unpacked during a long road trip, just wanted to know that laundry wouldn't run overnight. By 8 am the next morning, my room was rattling again from it starting back up. This could also be caused by the building shifting, as there is clearly something off kilter to cause such a massive rattle. Or the laundry machines are terribly broken, and this cheap company won't fix them. The next morning, my shower door would not stay closed, no matter if I laid a towel against it, it just slid back open again. That's how slanted the room is!!! The hotel takes dogs, but there is no place to relieve your dog. The hotel should not welcome dogs if the only spot of grass is a park more than a block away, which is mosquito-ridden and (not to be rude but) completely overridden with unsavory people literally yelling at the trees. Do not go after dark. The location may be near things, but I found no good places to eat. So maybe there's a nicer side of Memphis if you're looking for food that isn't the quality you'd find on a drinking block. Finally, if you park your car, try to park as close to the front door as you can. The...
