Frustrated and disappointed.
We arrived, ordered drinks, a starter, and mains — and then the waiting began.
My husband eventually got his wine, but only after a noticeable delay. My drink? Nowhere to be seen.
Then a busser — not our server — brought out our starter… along with one of our mains. We sent the main back. Why? Because it’s called a S-T-A-R-T-E-R for a reason. We wanted to enjoy it first, not juggle courses.
Still no sign of my drink.
By the time it finally arrived, I was nearly finished with my starter. We finished eating and sat there, waiting again. Still no server in sight. Eventually, the busser returned to clear our empty starter plate — and that’s when we asked him about our mains.
Now, as I sit here writing this review, we’re still waiting. No food. No check-in. No update.
When my husband stood up to grab me a straw, suddenly our server reappeared to ask if everything was okay. At that point, it was far too late — my husband had already gotten the straw, and the busser had already taken our request for the mains.
The service has been painfully slow and disconnected. Honestly, by the time we see the rest of our food, it’ll be breakfast.
Update: Oh, and finally we got our food — only to be hit with a bill that included a glass of white wine we never even ordered. At the very least, our drinks should’ve been comped to make up for this complete service disaster.
Thankfully, the manager stepped in, asked if everything was okay, and I let him know exactly how disappointed we were. He took the bill, removed the incorrect charge, gave us a much-deserved discount, and took off the service charge.
It helped — but honestly, the experience was already ruined. We...
Read moreWe had the best experience at Bar Luca for Mother's Day! We had reservations for a party of8 and were seated right away. The service was exemplary. The staff worked as a team and even the manager helped as needed. Our food came out quickly and our glasses were never empty. Everything we had was so delicious, it would be difficult to pick a favorite. The drinks were perfectly crafted and tasty. For appetizers we had the calamari (which were not rubbery or heavily breaded), the accompanying dipping sauce was a good compliment, the fish dip was probably one of the best I've had, and the teens in our group enjoyed the flat breads. The main entrees where each scrumptious in their own way. We had th gnocchi, the pasta bolgnese with short rib, fetuccini alfredo, and pasta a la vodka. They were all different, yet delicious. My dad wanted grilled fish and they accomodated him with one of their dinner entrees (branzino with clams). He ate every bite and raved about it. We tried 4 desserts (coconunt tres leches, coconut sorbet, deconstructed tiramisu, and the burnt cheese cake). Needless to say, there was nothing left by the end of this meal. This place is a hidden gem and we will be back. My compliments...
Read moreWhere do i start? So the server is new i believe, cool thats fine. We also have 11 people in our party so as you would expect, slow service. She was very nice though. We got our drinks and then ordered bread. We got our bread... 30-45 minutes later. 10 minutes after that we got our food. You're probably thinking “ok slow service, but why 1 star?“ the fire alarm went off as he was bringing us up our food. Yes, he. We had the server and this guy who gave and took plates. No issue of couse except for the fact our server was basically never at our table. Back to the fire alarm, the majority of our table went outside (kids and a few parents) because we were overwhelmed. When we got out there, there was a STRONG scent of marajuana. After about 5 minutes we went back in and ate, then the lights went out for a second. The food was good and all the people who ate faster than all of us’s food looked good. A total of probably 10 people ate well before us and left well before us. They also had gotten there well after us. One of the servers was practically getting yelled at by who i assume to be the manager, he asked her what to do like he had no idea where he was. That sums up...
