Roami at 1200 Ocean — Hotel in Miami Beach

We had a wonderful stay at Roami for a 3 night spring break trip!

The studio room with a small kitchenette we had booked had beautiful natural lighting, a street view, and a slight view of the ocean at a distance, even though we hadn’t booked a room with a balcony. Our unit was clean with a modern feel and it was the perfect size for two travelers. Not to mention the great location with the building standing just steps away from the beach, surrounded by a ton of restaurants and shops.

The kitchenette in our unit came with everything we needed from a microwave, kettle for boiling water, and a mini fridge to store food + drinks. The kitchenette was also stocked with dinnerware and silverware that we used to plate up quick meals and snacks. We really used the kitchenette to its full potential and it was one of our favorite parts about our stay.

We loved our stay at Roami but noticed a few things that we would advise other visitors:

There is little to no soundproofing between the rooms and floors. We stayed on the second floor and the footsteps we heard in the room directly above us would keep us up before bed or wake us up in the middle of the night.

Like other reviewers who had stayed in rooms without a balcony, the windows in the studio do not open so the room would feel a little stuffy at times even with the fan on.

However, for the price and value paired with the amazing location, we would definitely return to Roami for another stay and would recommend it to other travelers visiting...

The hotel has a great location in the middle of everything on Ocean Drive. The kitchen is very good equipped. Other than that, and the low price, this is not a hotel we would like to see again. ||The distinctive smell of mold was the first thing that we noticed when we arrived. ||The floor was all soft underneath the wooden planks. On day two the floor under the AC unit were all wet. |The leaking from this has probably been a problem for quite a long time. ||We missed daily cleaning during the 10 nights. No one came to either take the garbage or clean at all. This was not mentioned in the hotels advertisement before we booked. We had a set of extra bed-linen so we could change ourselves. |Same with the towels. ||The bed was not comfortable. It had only one mattress, and it was not comfortable. |On the bed-head the fabric had stains, and from my imagination this could remind of blood. ||There was really no isolation between the rooms, and we heard our neighbors talking, coughing and laughter, even though it was just normal conversations. ||The manager Ezra was at the frontier desk from 11-19 Thursday til Monday. He was very helpful, understanding and service-minded. We told him all about the above, and he took care of the leaking from...

Located close to ocean drive which is great. However the overall experience was not great because of the following:

We arrived 4:30 pm with cleaning ladies still being in the room, they were not able to understand a single word in English, communication with manager was really bad as well, they promised to call back but didn’t. We needed to leave the apartment and come back later again. My messages were ignored, despite sending it to both phone numbers that were mentioned to be available. After two days in the middle of the night (1 am), I received an answer asking for my room number (which I stated in the previous message) nothing more. Really disrespectful. They threaten with a horrendous fee if arriving early or leaving late but cannot manage to clean the room by the time they claim check in is available.

Also, the only windows in the apartment are in the bedroom. So only artificial light in the living and dining area. Not looking like on the images.
