We had contacted before our arrival asking if we could check in earlier and they had said if the room was ready they would have no issues. Thatâs exactly what happened and we were appreciative of it.
Upon check in we were given complimentary water bottles one for all our party even though they have mentioned two on the paper outlining all that resort fee entails. We had a polite/interesting conversation while we were being checked with front desk. We played a game of guessing of where we were from. They offered beach towels that you to sign out for and we did use them on one of the days so that was nice given we had no beach towels of our own.
Valet business wasnât the best but i guess thats part and parcel of visiting major cities. The room is a bit tight in terms of space if you are going to be 4 people at full capacity like us its not the best living situation with suitcases an all.The room otherwise was great in terms of the bedding and how modern it looked.
The room safe was broken the front desk made a note of it when we notified them and that was it nothing was done about it while we stayed at the property which was an inconvenience for us given we had to travel with our passport and valuables at all times. I did not press onto the issue more during our stay cus we were there for a limited time and had a booked schedule so taking this up would have taken up from our activity time. I did follow up after i had returned over email and was pleased to know that the property managers are open to feedback and are willing to facilitate customers. The resort fee for both days was refunded on the account that in safe room is one of the amenities that is listed which comes under the resort fee and because it failed us during our stay.
Wifi is another thing that could be improved, the internet would not connect and would take forever. So if you have to work etc you are out of luck we were told that too many people are trying to connect but given its a hotel and you would think its always occupied that explanation did not make sense and frankly not a good look for any property.
During our stay renovations were happening the space in the lobby is tight so it almost seemed like a health and safety issue while guests were coming in and out while work was being done.
Would definitely commend them on how they handled the issue in terms of our feedback after we had left...
Read moreThe hotel looks better in the pictures. Looks like it underwent some renovations to modernize it, and they were done well, but the maintenance was not kept up. There are empty lightbulbs without fixtures, walls with spots of plaster, exposed plumbing in the lobby bathroom. As for the rooms, most have views of only the white walls of neighboring buildings. Several issues upset us. Fist when we checked in I took off my shoes only to discover that the floor was filthy with granular dirt. When we asked the front desk to send housecleaning, he said no problem. That evening when we got back, it was still not cleaned, and now it was too late for them. Same story the next day. Only on the third did they finally sweep the floors. Also they didnât make the bed or replace the towels for those 3 days. That day our toilet got clogged (not with inorganic matter), we asked for it to be plunged. It was taking over an hour for someone to get in, so we went out. When we got back in, the toilet had been plunged... but in the process they splattered feces along the inside of the toilet, and no one bothered to brush it away. And not for the rest of our stay, 3 more days. Maintenance sucked. What drove me nuts was that this hotel charges a âresortâ fee of almost $23 a night. This hotel DOES NOT have a pool or a gym or balconies or any amenities you might associate with a resort. They provide beach towels. Thatâs it. The front desk personnel is nice, but not very competent. Two different attendants on two nights told us they will have our resort fees waived due to untimely housekeeping. When it came time to check out the front desk attendant (the one who first offered it) said he couldnât do it without managers approval. But the manager wasnât there. Neither was the assistant manager. I asked why, he said itâs because they have 3 other hotels that they oversee. I had to ask him to call those other hotels for the permission. To waive 2 nights, not all 4. He got through right away and she gave approval with no problem. Then he enters it in, and said that he can only take $20 off total because the system wouldnât let him take off another night. We just gave up. We will not be staying...

We set off with the most difficult thing... start from Orlando, see the sunset at Key West and end up at Miami Beach for the Sunrise. We chose The Kent hotel for our Miami Beach stay. This is probably an old building renovated big time to look like a hotel. Now they do charge a Resort fee for what God knows. This place is farthest from being a resort in a space challenged Miami Beach. Parking is a premium here. I will suggest availing Valet parking if you want to spend a full day here. Location: 2 Mins walking distance from Beach on the Collins avenue. The building is lit up in green giving it a distinct but somewhat gawky appearance. Service: Lady at the reception was warm and friendly and they do allow storing belongings for a short time after check out for free. However the entire lobby, which was rather small, area was dimly lit as if to avoid being detected from outside. It gave a shady feeling. Room and facilities: The elevator was a very old restored creaky one with hand pulled door. Although it did its job. The room was tiny although they tried hard to provide all amenities and made it look good. Toilet was so small that the door would hit the WC . They will probably be better off with a sliding toilet door. Room lighting was the dim variant to get you into the mood. The room walls were thin and we could hear things falling off in the next room and noises/movement. Window was facing a narrow alley between buildings and no view.
Overall this is good for couple who would like to spend a night or two near the beach and not too picky about room or facilities. Although they invested quite a bit of money giving this old place...
