First day here as my sister arrived in Florida for surgery with what she needed. Since I had the pleasure staying in hotels with my last partner, they offered the best of services. Their bathrooms had caddies for soaps, shampoos, conditioners for hair & offered the simplest supplies. The maintenance was always ready to even handle even a spill. Here's what happened: -The first thing I noticed, my sister needed the bed to herself because of her surgery. I needed another and they give me a spring fold-up & a horrible mattress where I even had to go downstairs to get extra bed sheets to put on there. I could’ve done that at home. Hotels are supposed to be a vacay away from having to do that. -Before that, there was water coming from the A/C unit. The downstairs concierge said that was from the rain. They ended up giving my sister & I towels to clean. Where is the maintenance crew to take care of it? Why does my sister & I have to take care of the hotels weather damage, when they should be responsible employees? -No extra pillows for the foldable “accident-waiting-to-happen” bed? No problem. They give you comforters instead. How much worse could it get? For those whom are careful and germophobic like me and my sister, yeah they’ll give you one that is clean with a hair or two on them. You tell them about it, they’ll go back there and find another with one less rolled right in there somewhere. -No conditioner given to you? No problem. One of the employees said, “There’s a Walgreens around the corner so you can pick up some.’ What happened to having a conscience these days? Or better yet, morality in the hospitality industry? -Since it has been 5 years that I haven’t been in a hotel, my sister finds a little stain on the beds comforter. Please look into deep cleaning. Be more economically conscious. Lower the price to your laundry room. It doesn’t have to be $4 a wash. It should not have to be the price of a liter of soda. From the previous hotels, it was never that much to practically free laundry cleaning services. -Let’s get something right, you put a kitchen in a hotel room and there are no kitchen supplies from anyone at the hotel. Yet those that work in this particular hotel, tells you “Oh you can buy that around the corner” gives me enough quibbles to see how much of a turn-down service they are aiming for. -I tried calling family in Australia using the WiFi. The Wi-Fi was on the fritz until I had to find one small spot where it was working. -No bellperson to help out with our luggage to the 6th floor. It is because I am a trans-woman with Meniere’s & hearing loss that gets thrown under the bus? In the words of Richard Dreyfuss, “Who are you people?” -Second and 3rd day here, my sister gets bug bites at night when she is trying to recuperate. How is it that, in a hermetically sealed environment on the 6th floor it gets mosquitoes at night time? As a person of science, it is clearly a fact that this hotel does have bed bugs. Got a portable air mattress? Not a problem, it’ll get a hole just by one. I had to constantly turn it on to inflate 3 to 4 times a day; even at night. -Breakfast from 7 to 9:30? Yeah in a limited area on the second floor. I have been to hotels in the past where buffets are open until 2 pm. The limitations are not worth talking about. I just don’t want to even entertain the fact that it is all packaged foods since that is all they have. When I got here with my sister, I thought that this hotel would live up to its standards like all others. Once this happens, don’t expect anyone would want to come back. When we observe the lack of ethical behavior in the hospitality industry simply undermines and reduces the number of guest relations within your company on a national level; since that’s all there is for your company, right? Drop the word extended and America so you don’t sound like you’re nationalists and don’t measure up to being extended due to poor service. Even that could make a tourist, from a different country, uncomfortable and unwelcome. It’s for your...
Read moreAs per guest receipt dates. This is the 3rd time we have stayed with your organization, twice, 2017 and 2018. 2017 we stayed for approximately 12 days and 2018 for 8 days. Both times were in your Brickell Avenue location, in Miami, Florida, and it was great! This past time, 2024 we can sincerely say it was awful, and disrespectful From the unfriendly front desk attention, to the smell of the room, to the condition of our room smell of the room, smelled musty The air vent grills looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the 18th century The water pressure, shower, was good if you are a newborn Toilet flushing worked the first day we arrived, and then we had to manually maneuver, by lifting the top, which covers the tank, so it could flush. Most of the time it did not flush without our help The recliner in our room, once my husband sat on it and reclined it, we could not close. We had to use a lot of force to close it The cleanliness, was equivalent to rock bottom The muffins, which are sealed were dried and honestly, old
We asked ourselves if an executive from your organization stays at this location in what conditions would she/he room would be in? We understand that your organization is a chain organization and not at costly rates, but how much more costly would it have to be in order to stay in a clean room? I requested a broom from the front desk, and I was loaned one. I swept whatever was on the floor from our doing and the amount of dust was unbelievable, which was not from us. I wrapped a damp towel around the broom and lightly mopped, the towel was filthy, and I do know that was not from our doing.
We understand the world experienced a pandemic and everything changed after, but not everything can be attributed to the pandemic.
We did complain to Maria, General Manager of this location, #1740 and she was professional, and explained to her when we checked in, the front desk customer relation person was beyond awful. It was as if we were asking him to bring our belongings to our room. Didn't want to be communicative, it was like pulling words from his mouth with a rope. Nora, the other front desk customer relation person, PM shift, was professional, and with almost no voice, which she had lost most of, managed to be communicative and welcoming.
This is not a matter of us going back, having another room, late check-in, especially when one is tired and with limited time, due to family emergency stay. It's your responsibility to have the rooms clean (no matter the amount of the room rate) and good working conditions.
We do believe guests...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed one night 2/21/25. I had a complication with surgery and ended up having to stay near my doctor for one more night so we booked here last minute because it was close and they had rooms with recliner which is what I needed to sleep in due to surgery. We arrive at noon and asked if there was anyway we could possibly get in a room early even with early check in fees. Surprising NO ROOMS were ready (highly unlikely I've been in the industry) staff were not rude just not helpful even knowing I had surgery. So I literally had to sleep in my car for 2 hours when we had not received a call, my wife went back into to ask again and wow now they had a room. Only then did the guy tell my wife that the recliner wasn't a real recliner yet a chair and didn't have a leg rest. Very aggravated but we had already checked in so we went in. Still no help as to what floor we were on he put us on the 6th floor. Lord knows I would have been a little more helpful and put my customer on a lower floor first if I could but we weren't going to press it I needed to lay down. Only then she broke the news that the chair was just that and she would be giving me all of her pillows to keep my head up in bed leaving her nothing to sleep on. I decided to sit in the chair and prop my feet up on my luggage. I dropped my cap to my Gatorade in the side of the chair next to the cushion and noticed a lever... You guessed it, it was the lever for the actual recliner. The lady my wife originally called knew but the gentleman that we checked in with had no clue what was in the rooms smdh thanks dude for 2 more uncomfortable hours. Anyways the room was just ok. Nothing special, had a kitchen but no plates knifes forks nothing to eat with. They had a small sign in the kitchen to call down to the front desk to get a kitchen set.. !!!! What the ... Well guess what wife called three times and they never answered the phone. Ridiculous she went down and got plastic forks so she could eat and feed me. Breakfast oh it is served in some sort of hotel room that they have converted into a small breakfast area ON FLOOR 2. LOL... Other than that I would say other than location this place was a meh $100.00 a night hotel. I've actually experienced better 100$ hotels many times. Management needs to change some things or management needs changed. This was bar far the worst extended stay I have ever...
