A birria pizza? It was fabulous. While the bottom was greasy, that is expected with birria. The broth or consume that you dip the pizza in good, but together, it is just delightful. I squeezed the lime on top of my slices before dipping into the consume and yummmm. This pizza was enough for two adults and leaving extras. Husband gave this three stars because it was so greasy on the bottom. The texture was great. I put it at a solid four for flavor, texture, and innovation. One kid ordered the breakfast burrito and said she would choose this breakfast burrito over every other breakfast burrito offerings, ever. A little hurtful considering we make breakfast burritos, but I understand because, again, this is GOOD food. The burrito was also so stuffed she could only eat half of it. She started out at five stars and wanted to take off a star because of the size. 😅 I told her that isn't valid. Another plus for her is that they grilled onions and put them on the side. The other child insisted on the smash burger and fries. She was very satisfied with her choices. Ironically, out of all the dishes, it was the least greasiest dish. The fries were great, too. The drawbacks for this restaurant, at least for us, is one, the location. It's not super friendly to pull in and out of when that light gets backed up. No big deal, though. Another thing we noticed is that it wasn't super clean when we came. Even though it's connected to a gas station, we still expect it to be clean. The wall of the booth was covered in something red. The last issue is that they have no fountain drinks despite there being a fountain machine installed from the last restaurant. This could be because of no carbonation or syrups, or a choice to make profits off of single serve bottles. Who knows, but I'd personally prefer the fountain drink. Overall, though, we'll be back. We're going to work our way through the menu.

First time trying The Taco Shop and not sure if it may be my last. My family and I stopped by on a Wednesday morning and surprisingly they were pretty busy. They do have good reviews so I guess we should have expected it. My sister and her husband placed their order with the cashier before my husband and I. But it wasn’t until I was ordering that I heard a man in the back let the cashier know to tell us all it would be a 30 minute wait for all orders since they were backed up. They were also out of beans, rice and horchata on the day we visited which was a shocker because they’re a Mexican fast food spot and those 3 items are pretty standard. Nonetheless, we had no choice but to wait anyways since my sister and her husband already had to wait the 30 minutes also. I got the birria tacos and the green salsa tamales with chicken and peppers. My husband tried their quesadilla and the red salsa tamales with chicken and peppers. Honestly the flavor was a bit lacking in their food. The tacos were ok but i actually preferred them with the green or red salsa rather than the consume sauce it comes with. They were very greasy also, a little off putting. The tamales were dry and the chicken had a rubbery texture to them. Probably wouldn’t recommend this place or come back. Unfortunately the food was not worth the 30 minute wait. Myself, my husband and my sister’s husband all agreed the food wasn’t that good and we didn’t plan on visiting again.

100% one of the best Mexican-style meals I e had anywhere in middle Tennessee. Y'all are missing out if you think just cause this place is attached to a gas station that it's bad. Cause it most certainly is not! Absolutely WONDERFUL food, freshly prepared, seasoned, and cooked to perfection! The frijoles (beans) were tender and seasoned amazingly. The arroz (rice) was light, fluffy, not overcooked or hard at all, super fresh, and whatever seasonings or flavors they were able to get into that rice made it some of, it not the very BEST Mexican style rice l've ever had - anywhere. The tacos were all spectacular. We got a chorizo, al pastor, carne asada, and quesabirria. My favorite was actually the chorizo! The quesabirria was fantastic also, but their consome (au jus like dipping sauce) had SO MUCH FLAVOR! All the tacos were fantastic, and ultimately, we'll be back over and over again! Wonderful friendly service also! Thanks Taco Shop! Y'all are awesome!
