I wish we had a better experience here. They are making renovations and I completely understand. We made the best of our stay but so many things cannot go ignored and unchanged. I have had no answer from them on the BBB website at all. Do your family a favor and really read these reviews! I specifically asked for a lower level room because I have an extreme fear of elevators and a son with special needs. We were on the TOP FLOOR! There were "no more rooms available" at check in and I understand that part but even the next day they looked and "nothing was available" I saw PLENTY of room available. The ELEVEATOR GOT STUCK WHILE I WAS ON it and an employee was on there radioing another one. When it opened I ran out and went straight towards the stairs and they both laughed at me. NO APOLOGY JUST LAUGHING! The air conditioning unit by the door was leaking and both myself and my son slipped.. We kept towels there but my ankle still swelled up for the rest of the trip and I'm still not 100%. Luckily I am a nurse and I have pictures! Everyday for the rest of our stay I would have to walk up to the 15th floor with a swollen ankle. It would take me forever to get up and down. If I didn't get injured from the air conditioner I would have given the room a 3 or 4. The freezer smelled like bleach, and I believe they just turned on the fridge. The Housekeeping and maintence staff would stand outside our corner room to look out on the balcony early in their shifts and later in the day. They would talk loudly on their phones and/or talk to each other. One morning my 3 year old son was trying to sleep in the bed by the window and one woman talked on her phone so loudly RIGHT OUTSIDE OF OUR DOOR AND WINDOW she kept waking him up then when a female coworker arrived she started talking to her loudly. We were on vacation please be considerate. There were pools for my son's age that were not working at all. They had a chair in one pool and a handwritten sign to not use it. I understand repairs sometimes need to happen but it was just one thing after another. Many times I took random objects out of the pools because of my little one and at night the very moment the filters were turned off you could see how dirty the pool water was. It says no smoking but you can't enjoy the balcony because people are smoking weed and cigarettes. At the top floor it seems all the smoke came our way. Those of us with asthma don't enjoy that too much. When I would call the front desk any employee I asked information about knew nothing and would clearly say "I don't know" and never searched for an answer I had maybe 2 questions answered. I asked a simple question inquiring about the beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach, where do I get them are they rentals, and I was told I don't know. That's it. I will say there was one employee at the Front Desk that was great! She should be there more because she is the reason for the 3 stars for service.. She should work there more and train everyone else, I only saw her twice. I think she was a supervisor. One employee gave his notice and this was discussed with one of my family members and other employees were talking about things that they shouldn't have been to the public.... I will admit there were a few employees that were so nice. They really made the experience so much better. All employees should be trained better on customer service. Especially when your elevator malfunctions with someone on it!!! The location of this hotel is great and the view from the room was beautiful. I think with some staff training and alot of TLC this hotel can be great. It's really a shame to pay so much for your family to enjoy time away and this is the experience you get. **I have so many pictures of these complaints**

DO NOT STAY HERE! Spend a little extra money on a nice hotel, or if you’re looking to save money just get a motel because this is what is felt like! I’m surprised to see many positive reviews about captain’s quarters, but all the negative reviews are 100% true! We booked a 5 day, 4 night stay in a corner room and were instantly disappointed when we walked in-here’s a recap -I was rubbed the wrong way immediately when entering the lobby. We were next in line to check in, and only after a few minutes the line behind us was out the door. We were cut in line by several guests asking the front desk questions/checking in and the staff had no accountability or respect to those waiting in line, they should’ve politely pointed these guests to the back of the line. No apologies given to us or others for the wait when it was finally our turn. We waited (stood) in the lobby with our luggage for about an hour waiting for our room. The staff in general seemed to have no care or regard for the business they were running. -Our room was dirty with mystery stains on the headboard, curtains, walls, windows, door, microwave, and countertops. Our bathroom was very outdated in comparison to others I’ve seen in photos. -We wore sandals in the shower because the tub was gross, and socks around our room because of the nasty floors-everything felt contaminated! -For a “resort” I expected a comfortable, soft bed and was eager to sleep in it…we dreaded sleeping in our bed! Very uncomfortable & thin sheets and 4 very questionable pillows (one very thin, one rock hard, one lumpy????, and one fluffy) I slept in long sleeve clothing because I did not want to touch the bed. -The balcony was very tiny with 2 plastic chairs and a side table that barely fit in the space, and they were covered in rust & stains-we did not sit there. -Not sure if any housekeeping was an option, after reading other reviews it seems as though this hotel “does not offer that”. Our room came with half a roll of toilet paper so we asked the front desk for more one-ply. No hand soap at the sink, and the towels were awful! The bath towels were hardly large enough for the body and were so scratchy and uncomfortable. Very tiny soaps/shampoos that we did not use. Even after showering with our own products brought from home, we never felt CLEAN. -The entire hotel had such a strong odor, not sure if it was the construction, pool/ocean water drenched floors, mold, or a combination. I held my breath when walking through the halls/stairwell. -This is obviously advertised as a family friendly hotel with kiddie pools, so we could hear screaming at all hours of the day, a child actually knocked on our door repeatedly in the middle of the night. If you’re looking for a true, relaxing RESORT this is not the place for you. -The oceanfront view was nice aside from the smudged/stained glass doors. -The TV was so small and old. I know a TV is not important on a beach vacation, but for a “resort”, it would’ve been nice to have Bluetooth or YouTube on the TV to play music on as I was looking forward to. -Luckily we did not have a lot of luggage as I did not see luggage carts as you normally would in the lobby of a hotel. I don’t know if they have any, I imagine traveling with kids to this hotel would be a challenge. The elevators were very tiny so if carts were available, you’d maybe be able to fit one cart and one person in at a time. -Several times when leaving/entering the lobby I heard other guests at the front desk complaining about things and arguing with staff over refunds they were promised but never received. I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone If you stay here my recommendations are to bring your own Towels, bath soaps/hand sanitizer, blankets, pillows, slippers or sandals

This resort is run down and in need of repairs! The pools were nice, and they have many to choose from, including a lazy river. The kids enjoyed the Italian ice they sell poolside, but it cost $6.00 per cup. (We have a family of seven) The rooms were not cleaned very well, pieces of food were left in the floors from the family before us. When my husband noticed the time remaining on the microwave, he noticed something inside. He opened the microwave door and there was a KFC box left with chicken still in the box. The main door was messed up and it was so hard to shut or open, we had to either slam or push it shut with force. The room next to us, their door was the same, they left their door open at all times. There was tape also, over the peephole, because there wasn’t one, just a hole. The toilet wobbled every time someone sat down. The kitchen cabinets were loose and you had to be careful to not open or close them much. We stayed four nights and were given clean towels the last night of our stay. The towels were actually in a trash bag and placed inside our door, while we were away from our room. When we ran out of toilet paper, and asked a staff member for some, we were told to call the front desk. OUR PHONE DID NOT WORK! We needed to go to the front desk ! The sofa sleeper, mattress cover was nasty dirty and looked to have never been changed. Before we checked out, I stripped every bed, every mattress cover, every blanket, and put them in the floor with all the dirty towels on top, so they would have to be changed, for the next unsuspecting person. The floor stayed wet all the time. If it wasn’t due to coming in from the beach or pools, it was because of the humidity in the air and AC couldn’t keep up. We had to keep drying the floor with one of our 6 towels for the week. The resort should leave a cheap mop in every room to help with this situation. It would help keep the floors clean as well, because the towel we used, was black after the first swipe across the floor. The sliding glass door was sandy, black and dirty. Old gummies were in the track of the door and I had to clean it up, so our one year old didn’t put it in their mouth. Who knows if it was food gummy or marijuana gummy. The staff members were very rude! If we needed to walk past one, they would not move to the side for you to get past. My husband was trying to load our van for checkout, and one of the “cleaning staff”, put their cart in front of the elevator and wouldn’t move it, while “cleaning” one of the rooms. It was storming and my husband got soaked because the staff wouldn’t allow him to get past her, with our things. This happened in the open part of the hallway. We have stayed here in the past, and the resort was much nicer. It is now ran down, rude staff, and in need of great repairs. For the price we paid, we expected more than we got. All the poor reviews you read are true. I would not recommend this “resort”. It is more like a ran down motel now.

I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone

If you stay here my recommendations are to bring your own Towels, bath soaps/hand sanitizer, blankets, pillows,...

This resort is run down and in need of repairs!

The pools were nice, and they have many to choose from, including a lazy river. The kids enjoyed the Italian ice they sell poolside, but it cost $6.00 per cup. (We have a family of seven)

The rooms were not cleaned very well, pieces of food were left in the floors from the family before us.

It is more like a ran...
