Purchased two chairs on 04/03/23 at a cost of $443. Was told I couldn’t see the chairs until they were purchased as there wasn’t enough room in the store or store room. Boxes were opened before the chairs were loaded in my mini van. The chairs seemed fine so I took them. Got them home and they were the worst sitting chairs!
Loaded them up to take them back and was questioned by the guy who took them out of the mini van in a really hostile way. I explained that this ask could have been avoided with simply letting me see it in the store. The manager Justin, could not figure out hire to make the refund. He assured me that , the furniture manager could make the refund the following day when she came to work since she has 20 years of experience. I asked since she had 20 years of experience shouldn’t she have been able to probably input and print the receipt? I kept calm, did not become loud, only asked Justin a valid question. This made him angry and very defensive. Back at the store today and still have not received a refund. They can see my transaction, see that it’s paid in full, but can’t masher the refund.
No reach out to corporate, or even a neighboring Big Lots. Joanne literally hid in the back rather than try to fix her receipt error. The gentleman that originally loaded the chairs for me was able to make the refund following my daughter’s instructions. I totally get the errors happen, but management staff should at least look for a solution and not hide...
Read more12/31/2024. I visited the Big Lots today in Myrtle Beach at 1370 South Kings Highway. My experience was excellent. I went there looking for Crystal Geyser gallon jugs of water and they had plenty in stock. I was not happy to hear that this Big Lots store is closing. It is very convenient to where I live. If it closes, I have to drive at least 15 to 20 mi to the next closest store. This store has served me well for many years and the customer service is always excellent. I did not require help finding the water, so I will review the associate who took care of me at checkout. Derrick was bringing in grocery carts and noticed a line at the cashier. He immediately proceeded to the cash register that was next to me as I was next in line. Derrick greeted me and offered help. He asked if I found everything I needed and efficiently and professionally started on the checkout process. I had a $5 off $15 reward coupon for purchasing something last week that warranted them giving it to me. Derrick was kind, friendly, and professional at his job. Thank you, Derrick for being considerate enough to not make me wait in line. I highly recommend Derrick and this Big Lots location to family and friends. Went for a couple plant pots.They removed gardening completely and flooded with halloween season stuff. Next Christmas stuff. Have to search for food deals Food Lion groceries down two stores some times cheaper.
STOP! Review April 2022, Buyer beware! Bought Hudson Swivel Rocker Recliner. Found mfg. flaw after taking it home. Disassembled and took back to store. Got new one, same type and trucked home and assembled. After about a two months and left arm front frame wood broke. Back to store with 2nd one. Sat in every recliner they had and picked Broyhill Swivel rocker recliner. Trucked that chair back home and assembled. To have all back and forth work I did it would have cost me, $325.00 to hire 3rd party mover. Big Lots did give me a fair deal for new more expensive chair. However hey said they could not move extra $40.00 5 year warranty I had purchased for 1st chair, to my new chair. Won't be buying any more furniture...
