I really like this place. If you're looking for great blues music and a break from the insanity of Lower Broadway, this is definitely the place to go. It's good for lunch during the day and a lot of fun at night too. The venue has a really cozy, cool vibe with comfy table seating downstairs and also upstairs from the cool little balcony area. It's two totally different views of the show so like to enjoy both. The food is New Orleans inspired and I always go for the catfish bites or alligator bites. Very tasty. The music is dependably good. You'll hear a variety of blues styles and also bluesy or soulful rock tunes as well. You can make requests and they'll play your favorites for $20. Tipping musicians downtown is such a good way to directly support the arts so bring a wad of cash! Ger Hoffman is always fantastic and so is Corey Mac. I wrote this review because I want everyone to know what a good hang this place is. One of my favorites. 😊

Neat place off the main drag with wonderful ambience. We came here based off google's recommended places in Nashville and the fact they've been there forever. What we found was an extremely rude door man out front and an overly packed bar that didn't even have standing room left inside. The bar staff seemed to pick and choose who they served as opposed to who had been in line the longest. So as you can imagine our time here was pressed to say the least. The band that was playing seemed great but we weren't able to stay long enough to enjoy them. Never got drinks after standing in line almost 20 minutes and kept getting harrased by bar staff even though we were better located in the bar than others who were told nothing . Again, we found other bars, equally as packed, that went out of their ways to make our experience awesome.

I went here on the night of Monday 5/13/24 (around 7 pm) while on vacation. Everything was cool except for the upstairs bartender (a young woman). I ordered food at the bar, and later paid for it. Since I bought only one drink from her and she was very cold and unfriendly, and provided no table service, I left her a $5 tip on the screen--I clicked "custom amount" rather than a percentage of the total. I normally would have left nothing because of her standoffish attitude, but I strongly believe in tipping anyone that works in the service industry. After I came back from my vacation, the charge on my bank account did not match my receipt copy. My receipt copy did not have a printed total of my tip, nor of the total after tip-- I had to write that in with a pen at the time as it seemed suspicious. The total they charged would suggest I left a 20% tip (much higher than $5), but I know for a fact I did not. I called them about this and left two voicemails. It's been at least a week now and they still haven't returned my call. I also tried e-mailing them, just to get an automated bounce-back reply that the recipient's e-mail address was invalid (I wasted 15 minutes writing that). I did say I'd write a bad review if they didn't call me back-- so that's exactly what I'm doing here. It's a shame because the band was very good and the cooks did a good job cooking the food. But if you give me lousy service---and I tip you anyway--and you then INFLATE your tip rather than appreciate my kindness, you're going to get an angry customer who will never return, as well as a one star review. If you're the owner, please look into whoever this employee was on 5/13 and make sure she's held accountable, as she's probably taking advantage of other tourists as well. I'm here in town to enjoy Nashville's fine music and support live music, not to get ripped off by someone who assumes I don't check my...

I moved to Nashville in 2022, and when friends visit, this has always been my go-to spot for its vibrant atmosphere. As a professional chef, I understand the complexities of catering to diverse guests and customer expectations, and I rarely write reviews. However, I feel compelled to address an issue that occurred during my recent visit on Sunday, December 29th, 2024.

While visiting on my time off, I stopped by for a single drink and requested a tequila on ice at the bar. The bartender kindly prepared my drink, and upon checking my phone, I noticed a charge of $23. When I inquired about the bill, I was informed that it had already been "taken care of" and that I had "already paid." To my surprise, it appears this establishment has adopted a practice of automatically adding gratuity when processing payment, without notifying the customer in advance.

This practice is both unexpected and disappointing. As a loyal patron who has regularly recommended this great place, this experience leaves me feeling undervalued and misled. While I have always admired the lively ambiance of your bar, such issues undermine trust and diminish the customer experience.

I respectfully request that management review this policy and ensure greater transparency with guests regarding charges and gratuities. If corrective measures are taken, I would gladly consider returning and recommending your...

I was really looking forward to a good day out with live music and good energy, but unfortunately, my experience at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar was disappointing due to the behavior of one of the bartenders. I witnessed the short blonde bartender handle a situation with a group of patrons in a completely unnecessary and aggressive way.

One of the guests simply asked a question based off how the bartender was responding to him and instead of responding professionally, she made a big scene and yelled. Additionally, she jerked a drink out of the young man’s hand and got in his personal space in a way that was uncomfortable to watch. It felt hostile and uncalled for.

She then tried to justify her response out loud to the entire bar about what she did to him and his friends. She was simply ignorant and unprofessional and I wouldn’t want someone like her representing my bar.

What was even more disturbing was the sense that this treatment may have been racially motivated. I honestly do not believe the same response would’ve happened if the patrons had been Caucasian. The whole incident left a sour taste in my mouth and overshadowed the rest of the evening.

It’s important that all guests feel welcome and treated with respect, and that definitely wasn’t the case here. I hope management takes this kind of...
