We looked up highly rated pizza places on our Yelp App. We read where this place was 4 star plus? We walked there from a mile away? It was a smaller place but had a nice vibe with a good atmosphere. The service wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. They don’t go over the menu with you, don’t mention any specials etc. There were maybe two other tables when we arrived? They offered no water etc. We ordered some pizza… doesn’t matter at this point because the two different ones tasted almost identical. Chicken garlic and Vegetarian? Ordered a couple of drinks, some red wine and a Kentucky Mule. The wine was fine but the Mule was terrible, served with two lemon wedges and tasted like lemonade? But no sweat as we are easy going. We waited for someone to come back to the table even though 4 of the employees were standing behind the little bar area, talking and cleaning dishes? I was able to get the attention of a gentleman who was “working” another table. He was nice but didn’t seem to understand the issue with the drink. Anyway I received a beer “on the house” which I told him wasn’t necessary. He brought another beer later and I told him again not to worry about it. The pizzas looked and tasted almost identical, so much so we couldn’t tell them a part. Not of a lot of ingredients but plenty of cheese and the crust was very good. Is this a 5 star or even a 4 star place? I’m sorry to say it was...
Read moreOverall, it was a mediocre experience. I've been to at least 100 pizza places across the country, and this one doesn't really have anything to make it any different than 95 of the others.
We went on a lunch break (myself and 2 coworkers). The waitress started out well. She was attentive and communicative. But it quickly unraveled. She hadn't had her liquor license yet, so we waited on a manager to grace downstairs with his presence to get the drinks. As the lunch went on and the place got busier, the service went down. Clearly understaffed for a typical Friday lunch, she was clearly in over her head, and the manager was seldom seen.
I got a small (10") regular crust, Philly pizza. It was good - but something tasted like it was missing. Depending on your appetite a small can easily feed 1-2 people.
Coworkers ordered a small thin crust Garden Pizza. It came out a large. Easily can feed 4-6 people. The pizza itself was swimming in grease from too much cheese, the crust felt under-cooked, and the toppings itself felt odd and also like something was missing.
Overall, not a bad place for some pizza and a beer. Just not something I'd go out of...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience coming across this restaurant as I was walking down the street. I am visiting from out of town but if I were living here this would be a regular spot for me. I started with a Caesar salad that I thought was exceptional and those are some of the best croutons I have ever had. Then the small on me pizza came and then I had my first reservation about this place because although the ingredients were delicious the pizza was undercooked.. one of the servers not only asked how everything was and I told her that and she explained to me how the dough is prepared fresh daily. So they offered to reheat it for another 5 minutes and if it was perfect. I think there were some secret ingredients in that dough because the flavor was spectacular. Mallory and Candace gave exceptional service. Unbelievably friendly and hospitable. I loved the decor and the exposed brick wall. A very intimate setting...
