3.5 Stars Our experience was on the mediocre side. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't outstanding either. There were highs and lows. Three of us went on a very rainy Friday evening after work and got there about 6:20ish. We originally wanted to make reservations. However we weren't able to because the times between 5 and 7:15 weren't available. Not blacked out as if unavailable but not listed at all. Then we called and were told we couldn't make reservations during that time slot so we just decided to walk in. When we got there we were asked if we had reservations... HOW?! If we're not able to make any how would we have reservations?? Well we put our names down and were told it would be a 45 min wait. So we sat at the bar and decided to start off while waiting. We had to wait a little but not too too long. We started with drinks and mozzarella sticks. The drinks were really good but they were out of all of the slushy drinks. We put in the order for the Mozzy sticks and in the midst of waiting for them our table was ready way quicker than we thought it would take because it was only about a 20 min wait so they brought the order over to our table. We did end up having to close out our bar order first though and do a separate order at the table. No big deal though. The Mozzy sticks were very very good! We tore those up! And that's not just because we were hungry. Unfortunately, we ended up having to do more cleaning to our table because it was still a bit of residue on it. I had to clean my seat because it looked like they just wiped everything from the table on to the seats. The guy who seemed like maybe a table clearer seemed more in tune with our table than our designated waitress. She was polite enough but like she couldn't be bothered one way or another. She was probably most interactive towards the end when handing us our check. Then when taking our orders I specifically told her no tomato because of an allergy. She said she would write it down to make sure. When I got my burger there was tomato on it and then when I reminded her we saw them take it off the plate, leave the lettuce, etc. so whatever it touched I couldn't eat. I didn't even bother asking for it to be made over because at that point I was over it. The burger I got which was the specialty burger was supposed to be well done because my friend asked for medium Greg Newman and hers was rare. Well mine was still pretty medium rare so I left it to just cook at home. It was also so unseasoned. I mean bland as idk what. I realized at home it was inedible so I ended up tossing it. The Caesar salad was good and came out fine. We came for the shakes so initially I was going to have a shake there and then take two classics to go but after the experience I decided to just get the shake there. That's when she decided to take my order. She took my friends order and walked away. In all fairness she asked was there anything else but we all understood it to mean did that particular person want anything else, not if the entire table wanted anything else. My other friend decided to not get anything at all after that. Eventually I got the cookies and cream shake and my friend had ordered the strawberry shortcake milkshake. We both enjoyed some there and took the rest to go. I didn't get the other shakes as initially intended and we asked for water but it took awhile to come so when it finally came we didn't even get any because that's when the check came and by that point we were getting ready to go and just wanted to pay. It was an interesting experience. Maybe they were overwhelmed on that day, I'm not sure. I would say this is definitely a step up from going to the old location in the 50's and leaving right out. However it's a step down from the service received when we went to the location further down in the city. I'd come back but I'd try something else and see how a different day works out. I do like the location way more though. It seems to be...

We where a party of ten had made reservation for 8:00 pm we had arrived about 45 mins earlier I asked if there was any chance to be seated earlier and they said they where fully booked and to come back when our reservation was for not a problem, we came back and they sat us right away they take us to the back of the restaurant to the other side where the whole place was empty it just amazes me how within a half hour they had so many tables available. As soon as we sat down and they took our orders, they told us that we should order a milkshakes right away cause it’s gonna take about 30 minutes because they were very backed up one person in our party wasn’t eating she ordered a milkshake and within 10 minutes they brought it out. They took our appetizer order and drink water. When they came to bring the drinks they just dropped all the drinks on the table and waiting for us to hand them out to each other very unprofessional horrible service when they brought the appetizers, same thing even with our main course, they expected us to pass the food around me Weil I asked for ketchup and they gave me an attitude like I’m inconveniencing them to do their job so it comes to order our milkshakes. We asked for menus so we can pick out what we want and it was like an inconvenience again But meanwhile they were complaining that they were backed up and they couldn’t keep up half. The store was empty this all falls on management lack of training and lack of communication with customers. I’ve been to other locations and the service has been 100 times better than this location. this will be the last time we come to...

As an individual who knows and understands the importance of not mixing work and home in your overall self-presentation and demeanor, it is critical that I inform you that this establishment is not fulfilling its needs when it comes to the service and presentation of its staff members. My friends and I came to this establishment on July 4th to have a nice time for the holidays and show my friend a nice time in NYC. One waiter in particular (who goes by the name of Michael C.) is failing to meet expectations of service and his attitude needs to be addressed ASAP by management. It is critical that this establishment have some training in service and hospitality as a whole for all employees. At the end of the day, since 2020 and the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone in the world has had a mix of personal problems (physical, mental health, family, etc) and this should not interfere with your ability to go to work and have a smile on your face and provide good service to individuals who have nothing to do with your personal life outside of work. Tips and additional gratitude is based on performance of the service, and is not an automatic expectation. There are many opportunities out there for those who do not feel that this career may be there preference/end goal for their future endeavors.

Food/drinks are satisfactory, though there are many establishments that can provide the same service and types of foods. They probably also won't rush you to swallow and not enjoy your food because they have had a long day.

Please do not...

On our fourth day in New York, we had a reservation at Black Tap, a place known for its burgers and over-the-top milkshakes. With a solid 4.5 stars on Google, expectations were pretty high — and overall, it didn’t disappoint. This isn’t a fancy restaurant by any means. The vibe is urban and loud, with hard wooden benches, upbeat music, and a trendy crowd. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner, this isn’t your spot — but if you’re after good food and fun energy, it delivers. The food? Tasty and satisfying, though not the best burger I’ve had in the U.S. I went for The Texan, while others tried The Champ with blue cheese. All well-cooked and flavorful. The best part? The prices are surprisingly reasonable — for once, we didn’t feel like we were being robbed in New York. Generous portions, too. We skipped the famous signature milkshakes (the ones topped with cake) because we were already too full, but the regular shakes were still excellent. Overall, Black Tap is a fun, lively, and affordable burger joint that hits the spot. Come hungry — and maybe bring earplugs.
