This place is yesterday's hipster nirvana - emphasis on yesterday, but not in a necessarily bad way. As any hipster knows, tastes change, but the ethos remains the same. Like any fashion trend, clothing lines drop in and out of vogue, certain shoes are in one day out the next, etc. Stores like Urban Outfitters are fighting the good fight to maintain a hold of the ethos while trying to sustain a business model that isn't exactly in line with hipster values. This store is perched precariously on a super-expensive piece of real estate on the northern perimeter of Herald Square. Yet their prices can't be obscene. They're clothes need to have a sufficiently worn look with just the right number of tears. They've diversified their products and include a sweet coffee and small knoshing bar to round out the vibe. Overall, a sweet tidy place, filled mostly with tourists - as are most of the heavily trafficked Manhattan hubs - trying mightily to stay afloat and relevant in a cutthroat...
Read moreI called this location to see if they had a particular sale item but I did not have the SKU number. Obviously it's a sale item so it wouldn't be that hard to locate within the store but the associate did not want to go into the sale section, instead he told me he could not help me unless I had the SKU number. That really pissed me off because I've been to the store before and the sale section is very small and not too far from wherever he picked up the phone. This is so frustrating and I've worked in retail for many years and I know how I should be treated just like everyone else should be treated with as much help as possible and whoever this associate was, he chose not to do anything about it instead he was lazy. I'm already losing interest in the Urban Outfitters store and this is not the first time I received bad customer service. Imma just take my butt to Zara...
