Mysttik Masaala LIC — Restaurant in New York

I sit here writing this with a heavy heart, as my dinner is no longer with us and it saddens me with every passing second.

I do not joke with you that this was one of the best Chicken Saag dishes that I have had in this city. The chicken was tender like a mother's love. The cucumber, red onion, and tomato (as a new addition to this dish in my experience) felt as refreshing a Sprite on a hot summer day. The rice was fluffy enough to give you the REM sleep you've been lacking.

While Queens is plentiful in its Indian cuisine, you cannot count Mysttik out. Good food usually means bad service from where I grew up, but that is not the case here. With a small establishment, the staff and the vibes come big and hearty. I can't wait to try the rest of this menu!

If you are vegan, be aware that most of the food that is marked as vegan is NOT VEGAN. I asked the person working there what she recommended that was vegan, and she told me that the wraps (which are marked as vegan) and the sandwich (which is marked as vegan) all were NOT VEGAN. I even pointed at the menu and at the screen (though not the multiple signed proclaiming they won a Vendy award for best vegan food), and she went back into the kitchen to check and confirmed that NONE OF THEIR BREAD IS VEGAN. If I didn't happen to ask for a recommendation, I would have ordered and eaten something based on false advertising. WOW!! This is the best food cart we've been to in a while! Unbelievable Indian food cart in LIC! I cannot say enough good things about this food. It was fresh, flavorful and Yuva is the nicest person ever. I am vegetarian and struggle to find interesting, flavorful foods to enjoy. Indian food is often my go to due to the fact most of it is mostly vegetarian! My partner had the chicken tikka masala and loved it. It wasn't too saucy and the chicken was super tender.
