Lotus BLU Inn & Suites — Hotel in New York

Stayed here for 2 nights, arrived late to check in. Woke up in the morning and the bed had a dead cockroach underneath the sheets, the bathroom was not any better, a towel had yellow spots on it and a weird smell, a friend told me the blow dryer had weird smell. I told the front desk, which they felt really bad and promised to change everything in the room. They didn't offer to switch rooms. They did change everything in the room however the pillowcase had a bloodstain on it, not only that the housekeeper threw out my toothbrush. Like I understand it's Covid but dear God have some consistency with your housekeepers at least.

I worked at hotels before and during Covid, and I understand its hard but I try to make sure that the service is consistent to avoid problems like this.

If anyone reads this, I wouldn't recommend going here, maybe just go if you're desperate for a room.

Reserved a reservation through AirBnB for a 5-night stay back in August. Then, five days before our reservation, the hotel CANCELS. The reason? "The hotel closed starting 9/15." We checked on their website, and find that you can still reserve nights at the same dates, but the prices have doubled. The hotel did not close; they simply think they can get away with keeping the rooms full until they can get someone to pay higher prices. This kind of practice is unethical; you cannot simply cancel on a RESERVATION made a month in advance, simply because demand has gone up and you can jack up the prices. I would not reserve here at all; beware, they might just cancel on you and lie about...

My main problem with this hotel is that even on "smoke free rooms" the stench of Smoke (Marijuana or normal) is there. It's almost overwhelming.

Sure you have large rooms, but they're fairly empty.. one side gets a nightstand, the other... Nothing. Had to resort to using the ironing board as a nightstand.

Also the walls are not soundproof. You could hear the neighbors laughing and yelling throughout the night, making sleeping extremely difficult.

They did come and clean every day which was at least something.

The restroom is the only thing I quite liked. Nearest subway was the F line about a 10...
