Even if you're not a meat eater or are not traditionally vegan you will both will satisfy and savor the dishes here. We left happy & full, my friend said it was well worth the commute!! They have a great selection of desserts, beer, wine & cocktails, but I'll have to save that for my next visit! Considering the quality of the food, level of service, and super reasonable price point Amituofo Vegan is a must try, whether you're a New Yorker or just visiting, we would highly recommend!!
Spending over ten years in the city & being based out of the Upper East Side, my fellow Foodie girlfriend is always looking for an excuse to explore new neighborhoods in the city so I invited her here to grab lunch the other day......not knowing we would end up in Vegan Heaven!!
The manager Austin, warmly greeted and welcomed us into this funky oasis with a super "Snappable" Buddah mural and cute decor I felt transported to another world. The service here is impeccable!! While it was pretty busy, the atmosphere was calm, Austin was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, & super friendly!! Since everything in the menu looks so good, we told Austin food preferences/likes/dislikes and so he started us off with a slurry of shared apps including the dumplings, edamame, scallion pancakes & King Oyster Mushrooms.
The King Oyster Mushrooms were a highlight! They are lightly battered and fried with a delicious soy ginger dipping sauce that is divine. I took a bite, felt the light crunch and thank sank my teeth in the juicy meaty interior, they are hands down a must order!
Then we shared the pumpkin soup which is such a comforting and homey dish, all year round! The delicate Asian spices balanced the pumpkin soup and made it all the more savory and not at all sweet. #PumpkinGoals We ended the meal with the Mango Soy "Chicken" the bites of fresh mango and delicious glaze was the perfect accompaniment to the perfectly sautéed...

Here’s what we ordered and how each dish rated: • BBQ Roast Pork – 5/5: Rich, savory, and full of flavor. • Scallion Pancake – 5/5: Crispy outside, soft inside, perfectly paired with the dipping sauce. • Pan-Seared Vegetable Dumplings – 4/5: Tasty and well-cooked, though a bit more filling would have made them perfect. • Traditional Fried Rice – 5/5: Light, fluffy, and packed with veggies, great balance and texture. • Vegetarian Spring Rolls – 5/5: Crispy, fresh, and perfectly golden with a sweet chili sauce that complemented them well. • General Tso’s “Chicken” – 5/5: A vegan masterpiece, crunchy, tangy, and satisfying. One of the highlights of the meal. • Grilled Fish Banh Mi – 4/5: Crisp baguette, flavorful fillings, and a side of golden fries.
We also enjoyed a variety of drinks (Sprite, Arnold Palmer, Thai Iced Tea), and the overall value for the price was great.
The space is cozy and welcoming, with quick service and a calm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their plant based menu....
Read moreStopped in here one warm afternoon on a weekday and they had a wonderful breeze going through the restaurant with the front windows wide open. First timers (but not last timers)!
We had the salt and pepper tofu- perfect crisp and soft insides with amazing flavor. I asked what sort of salt they used and was told regular salt - no my table salt at home does not have this flavor, fine keep your secrets!
Sesame "Beef" - great savory flavor and not your sugary flavor from your local takeout! Good texture and chew as well.
Garlic and Olive Oil Kale - this came out piping hot and all steamy but was definitely double-salted. We could not eat much of this but aside from the salt, it was flavored well.
Great surprise ending was our bill was really low and I even asked if they charged us correctly (whats wrong with me you may ask)? We were told lunch items were half price on weekdays - woo!
5 star worthy if not...
