Me and my husband sent this company 2- IPhone 13 Pro Max phones to sell for $1440. At first the process seemed to be going quickly and within a week they said they had sent out our check in the mail. My husband contacted Recell after 7-8 days wanting to know when to expect our check. He was emailing with a woman named “Ariel,” who said that it could take up to 10 business days but that our check was mailed out on 5/8/23. After 10 business days we contacted them again and we’re told that our check was mailed out on 5/7/23. So at that point we asked her which was it the 8th or the 7th, and called her out on lying. She then said they would send an email with a copy of the check within 48 hours. Contacted her after 48 hours stating we hadn’t received anything and was told we had to wait “48 business hours.” They then FINALLY emailed us a pdf of a check for $1440 and told us to print it out and mobile deposit it. Well we did that and we thought the check had cleared only to check our account 2 days later and find that out that our bank had took the money out of our account due to their account having insufficient funds. We have already told them that if we weren’t paid we would be contacting the sheriffs department and the federal trade commission. My husband contacted “Ariel” again after their bad check bounced and she “acted” like she didn’t know why it bounced. She then asked for his PayPal information and said that we would be paid through there plus the fees we were charged for the bad check. That was on Friday and she stated we could possibly be paid as early as this past weekend. Well no shock here that we still haven’t been paid, and now they will no longer contact us back! I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy!! I’m still hoping they will make this right and we will get paid or at least get our phones back but I’m not holding my breath. Sold my iPhone 12 Pro Max: 9/10/22: My phone was received by them. 9/15/22: My phone passed the inspection, confirmed matching quote description. 9/21/22: I followed up on payment still not confirmed. They said they had some glitch and gave a 24-48hrs timeline. Normal timeline should have been 1-3 business days from the inspection confirmation Today 9/28/22: Still nothing. I inquired again yesterday, someone responded and said it would have been sent but never got a formal email. The reps never address you by your name nor sign their correspondence.
When digging into reviews, if you set aside the good ones that look more fake than anything else, the bad reviews talk a lot about no payment, late payment and bounced checks as well as them going out of their way to dispute negative reviews on various platforms to take them down. Read moreTerrible! The company offer financial incentives to send them your phone swiftly. Then when they get the phone, they claim there is significant damage and reduce the price. The phone I sent was in excellent condition and did not have the damage they claimed. They then say the have sent you a check, the check never arrives. They then get accounts to send an e-check pdf via email, the check bounces. They never answer the phone to discuss the payment issues. This review is unfortunately a familiar story for this company and they should be prosecuted for fraud. I will be writing them a formal letter of my intention to file a law suit against them and filing a complaint with the state of Ohio, as knowingly passing bad checks, and the number of reviews online indicating this practice are numerous, indicates this is a premeditated act and as such is illegal in nature.
