*BED BUG ALERT!!!!! We read the reviews on this place thinking it sounded so clean and everyone seemed to love it so we would too! Boy weâre we were WRONG! Itâs May 26th we checked in around 2:30pm on the 25th me my fiancĂ© & my son booked a room for the 25th-27th and my parents booked the room next door to us. We were in room 102 and they were in room 100. Everything seemed great it was about 12:30 -1am my son was asleep on the bed peacefully. I was hanging up some towels and bathing suits I went back over to my son and I saw something crawling on the pillow. I hurried up and picked my son up in my arms my fiancĂ© continued to inspect the bed and there were at least 7 crawling around just on the pillows alone! For there to be 7 of them this hotel would have been infested for at east a few months but with closer inspection there were blood stains (black spots) under neath of the sheets they had put down. They will crawl in your clothes and in your suitcases and infest your home when you get back from vacation. Those things are not to be taken lightly. It was pouring rain outside the people from the office had left and we were outside with out 10 month old who was freezing and tired feeling completely helpless for at least an hour before we found the emergency contact For the maintence man. It was now 2:30am weâre freezing tired all of our things are potentially infested. After another 30 minutes but what had felt like 2 hours the maintence man emerged from the office I guess he lives back there?! He took us to a separate building (apartments) behind the hotel. We inspected the beds everything was okay so we stayed there for the night. There were no blankets, no hot water, no air. Finally we got to sleep around 4am. Around 10:00am we woke up to a loud ringing phone. When we went to the office the lady had a huge attitude she was cocky, arrogant and not listening to reason. She was calling us liars and trying not to give us our money back. Was doing everything in her power to make everything difficult for us never mind the fact that our things could be infested, and our weekend is ruined she told us we had an hour to get out of the apartments and she called the cops Multiple times saying we threatened her and that never happened once she was also saying that weâre were smoking in our rooms she was reaching trying to makeup anything she could in order to make things hard on us. We are home now weekends ruined horrible experience clothes are getting washed at the laundry mat (no compensation) HORRIBLE HOTEL please examine a bed before you sleep in it. Look for little black spots. They will not compensate you for lost items and standing in the rain for hours in the middle of the night they wonât even tell you how...
Read moreThe â Best Westernâ Atlantic hotel in Ocean City NJ is the worst place ive ever stayed.
We stayed over the holiday weekend and the hotel was just an overall miserable experience. We arrived early and while I didnât expect my room to be ready⊠I did expect a parking spot. They told us we couldnât have a spot because people didnât check out yet. Meanwhile, the lot was half empty with someone was grilling in parking spots⊠no room for cars and paying guests, but bbqs in the parking lot are not an issue here! Finally got a room to check in to, settling in and the âcleanâ towels in the bathroom were soaking wet. My husband brought them to the front desk and they explained the sink in this room was recently âfixedâ and would send someone over. Turns out the drain wasnât connected properly so the âfixedâ sink was still leaking. The shower handle knob kept popping off as you are trying to adjust the temperature of the water⊠that made showering âinterestingâ. We experienced issues with the plumbing (toilet) in our room. Reported morning of day 2 on a 3 day stay. Told by front desk staff âdonât use the bathroom- go to the hotel across the street and use their bathroomâ. Maintenance wasnât in yet and would be by later to fix it. Maintenance never fixed anything and the toilet problems continued. Asked to speak with a manager and was told that it was the managerâs day off and the staff was not âallowedâ to contact the manager on their day off. I wouldnât have bothered leaving a review if it was just the first three items⊠because I know nothing is perfect⊠but the toilet problems and worse the employees âgo across the street and refusal to call the manager is why this place needs to be condemned. I will be reporting them to the health department. I picked this hotel because of the âBest Westernâ flag⊠I know Jersey shore hotels can be terrible, but I expected a respectable experience from a respected brand⊠and I was extremely disappointed. Never again. I Would never recommend this hotel, but rather I would recommend Best Western seriously consider cancelling their flag with this dump.
The staff think just because they send text messages asking for feedback they are providing a good experience, but in reality they donât actually know anything about managing a hospitality business.
Stay anywhere else and donât give...
Read morePrice was right for our vacation. Its a very short walk to the boardwalk and beach. Its located right around the corner from a lot of main attractions on the boardwalk. Has parking for your stay, but there is a parking fee. Parking is tight. Room was pretty well kept and looks nice. We previously stayed at Ocean Front, which was a much older motel. Beds/bathroom were clean and comfortable. We did see an elevator, which is a nice feature for those in upper levels. Has a pool, but we didn't use it. Some complaints we have are: 1. They were pressure washing at like 8:30p. Some people like to go to bed early and we were getting ready for bed. We also noted there was live music around that time as well. 2. While it does feel safer, the outdoor lighting is BRIGHT. With our curtains closed, I couldn't tell if it was night or day. The curtains does block out some light, but there is a lot of ambient light around the curtains that spills into the room. 3. The hot/cold knobs are backwards on the shower and/or mislabeled. Usually hot on the left, cold on the right. Here the hot side on the right, but the knob is labeled as cold and vice versa. 4. There is a significant gap around the A/C unit that let fruit flies into the room and also outside air to enter. The room constantly felt humid unless we were blasting the cold air into the room. Overall, it was a good spot to stay. Local breakfast joints nearby that isn't on the boardwalk. Bike rentals across the street. If their prices stay competitive, we will probably stay here again...
