Not a very pleasant stay. My room had not been cleaned well. The toilet was dirty and the sheets had obviously not been changed (crumbs and hairs in the sheets). There were no other rooms available so my only option was to change my own sheets. I had to go back down to the desk for a third time (the first was for the toilet, the second for the sheets) because they didn’t give me pillowcases with the new set of sheets. Our room also had lego pieces, bread twist ties, and more crumbs left from a previous guest on the counter, indicating the kitchen area had not been well cleaned either. The housekeeping staff are not appropriate when interacting with guests on the elevator. We waited a few minutes for the elevator (the one the front desk recommended we use) on the first floor, when it finally opened there were 3 housekeepers and a housekeeping cart that had just gotten on because the service side opened first. They just stared at us unapologetically as the door closed. When you have an old, slow elevator, you should be giving guests priority over service staff if the elevator is over capacity, unless it is an emergency situation. In another experience with a housekeeper on the elevator, she rolled her eyes and made a “talking” motion with her hand. I’m not sure if she was mocking us or what, but it did not seem professional whatever she was trying to do. It’s also a little disturbing that none of the housekeepers seemed to be wearing masks. We’re onto year 3 of this pandemic with the most contagious variant yet during peak travel season and your housekeepers can’t wear masks when handling pillowcases and towels? I also don’t understand the logic behind having the front desk direct guests to the side entrance, where the workers take their smoke breaks right outside the side door, instead of allowing them to enter through the front entrance where it’s far less sketchy. Parking by the side is also less convenient than parking at the front, as the sidewalk to the side door is closer to the front parking spaces anyway. When you park on the side you have to walk through dirt and grass. Ultimately, I would highly recommend finding a different hotel in Orlando. I did not enjoy...
Read moreI've stayed at this hotel several times. It's conveniently located minutes from the airport. There are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance.
This hotel has been well used and the rooms are ready for some updates. That didn't affect our stay though. They keep the place very clean.
I slept so well on the bed, I wish I had their mattress at home. I felt it was firm but cushioned enough not to hurt pressure points (perfect for me). I needed extra towels and bedding since there were 4 of us which staff promptly brought. All the linens were in excellent condition. I love the big plush towels that dry well.
The a/c worked great! I run hot and it cooled well.
The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, measuring cups/spoons, cooking utensils, manual can opener, strainer, large glass bowls for mixing, glasses, stemless wine glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, toaster and single cup coffee maker. The full size fridge has an ice maker. They also provide oven mitts, cutting board, paper towels, soap, sponge and dishwasher tablets.
The staff, every single person, wow, they are super friendly and super accommodating. So many smiling faces.
The TV has plenty to watch as they have on demand and premium channels. The wifi was a thorn in my side. I couldn't get the sign in screen to come up on my phone, but I can't complain because I didn't bother asking for help as it worked fine on my other phone. My brother was in the room next door, he had no issues with his laptop. It also seemed to work fine on my son's laptop and Nintendo switch so maybe it was just a "me" problem.
We were very pleased with breakfast. So many options to choose from and the staff keeps it clean and stocked, even though it gets super busy. Did I mention the wonderful staff?
My kids and my nephews enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, they even played some basketball for a bit.
Overall, it was an excellent vacation from Jacksonville, FL. My brother and his family flew from San Antonio and we enjoyed our annual family time.
The only complaint I have is the sofa bed, my daughter got on it and said it was horrible. Like I said, they are due for upgrades which Marriot typically does...
Read moreWe stayed here for a night as a family after a Universal Studios vacation, just before leaving to the airport the next morning. We are loyal to Marriott and chose this hotel for that reason, as well as proximity to the airport and room size to accommodate our family size. However, I would never stay here again. Yes, the floor in the elevator was dirty, but I gave that a pass, since that is a high-traffic area. We were assigned a room on the second floor, and as soon as we left the elevator, it appeared as if that floor had not been vacuumed for days, if not weeks. There was debris and dirt and there were stains all throughout the hallway. Honestly, it was disgusting. When we entered our room, wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the tile floor was sticky, there were crumbs all over the grimy telephone. I am not a germaphobe, even during COVID-19, but it was gross. Some of the kitchen drawers had food stains on them and were sticky. The couch had stains, the wall had lots of marks all over it, and the furniture, like the nightstand and chest of drawers were out of place, not even flush with the wall. I took pictures, which I have never done--not ever. Yes, it was gross, but it was late and the children were exhausted, and we had an early flight the next morning, so we just needed to go to sleep. Unfortunately, at 9:15 PM, we received a call to our room from someone (not the hotel staff) who said they had just been in that room a while ago and left a kid's shirt in the room, and could we please look for it. Yes, it was behind the chest of drawers that was pulled away from the wall and on the floor. The lady said they had just been switched out of that room. So, what happened there? Who is cleaning the rooms? They didn't have sheets in the room for the couch bed. Luckily, they had one extra blanket and pillow that they brought for us to use. The front desk staff was friendly enough, and the lady serving breakfast was kind. I give the breakfast quality a pass due to COVID. I would never go back to this hotel. Super sketchy. Sorry Marriott, but this...
