My initial impression was that the staff were pleasant and informative until I had the bed a week. Don't get a king (tubes feels too small for the width of the mattress), pass on the remotes (app does the adjustments as well), forget the underbed light auto feature (goes on and off when you move on the bed), and nix the desire for sleep tracking (only 1 of 6 days has been recorded during the correct time. At this point, I doubt its accurate.) They dont tell you that the bed does not come back apart so to move it, you need sleep number techs (at a cost), and lastly, that 100 nights trial only applies to the mattress. The extremely expensive base is non-returnable and non-refundable.
The P5 split top king bed has let me down every night so far. The individual height adjustments works but the remotes preset positions operate BOTH sides of the bed, not just one side, which was never mentioned. A split top is meant for individual head adjustments but I guess it was too much trouble to have different remotes or different programs. Why bother with presets if one side has to be manually adjusted or readjusted either way? The softness is different than in store. I specifically asked if there was a break-in period and the answer was that the bed in-store was just replaced so it should feel the same as a new bed. That was false. New bed feels like you're balancing on a small hill, even as low as 25. The app on your phone does 90% of the things that the remote will do so it basically renders them useless, yet they sell them. Sometimes, the remote says one sleep number but adjusts to something much higher. Many times, it just keeps going until its at 100 and I have to readjust back down to the setting I wanted. They praised the app and its sleep tracking feature but of six days, the app has failed to track anything on two occasions, incorrectly tracked my sleep (says 13+ hours of sleep on a 7 hour day) on two other occasions, and once recorded my sleep for 4 hours in mid afternoon, when I was in my living room. The underbed light (more high praise) clicks on and off all night while I am in bed but doesn't go on when I actually get up out of the bed, which does the exact opposite of helping me sleep. 75% of the features don't work as stated, which is causing a loss of sleep. The "bells and whistles" might as well be horns and sirens. Should have purchased a pool lounge chair. Those adjust head and feet height and wont track my sleep either. Could've cut the bill and my...
