This hotel was so bad that we came up with our own motto for it: “Beachbreak by the Sea, where everything breaks!”

Here is why: Checking in. Our plane arrived around 12pm in Destin and we called the hotel to ask about checking in early and they said no rooms are available at that time and to try back later. Ok, no problem. We drove down to PCB and stopped by the hotel around 2pm and they said no rooms are available still and that they would call us as soon as something popped up. No one called. We understood that we were early so we left the hotel to have some lunch and came back about 4pm to check in, since check-in is 4pm. Well they had no room available for us and had to wait close to 1.5 hours for a room! There was some type of issue in the hotel and they gave away our room to other guests even though they knew we’ve been waiting around to get in our room since 12! No one called to inform us that our room was not going to be ready at check-in time so here we are waiting with all of our luggage in their lobby where water was dripping from the ceiling. I don’t believe we even received an apology. In fact, the guy at the front desk was blaming it on other employees and guests so that was professional of him....(sarcasm).

Our room. We finally get in our room and let’s just say that the room does not reflect the pics they posted online - it was smaller and the carpet was disgustingly dirty; I actually stepped on a screw that was on the floor!

Cleaning the room. They did not clean our rooms on one of the days we were there and we had to constantly ask for towels and toilet paper. When we went down to complain, the guy said Oh you must’ve left the Do Not Disturb sign on your door, but when we told him that we did not and that we were in our room waiting for someone to clean the room because we needed towels to shower, he did not have a response.

Pool. The pool is also much smaller than the photos they have online and it actually broke down for multiple days so we couldn’t use it on days when the beach had the double red flags up. The pool water was very murky on the days that it was available to swim in. Yuck. We went around 10am one day to swim in the pool and the trash around the pool was not picked up from the night before so there was empty beer cans, chips bags, and soda cans all around the pool area, chairs were broken, and no beach towels were available.

Customer service. Putting it simply, their customer service completely sucks and some of the guys at the front desk acted like we were bothering them when we tried to tell them about all the bad things we encountered with the hotel. They did not care whatsoever and even when there was multiple people in line who wanted to talk to them and complain about all the issues they’re encountering, the guy at the front desk just came up with excuses instead of offering some type of solution.

Breakfast. Breakfast was just so sad. All they had was cereal, coffee, muffins, and bagels. The muffins were stale and coffee tasted like dirty socks. No joke.

1 star. The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location since it’s within walking distance to many places, that is the only reason for the 1 star on this review.

Never using this hotel ever again. NEVER have we encountered such a disappointment of a hotel in all our years of traveling to PCB.

If you can, avoid this hotel!!!! Everything was breaking down in this hotel and their attitude to the customers who are paying their salary was...

It was okay, the room was clean we was on the 4th floor an had a 2 room suite w/ a balcony view of the beach. PROS: Tori our reservationist got us a sweet deal on the room and she was a big help, they let us check in early, Clean room, great view of beach, we were on the beach, swimming pool, hot tub, they supplied towels for swimming an the beach, front desk was nice, housekeeping was nice and helpful, we were within walking distance by of everything on front beach CONS: BRING YOUR OWN PLUNGER Toilet clogged first day, we tried to call front desk with our room phone, but they don't answer they ignore your call, so we go down to front desk an inform them an they said the plunger was in another room, so we wait an someone brings us the plunger an I have to plunge the toilet which barely works an it drains super slow and doesn't fully evacuate so we deal with this for the first 3 days of our vacation an then on the 3rd day I try to call again still same issues w/ phone so instead I use my cell an call front desk an they answer so I inform them an she said Maintenance will come take care of it so we leave at 12 pm and return later like around 6pm an it hasn't been fixed so again I call an inform her she is polite an ask me to bare with her because they only have one maintenance man, so he shows up an tried to hand us the plunger again an we was like no we tried that, so he comes in and does the job, but acts so childish an unprofessional an makes a huge mess an walks out says nothing being very rude, so in turn I was a plumber and house keeping, Parking is ridiculous especially when ppl come to eat or drink at the place nextdoor an if the lot is full they expect you as a hotel guest to park across the street behind a store, ummm I don't think so because I paid to sleep there for some days an parking!! And I never did park across the street I refused plus what's the purpose of the parking tag, personally the ppl at the restaurant/bar should park across the street, be prepared to get your workout #NoElevator because there is stairs everywhere unless you get a bottom floor room, sliding door on balcony didn't lock it was broken thank goodness we was on the 4th floor, couch bed didn't have any linen we had to get some an still they sent bare minimum, WiFi SUCKED, beds were not comfortable very springy and they were small, supposedly there's no smoking, but be prepared if your on your balcony they are outside on the patio smoking away, problems w/ TV, honestly we felt like we was being judged/talked about by the staff the whole time like we didn't really feel comfortable!! Honestly I feel we was really good guest we was nice, polite, courteous, and we didn't have a bunch request an all we did was trade out for clean towels, we didn't bother them or have them cleaning for anything and we left the room nice not a hot mess like...

My family and I are very disappointed in our experience at this hotel last week, July 2021. We have a yearly beach trip with our family and our daughter had a softball tournament as well. This was probably the worst experience we've had to deal with ever. I spent at least 2/3 hours total trying to figure out our room/ change rooms/ speak to someone etc. The first room was not clean at all. There was mold. The ceiling was falling in above the shower, we couldn't shower because the bath tub would fill up (Gross), and our teenage daughters could not even stay with us they chose to stay at another hotel with their aunt (which separated our family). The sheets weren't clean, the floor was so NASTY we were afraid to let our 3rd old walk / play and any time the children walked across the floors their feet/ socks were BLACK. The lamps by the bed did not work nor did the plugs, my mother in law sleeps with a cpap machine (highly important for her health), during the night her machine stopped due to the plugs going out. When our room was on the first floor there was green stuff pouring from the top floors / maybe from the air conditioners. When it rained we couldn't even step out due to the water pouring on us because the gutters were not done correctly / and they were backed up. We didn't have enough towels and when we got more they weren't all clean (there was hair on a few of them). There was no trash bags and only one trash can in the entire room( both rooms we were in). There were guest walking about smoking weed and carrying bongs (this is a non smoking hotel). The swimming pool is about 23 people max and there was almost always 30+. The cell service was TERRIBLE, the wifi did not work at all. I was supposed to be working some on my trip and missed many deadline due to the wifi not working. I DO NOT recommend this hotel at all right now. I was told there would be some remodeling going on and there is a new GM that was awesome to deal with and she says she has big plans for this place, so maybe in a year or so it will be better but until then I DO NOT RECOMMEND! The price we paid for our trip here makes me so sick. We could have stayed at an actual resort for the price we paid to stay here.

The one star I chose is just because of the beach view, the staff and Ms. Sherry they were all so very kind and helpful. I will say I did deal with one young lady during the day that had a nasty attitude and that is not the way to handle guest that are already highly unhappy.

Again, I would like to say how helpful Ms. Sherry was, she did everything she could possible to help us, although it was not great it was...

Let's start with the good, room was ok easy access to the beach, pool & Hot tub! Now the ugly, reserved a beachfront room and my view was a staircase and bicycle and trash that was never cleaned up the whole 4 days that we were here. The best part is is at night. Just walk around to the back side and see if you can see to get around anywhere. There are no lights. It's dark and gloomy and there is no elevator. People are peeing outside ! I figured the hot tub is non-functioning but they don't tell anybody and people are getting in it and it's disgusting. The pool a little bit better but I can tell you nobody cleaned anything while we were here. It is totally disgusting so do not pay the extra money to get a a beachfront room unless you're on the second floor or higher. The third floor is actually the first floor and if you're handicapped this is not the place for you. There is no elevator! There is no breakfast. There is nobody in the lobby 24 hours! Like I said the rooms are fine. We stayed in room 107 but for the price and it being just trashed and nobody ever cleaning anything on the grounds we would not stay here again! Every time you open up the door to your room it turns on the bathroom light so if anybody is sleepy it wakes them up! The beds are teeny tiny you may have booked 2 beds for 4 people they aren't going to fit! The only reason I am giving this place three stars is because of the location of being on the beach and the room was particularly okay in cleanliness. Everything else is a disaster and they should be ashamed of themselves! I'm pretty sure the pool hot tub and the grounds is where covid started! If it ever decides to come back it will be at this place! I have attached photos. I hope this review actually reaches people where they can actually see what a disgusting grounds it is once you get down to the first level and try to get to the pool or to the beach! There is no one cleaning the grounds! There's been beer bottles, Coke cans, cigarette butts, towels, trash all over the place and never even attempted to be cleaned up. The pool has had the emergency life preserver floating in it for 5 days! And it's disgusting! And people don't even realize it and they're getting in it! Because I don't realize after a couple days they never clean the outside of this property or maintain the pool for that matter. The hot tub that should have something showing that's closed off. It has stains growing in it!

Honestly the location & convivence of the beach on the property was the best thing. Everything else was horrible. When I first walked into my room which was room (415 Oceanview) I thought it looked okay it was two separate rooms with two separate bathrooms. I decided to head to the beach but quickly realized it was blazing hot so I grab a quick bite to eat & headed to the room to watch tv. When I turn on the TV in my room it said no service, so I went to the other room & it was the same thing so I ended up walking down stairs (because the room had no phone) to inform the receptionist Sandra of the issue she stated maintenance would head up & they did about 15 mins later a gentleman came up & told me that he cant fix it because it has been an on going problem for a while he also informed the receptionist of this issue as well. She told me they were booked & no other rooms were available but she would let her manager know as soon as he returns. When the manager "D" returned he came to the room with another maintenance guy Robert & told me that Robert should be able to fix it & of course it was not fix so he did say that he would put the room in non working order when I checked out but that did nothing for me. I paid a resort fee but for what I couldn't use the basic necessities of a room no one should have to pay a resort fee and I should have been refunded my resort fee and half of my stay. The water from the shower dripped all night, the remotes were broken, the sliding glass door to the balcony almost trapped me outside because it was off the track, there was no telephone in the room, the linen was dirty (which I showed the Hotel Manager), the toilet ran all night & to be honest the rooms are very, very out dated and gives you 80's MOTEL vibes. The best thing about the room was the AC which stayed nice and cold the whole night. I wouldn't recommend travelers to stay here at all unless they don't care were they stay & just want a cold room .
