I recently stayed at Summit Watch for a short trip to Park City. The exterior of the property is adorable and what ski lodge dreams are made of. If spending time on Main Street is a priority, you really can’t get a better location, and the Olympic Park is only a short drive away. The general amenities and staff were what one would expect of a MVC property; some timeshare incentives were offered, but they weren’t pushy or forceful. I was concerned about a tight parking situation based on previous reviews, but it was much better than expected and I had no issues (small SUV). ||The room appeared to have been renovated somewhat recently and was comfortable in both its size and amenities. When it came to housekeeping, the room wasn’t the cleanest; little details like crumbs on the floor, a stained / pilling duvet, and some hair on the soap pumps in the shower were noticeable. I’m not sure what year the property was built, but the building overall did feel a bit on the older side. The elevator in the Silver Nugget building was slow and often smelled of cigarette smoke / food from the previous occupant. When I arrived at 3pm, I was told my room wasn’t ready and I would receive a call shortly (the property definitely wasn't full the night before). Check-in time came and went, plus another hour, yet I never received a call. When I came back to the front desk, the agent said she had been checking back on my room and it just so happened to be available when I walked in... interesting thing was I didn’t deal with this agent before, and she never even asked my name to check on the room. I found the whole situation to be odd.||One thing worth noting is, during the offseason, the town is pretty dead in the mornings and evenings. Leaving Collies at 8pm on a weeknight, it felt like I was the only person left in town - the empty streets were eerie and, to be honest, a little sad. In the morning, the streets felt pretty similar; beyond people coming in / out of the Atticus coffee shop, there was practically no one in sight. I’m familiar with MVC properties and understand that their offerings tend to be limited, but this really stands out when there’s little to do in the area. I don’t know if the property and surrounding area come to life more in the winter, but I was honestly underwhelmed by the area despite fairly low...
Read moreWe’ve been owners at another Marriott Property for nearly 20 years. In that time we’ve visited many Marriott Vacation Club properties around the country including Hawaii. We’ve always been happy about the consistency of the brand properties and the staff service. This unblemished record ended at this property. The rooms are oddly configured and in our opinion starkly decorated. Nothing about the decor is warm and inviting. The address for this property is on Main Street yet the entrance is around the block and there are no signs to direct you there and your GPS will tell you you’ve arrived when you’re on Main Street when in fact you have not. We drove up Main Street and finally called the property only to be given directions that were of no help. We stumbled onto the property on our own. When we finally arrived to check in of course our room wasn’t ready even though we were only twenty minutes earlier than the posted check in time. When we did get our keys we loaded all of our things onto the luggage cart and proceeded from the underground parking garage to our assigned room. We then discovered that we had been put in a handicapped accessible room. Definitely not what we reserved. So I left my wife with all the luggage and trekked back to the reception desk where they scrambled to find a room that was consistent with my reservation. New room keys in hand I went back to find my wife and move to the lower floor room that we’d been given only to walk through the door and witness the aforementioned decor. We were too tired to go back and try again so we unloaded our luggage and vowed never to return. So the story ended with us going over to check out the Marriott Mountainside sister property. From the minute we walked into to reception area and then were given a tour of their accommodations we were impressed. That property is exactly what we expected from a visit to Park City. This property including the accommodations and service was not. I almost rated this property a 2 but the quality of the bedding and bedroom warranted the upgrade to a 3. This is a 3 star resort at best. It is convenient to Main Street which is not...
Read more(1) Location: Summit Watch is along Main Street and is walking distance to several restaurants and shopping areas. We requested for a room facing the resort Plaza and it was quiet and relaxing. Thanks to Marc (from Philippines) from the reception desk who listened to our needs. The view from the room is the plaza and the other Marriott building, not the mountains but that is fine with us. (2) Plenty of activities - guided hikes, ghost tour, murder mystery, free snacks (rail trail mix, fruit smoothies, lemonade, wine and cheese for owners, coffee tasting). Special thank you to Peter Sebert who took us to the one-mile hike, Ghost Tour, Bloods Trail hike, Scavenger Hunt, Utah Olympic Park and prepared snacks too. Thanks to Nicole, Alina, Brooke, Ryan, and Megan. Ryan was helpful in lighting up the fire pit when we wanted to do our own gluten-free smores. The Blues band was entertaining and they played the mellow music we enjoyed so much. It went well with brats night. Plenty of games for kids. (3) Thanks to the Concierge Lori for guiding us to different places to go using the free bus and how to check for bus schedule using Google maps. We were able to visit Montage, St. Regis, Stein Eriksen, Golden Hirsch and Silver Lake Lodge by rising the free bus. She mapped out how to drive to Mirror Lake, Alpine Loop Scenic Drive, Midway, Heber Valley train and Brighton Silver Lake. (4) The hikes hosted my Marriott Activities were not rushed; they were considerate to those who are not fast hikers. they helped when the path was rocky and slightly steeper. (5) Main Street can be accessed using the free trolley or by foot. (6) Check in and out was smooth; front desk staff members were always helpful (7) Parking is organized. We got in from Deer Valley Road and found the parking area easily. Well marked building names in the garage. Ample parking space, clean and safe. (8) Free Fitness classes are offered also - yoga, stretch. Can refill our water bottles from the Fitness Center and Activities Center. Highly...
