Unfortunately, it has become to the point of the situation and matter at hand that I am having to address it through a review. This is a very serious matter, dealing with biohazard, health and professionalism that is not being met by management ( Logan). On the 30th, my contractor booked a room for me to have to work in Pelham on the first. After working on 1 February 2025 getting off work I am very exhausted having to avoid driving back 2 1/2 hours out of the way I decided to get a second over hotel room under my name. The time is 3:30 PM and very exhausted the young girl at the front desk who checked me in informed me that the price has doubled overnight and only have one double bedroom that they have to wait to clean 45 minutes for an insured me a clean room.so I wait in my car and take a small nap, as I awake for my small nap, which was actually 4 to 5 hours in my car, waiting for a clean and sterile room or at least supposed to be. I go up into the room and crash immediately. I didn’t even get the chance to undo the covers. I awake a few hours later and have become hungry so I fix a smoothie sit down in the office chair at the desk and look over under the AC vent to find a used condom. Now that I am having to take the steps because management has still yet to call me and it is 3 February and I am taking every single step needed such as this review, informing a local health department, and ensuring that I will get a lawyer if this situation is not addressed very soon. I am very disappointed at the professionalism and cleanliness of this hotel. After leaving my contact information email and phone number the night that I did not stay on the first I left to go home and drive overnight 2 1/2 hours in the middle of the night at one in the morning. I have spoke with most of the front desk, employees to relate to Miss Logan, how serious of a matter this is and unfortunately, I am starting to become very impatient after she is aware of the situation that she is not addressing. I forgot to mention all I am wanting is a refund and that my employer is a platinum member.

We booked this hotel due to the good reviews and location off of 65. We got in late around 8pm. Check in was smooth and we were given Rm 102. As soon as we opened the door a smell hit us in the face. The room has the strongest musky smell. At check in we were told they were completely sold out so I knew moving rooms wouldn’t be an option. I then tried to turn on a LG tv with a Samsung remote. The tv wouldn’t turn on with the remote in the room. Not a big deal not having a tv but it’s part of the room. I went to the front desk to ask front desk if they had another remote. She gave me the lobby remote and that worked. I told her about how musky the room smelled. She kind of babbled on thinking in her head the last time it rained. According to her reaction I could she was very aware of how bad the room smelled. She never even responded when I told her about the smell. There is obviously a mold issue going on. My son’s white socks are black from walking on the carpet. I felt the carpet and it feels damp. Overall this place is on par with a rent by hour hotel. If the front desk girl would’ve at least acknowledged a problem or acted like she half way cared I’d feel slightly different. Looking at the previous review and now mine this place seems to be trending down. Update. Giving one star now. I figured management would’ve left a response but haven’t. They obviously know they have a mold or water issue but don’t want to address it. This is par for the course on the service we received that night.

This Sleep Inn location was absolutely disgusting. As soon as I entered the building, It reeked of chemicals in the air (something was obviously sprayed to cover other odors) and even had no air conditioning in the building. The lobby was dated and the the sign had obviously fallen off the wall and they chose not to fix or replace it. After quite a disaster checking in, I made it to my room only to find the door unlocked and OPEN!!! I had to walk through the room just to ensure there was no one in there hiding or something. Once inside the TINY room with the TINY bathroom (they had a tiny stand up shower), I realized that there was a dirty floor, dirty toilet, dried food on headboards, and you guessed it, bed bugs!!!! I would NEVER recommend staying here.

Back in the Birmingham area for a few days, my wife and I chose this location based on good reviews here and on the Choice Hotels website. Although it could use a little TLC here and there, this hotel is clean and quiet...just what we look for. ||We checked in on a Wednesday afternoon for 4 nights, and were assisted by a very friendly and sweet team member. We always request a room on the uppermost floor, if available, to avoid overhead noise, but in this case our room was on the 2nd of 3 floors and our first night was fine.||Breakfast was typical Choice fare, served in a clean and bright area behind the lobby, and food was kept refilled. We headed out for our activities in the city and returned late afternoon to find our room keycard didn't unlock our room. My wife tried the door handle, and opened the door without using the keycard...our room was not locked, and the door lock was not working. We reported the situation in person to another friendly team member at the front desk, and she relocated us to a room on the 3rd floor. We found the same issue with the door lock on that room, so we were relocated again to another room on the 3rd floor. This door lock had the same issue, but we opted to stay with that room, knowing the deadbolt and latch would suffice for Thursday night. We were assured that the issue would be fixed the next day...24-hr. maintenance was no longer available. ||Before heading into the city on Friday morning we loaded our luggage back into the car, not wanting to leave our things in an unlocked room, but leaving a jacket, snack bag and laundry bags in the closet, and 3 drinks in the refrigerator. When we returned late afternoon the door lock issue was resolved and our keycard opened the door. We loaded our luggage back into the room, which had been fully serviced by housekeeping (we had asked for only towels to be refreshed). I noticed that the luggage rack had been returned to the closet, placed next to our bags of soiled laundry. I opened to refrigerator to find 2 of the 3 drink bottles missing. ||I reported the missing items in person to a team member at the front desk. We had not seen her before and she shrugged it off, saying she could ask housekeeping, assuming they had removed the items. No apology or offer of replacement. With our room having been serviced and the luggage rack returned to the closet where we obviously had left our things, it seems unlikely the housekeeping is responsible for the 2 missing drinks...why not take all three and remive our items from the closet? We don't know how long it took for the lock issue to be fixed on Friday, or who actually removed the drinks. I was very disappointed in the reaction by the team member.||We returned late afternoon on Saturday to find that sweet and friendly team member at the front desk, and when we relayed our story and concerns, she apologized and said there should be security recordings showing who had been in our room. Our time at this hotel was ending, so we dropped it, but still felt uneasy about items have been taken from our room.||Overall, our experience here was positive, and all but one team member took great care of us. I definitely recommend staying here, and would...

Review of Sleep Inn – Pelham, AL (May–June 2025)
⭐️ Overall Rating: 1/5
⭐️ Front Desk & Hotel Staff: 4/5
⭐️ General Manager & Sales Rep: 0/5 I recently went through an extremely painful and life-altering situation that left me and my children homeless starting May 19, 2025—and we are still working to find stable housing. During this time, we stayed at the Sleep Inn in Pelham, AL for over 20 nights. I have receipts, bank statements, and confirmation emails proving every single payment made. First and foremost, I want to thank the front desk staff, especially the supervisor Nikki, and her entire team. They were kind, supportive, and treated my family and me with compassion during a time when we had nowhere else to turn. Their professionalism and empathy meant so much and made a very difficult situation just a bit more bearable. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about General Manager Rena and Sales Representative Larry.
When I tried to explain my situation to Rena—including that I was recently divorced and had children with me—she talked over me, told me she didn’t care about what I was going through, and was extremely dismissive. She then threatened to call the police on me for no clear reason, hung up on me, and banned me from staying at any Sleep Inn or Quality Inn locations. I was shocked and confused. When I filed a formal complaint through Choice Hotels, Rena kept closing the case with false claims that I hadn’t paid for my stays—even though I have full documentation proving otherwise. I even ran into someone who worked for Rena in the past, and they confirmed they also had bad experiences with Rena and warned me that “she’s a person to know”—which speaks volumes. When I reached out to Sales Representative Larry to find out what was going on, he asked why Rena would threaten to call the police. I told him I honestly didn’t know. Instead of offering help, he told me to never call him again and hung up the phone. That night, because of the chaos and lack of support, my children and I had no choice but to sleep in our car. This experience has been deeply traumatizing, and I believe I am entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering caused by the actions of Renee and Larry. Their behavior was unprofessional, heartless, and completely lacking in empathy. Again, I want to be clear: the hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and the staff (excluding management) was outstanding. I give them full credit and 4 stars overall. But Rena and Larry both get 0 stars. They should not be representing a brand like...

My husband ,son and I were in Birmingham on business. Ratings, pics and price looked good. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sandra with an inviting smile, bubbly personality. She was very professionally nice, helpful & informative to the area. Offered us a water in which was very nice as she gave one to each of us that was wrapped in clear cellophane with a personal size bag of Famous Amos chocolate cookies in side, (very nice). Check in was nice and smooth, she explained all the ins and outs, times and answered all questions. Foyer, sitting areas, stair case, all inviting, clean, smells and looks very well taken care of as well as the restrooms, hallways, and common area. Ice machine and vending are on each floor and the common area. The room was fantastic! Clean, smelled clean, toiletries and towels nicely placed. OMG the BEDS and PILLOWS! were so comfortable, unlike any other hotel my husband and I have stayed. If it hadn't been cold I would have been in the pool, very clean looks cozy and inviting at night. HOUSE KEEPING IS ON THEIR "A GAME" 100%! As a woman that has done professional house keeping and can spot irregularities in a heart beat, I can tell you I looked and, CLEAN!! The breakfast was fabulous! The girl was very nice and friendly that was attending the food areas keeping everything replenished and clean, pretty smile, she's on her "A game". The breakfast bar consisted of; waffles, toast, muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit, eggs, patty sausage, biscuits, with country gravy, cereal, milk, coffee tea and juice (which coffee, tea and juices are complimentary to the guests 24/7). I also noticed security cameras inside and outside monitored (very comforting). Walking distance to a few restaurants, from What a burger dead in front, to fast food to Texas Road house, AppleBee's, Golden Corral all with in blocks. My reason for so much info is I went to and go by reviews, and for those that wonder when looking at the price and the pictures with description if that what your going to get?, yes and more! We were there on the weekend and was very well taken care of by Sandy, and the weekend crew that are awesome at keeping everything excellent! So with that being said, if your in the Pelham Al or Birmingham Al areas like we were, its a great hotel in a good location, and very worth the stay. I highly recommend this place to everybody that reads...
