Let me preface this by saying, I always try to avoid complaining about a business. My family owns one and I understand sometimes things slip through the cracks. But sometimes there are just so many things that go wrong in one single experience, you have to warn people. My opinion is similar to MANY Google reviews, so I’m not just being whiney.
I wouldn’t bother wasting your money or time on Juicy Seafood in Pelham. Our wait time went from 35 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes. The hostess was super rude to us and a couple other customers when we checked the wait time at the 1hr and 10min mark. We finally got seated and our waitress had the personality of a wet blanket and said like 3 monotone words to us. She never refilled our drinks and she never checked on us once the food got there. So we didn’t even get the chance to ask for help, order something else, or give the restaurant the chance to rectify the situation. Then she couldn’t be found when we wanted to pay, even after another waiter went to tell her we needed the check. I finally see her across the room, make eye contact, and she turns to go off somewhere else for 10 more minutes. So I took the kids to the car (the toddler was understandably whiney from such a long wait & not eating) while hubby tried to pay. When she finally got to him, she took another 15 minutes to get his card back to him. They were fully staffed and running at maybe 40% capacity (that is a generous estimation). There is no way the wait times should’ve been that long and there’s no reason she couldn’t have checked on us at least one time. I almost could’ve overlooked all of this had the food been good, but of course you guessed it, it was not. The seafood boil was bland, crab was fishy, shrimp were off in the texture department, the fried shrimp had so much unflavored batter on it that the batter fell off the unseasoned chewy shrimp and baby girl wouldn’t eat her meal (can’t blame her the texture/flavor was way off). Hubby said the chicken fingers looked and tasted exactly like the cheap frozen ones from Walmart and had absolutely no flavor other than that weird taste that things get when freezer burnt. All this at relatively high prices. There was literally no silver lining because lo and behold, I started feeling queasy the moment we got home. Ended my night with a migraine and severe stomach cramps. Woke this morning still severely nauseous and I’m getting a little too friendly with my bathroom.😩
To summarize, unless they completely revamp their processes, find new suppliers for fresh not frozen seafood, and retrain their staff in customer service, I would hold off...
Read moreVery disappointed in our dinner experience. We have been there several times when first opened having very good food and service, but today was a disgraceful experience. I can’t believe anyone would go back after what happened to us. We arrived early which only a handful of diners there. After the owner hurriedly took our order objecting the entire time when we asked any questions. She clearly was bothered with our being there and in very broken English (trying my best to understand her) took the order. She was understaffed and could not respond to us for anything. I ordered the lobster that was so tough I could not get the meat pulled from the lobster shell. I asked for help. She didn’t come for 20 plus minutes while lobster was getting cold. She reluctantly pulled the lobster herself. The servings of the seafood and potatoes and corn have been cut in size. A very expensive meal with a small lobster tail cooked to death. We will never go again. This is not the restaurant we knew. Weigh your options when choosing this place. The owner is capable of these behaviors. Very sad..”no show”staff and understaffed is a nightmare but never warrants this kind of behavior and total lack of appreciation that we choose Juicy Seafood for our dinner tonight. Beware diner. I’m sorry to feel this review was necessary but submitted with hope that no one else will...
Read moreBad experience. I ordered the boil which included crab legs that weren’t fresh. The meat kept sticking to the shell no matter how I tried to crack it. I was having to dig it out with my nails. I had eaten, or had attempted to eat two of the legs from the cluster (which one of the legs was so tiny there wasn’t any meat in it anyway) when I decided to ask for the manager. I informed her of the issue, so she said she would bring me out some fresh ones. She took my entire plate which included the food that I had been eating. She came back later with a fresh bag that was tied, so I assumed they brought me out fresh food. Instead, it was the same food she took from me. I guess they took it to the back and warmed it up. I was livid!! Never had I been to a restaurant that brought me back the same food if they had to replace it. Nor has there been many occasions where I had to complain about my food. I figured she thought I was trying to get free food or something since I’m a woman of color. That was not the case. I just wanted my food prepared correctly being crab legs aren’t cheap. I’ve been to this restaurant several times, but I will not...
