Summary: Too pricey, wrist bands are slightly misleading, VIP (fast passes) leading to longer wait times, and poor communication with staff. Still fun though
I asked someone at the ticket stand "when does the fair close?" and the response was "I have no idea". I don't blame the person, but the lack of communication with staff. The individual was really nice otherwise!
The wrist band (unlimited rides) price is $35, which is steep given the available rides. One ride (drop tower type ride) never opened while we were there. Furthermore, a different ride cost EXTRA to ride. I believe the ride was called "Nemesis" and was arguably the best ride there. Even with a wrist band you still needed 2 tickets per person to ride, which cost more money. Felt like we got cheated on that part. But hey, no refunds!
The fair has a VIP system for $20 additional dollars. This feature is basically a fast pass and allows you to skip the lines. Lines became slower as people would get off of a ride, then immediately get back in the VIP line. Great if you want to spend a total of $65 (entry, wrist band, VIP) to have a good time at the fair, but with a smaller selection of rides I personally do not see the value in that.
The staff was very friendly which was a positive and the fair was honestly quite clean. The rides that were open and qualified for a wrist band were fun. It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a fair. Same food as always (fried everything) with lemonade. Also a great variety of Mexican food options if you're into that
My advice is to walk around the fair before buying the wrist band. Add up the number of tickets you would need to have a good time, then see if you can justify the wrist bands price. We would have saved a bit of money had we done that. We went on a busy night, so your...
Read moreYes I went on the last day.me and my family paid $180 for vip they told us that this is so we can get in front of the line. No that isn’t the case.my family and I had a problem with one of the rides called the sizzler he wasn’t letting nobody with the vip tag go he was letting everyone on the other side go and as i approached him to talk to him only thing he could say is four ppl can go with vip tags and then he go and let everyone else go that isn’t what they told us when we bought the vip’s tags that man said it’s so they wouldn’t have to wait in line and that they would go first.so they false advertising just so you can buy the vip tag.but I will not come to this fair no more because there was to many Mexican’s and the only music they played was Spanish.and the one that was on the sizzler couldn’t speak English so why are y'all in charge of something and you can’t speak English or understand it.please y'all have to do better.but I will wait on the Alabama State Fair.and y’all need more seating areas they took over everything it was no where to sit.and next time just...
Read moreThere weren’t ticket booths where we entered, which wouldn’t have been an issue if anyone could have pointed us in their direction.
I asked 3 different vendors where the ticket booths were and no one knew.
The cocktails were grossly overpriced ($20+ for one).
Street tacos were amazing.
Rides were great but less than I expected and they were all so close to each other it.
All of the games, vendors, and rides were too close together so it felt kinda small and awkward.
We got our portraits done at the Art Stuff booth and that was legit the best part. Whole staff were amazing. They were Super talented, kind, helpful, funny and great at making you feel comfortable throughout the whole experience! 10/10 Highly recommend...
