You get one star for a comfortable bed.
First- I booked a lower level room, but we got a top floor room- so beware if you’re unable to climb stairs.
The hotel room was absolutely disgusting. And I’m sure they knew it. I called the front desk within the first minute of waking in the room and they wouldn’t even answer the call. The smell hit before anything else- the nice smell of mold, body odor, and dead body- real pleasant. If the room wasn’t non-refundable, we would have left with our money and found somewhere else. I assume al the rooms smelled bad- my daughter looked up reviews and that was the top complaint.
The comforters were not clean and one of my pillows was filthy. At least my sheets looked brilliantly cleaned underneath, but I didn’t realize that the ones on my (adult) daughter’s bed were filthy. If I’d realized that, I would have really demanded a new room. And the bed is the deal-breaker for me in all things. If I can’t be comfortable sleeping, what’s the point.
The bathroom counter looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks- it had stuff caked up on it- only in spots, but still- ew. One of our hand-towels was even dirty. So if they aren’t even changing the hand-towels….
Just don’t do it. Save your money and go somewhere else!!!! I had sinus problems all night from the moldy room (even though I was eventually nose-blind to it).
We didn’t try the breakfast, so I can’t speak to whether it was worth it or not. There were apples, waffles, and what looked like old cereal. So we went out for food. But the breakfast drinks were good.
The staff clearly did not want to hear how bad the rooms were. There was a sign to drop your room key in the basket to check out. There was no basket. Finally the woman at the counter looked at me and pulled the basket from behind the counter. I politely (seriously- it’s not her fault the hotel sucks) told her the room needed to be cleaned, the beds and towels need to be changed, the stench was unbearable- and she just acted like it was nothing. I guess that’s why you just put your key in a basket- so they don’t have to hear...

Read moreWe recently stopped at the Quality Inn in Pelham on our way to Florida for family vacation. Loved it so much that we stopped again on the way back home. This is going to be our new half way stop spot.
Great area, both safe and extremely convenient. The rooms are well maintained by housekeeping staff and cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was perfect, other than being a bit overcrowded, but we just took our breakfast into the lobby sitting area and chit chatted with staff and fellow guests.
The staff here is really exceptional! 5 stars all the way just for all of their hospitality and southern warmth. Donna, the HK super is very thorough and always super busy, but never too busy to stop and make sure that we have everything we need. Both Rita and Crystal checked us in the evening of our first arrival and they both checked us out while also running breakfast like a bunch of pros! They are truly a great team with lots of personality! Tilman the manager was very welcoming with his help and information that he provided on our second stay at check in and Victoria was pleasant the morning of checkout and went out of her way to make us some “road coffee”.
The rooms are decently priced especially compared to a few other hotels in the area that we had looked into.
The only thing I’d change about this Quality Inn, are making the breakfast area bigger and changing the older style artwork in the room and then replacing the “ugly” bedspreads with something more modern (but they did mention that there was an upcoming remodel in the near future).
GREAT STAY 100%! Thanks so much Donna, Crystal, Rita, Tilman & Victoria for welcoming us warmly. We will defiantly see you guys on...
