This place has really gone downhill over the past couple years. The food lacks in flavor and seems to always have something missing or wrong. While visiting recently, I ordered a top shelf margarita with patron. The waitress came back to tell me that top shelf is José Cuervo and that they would have to charge me more for patron. NEVER in my life has a top shelf marg been made with José Cuervo but I said ok. (I mean why not pay even more than the top shelf price, to have a top shelf tequila in my drink?) What they brought me was a margarita made with cheap tequila. I don’t drink often but when I do I only drink patron. It has a distinct flavor that I enjoy. They told me I was wrong when I asked for one made with patron. Then they brought out the same drink only this time I could taste that they had added a small amount of patron to the drink but it still had the cheap tequila in it. I wasn’t going to complain any further so we just kind of laughed it off and I just didn’t drink it. We still paid for it though. The next issue was my daughters food. She ordered a taco salad with beans and no meat. They brought her a taco salad shell with beans and guacamole only. My husband went and asked if we could get a side of lettuce for her salad. When they brought it, the man told her that there was lettuce in the shell. When she said there wasn’t, he told her “yes there is”…like she was lying. So she scooped the beans to the side to show him and then he apologized. We aren’t terrible diners and very seldomly do we complain, but this was an experience that we didn’t appreciate. We still tipped well and said thank you but we will not be returning to this establishment. It’s sad because it used to...

My mom and I came here for lunch, wanting to try a new Mexican food spot outside of the one in our hometown, so we stopped here. Off rip, we were barely greeted with not even a “hi” or “hello”, but simply “How many?”, which would’ve been mildly understandable if they were extremely busy, but they were not. Our waitress was extremely dismissive to us, barely spoke, and acted like she couldn’t be bothered. She never came back and checked on us, got us refills, or anything. We were so irritated at this point we considered up and leaving before we even actually order any food and just paying for the drinks and queso (which we had to ask for even though she offered it to other tables). But the real kicker was she made complete and genuine efforts for the table behind us, who weren’t black, including taking their order before us even though we were seated several minutes before them and getting their food out to them before us, which was lackluster. My mom’s food was was lazily plated, as if they just threw it on the plate and washed their hands of it. At this point, my mom and I were so over it, we just wanted to get the check and leave, but it took almost 10 minutes for anyone to come back and check on us so we could even get the check. I’m usually not the type to leave reviews, especially as I’ve worked in food service myself and know how stressful it can be, but this was just a display of carelessness, unprofessionalism, and blatantly discriminatory behavior. If you’re looking for good Mexican food and a nice experience, this is...

well All I can say is that I came to 2 pesos to eat with my family, the first thing they did take so long to get our food plus our food was so cold that we have to ask the waiter if they give our Tortilla heated up or something but then she look so mad because we asked and then she brings backs cold tortilla again so we just left it alone, our food we asked for extra something, then they gave us less, then the stake was a so hard that I couldn't chew on it and then, mom had something else like tacos shrimp and they chargerd us extra shrimp that we didn't even ask for and we asked for a extra plate and she took so long to give us a plate and there was only Luke 3 people who was eating there like,t hen she kept talking so rude but when she goes to another table and then she never checked on us if we wanted anything we has no more drinks anymore nor chips and then they gave us the price thingy and she saw us talking about it and she gave us a mean look because of the look ad she told us that is cost like that bc the things we asked like extra things even tho we didn't ask nothing as much only chorizo and Chesse. And this point we are done going to this place we used to love it now we never...

Food pretty darned good and service was also. I love bacon wrapped grilled shrimp. Ordered them and they were just grilled without bacon or cheese and jalapeno, tossed on a platter. Disappointing. They need to fix the menu description. ALAMBRE A LA MEXICANA $ 18.95 Kabobs choice : sirloin or shrimp, wrapped in bacon, and vegetables, topped with chorizo, melted cheese The food was really good. Just not what was promised. The salsa was fair, the queso was really good with great flavor unlike most and the rice had a smoky flavor that was unexpected and really good. Beans just OK. Some charro beans would have complemented the rest of the dish really well.

Even though we live close by, we never think about eating at 2 Pesos. We didn't want to drive to our normal Mexican restaurant, so we chose to dine outside at 2 Pesos. It was a bit early for the regular dinner crowd so we were seated promptly. Our drinks and dinner came quickly. Overall, we were satisfied except for the ground beef in the tacos. It had a strange taste. However, the quesadilla, tamale, and my grandson's grilled cheese was very good. The chips (very thin and crispy) and salsa were perfect. There are area Mexican restaurants that are better but there are many, many more that are far worse.

Based on Yelp reviews alone, we stopped at 2 Pesos for dinner and, THANK YOU to my fellow reviewers for leading us to another great a beef enchilada though I ordered cheese instead and asked for cheese topping instead of the red sauce. Another photo is of the 2 Pesos salad with grilled chicken and it was great: the chicken was plentiful and grilled perfectly. Probably the most raved about dinner is the one no one could pronounce but it's pictured and hopefully a 2 Pesos employee will identify it for all of us.
