Went to order 2 double cheeseburgers, cheese only. When we got to the window, after waiting about 10 minutes he brings 2 singles with everything on them. Clearly a mistake, we correct him, so after another probably 20 minutes (I watched a whole video while I waited) he brings out two new burgers. The first one is right, but has lettuce. No big deal, second one has EVERYTHING on it. I get lightheaded when I am unable to eat for any extended period and it increases risk for seizures, so I really do not enjoy having to go to bed hungry, if I even get to sleep. It's too late to go out and get something else, especially after already having paid for the wrongly made food. I am beyond livid as he read the order 2 times before we even left the ordering screen, then after being corrected still managed to make a mistake that large. A trained dog can do the job better, and it would help if the majority of the staff wasn't outside smoking cigarettes on the other side of the building. Waited at least 25 minutes after having placed the order just to still go to bed hungry. I do not reccomend this location to anyone, and would rather you go to the local Arby's, Sonic, Zaxbys, Cracker Barrel, or literally even McDonald's. I probably would have ate the burger if the tomato slice on it didn't look off, it is more squishy than any tomatoes I've ever seen and awful watery. Also it's got a fairly dark coloration and I just don't feel safe eating food that touched potentially rotten tomato. It's honestly shocking that all the places around it have lower ratings but infinitely better food, customer service, and more customers. I have never had as many issues with a restaurant as with this Whataburger location, and honestly it makes the entire...
Read moreI would say the food was 3.5 stars. I heard how great the burger was, and the ingredients were very good but it lacked much flavor. The real downer about the dining experience was that it took 35 minutes to get our food. At the 30 minute mark my son asked for his money back and we would get food else where. The young black lady who waited on us was a delight to deal with and her excellent efforts to help ALL the customers was both inspirational and appreciated. She told us they are brining your order up now. It took an additional 5 minutes to get the food in our hands. She saw the look on my sons face was one of frustration and disappointment. She gave my son half of a hug, a sad face, and said I am sorry for your wait. SHE is the only reason we would try a Whataburger experience again. She had the ability to connect with every person who walked in the door. She never got excited, took orders, wiped up the counter area tops, delivered food to customers, asked customers if they needed anything else. She was a ball of fire, dedicated to excellence, people skills, she had it all. Unlike what we saw out of the other workers we watched in our 35 minute wait. They moved like they were in slow motion and not in a hurry to do anything. As an operations manager for a rising national business that young black order taker was a shining gem among a cast of participants. Thank you for the opportunity to share our bad experience at your eatery and the opportunity to meet an unlikely hero who would be an inspiration in my teaching others customer or...
Read moreI just want to preface this review by stating that I never take the time to write reviews. I’ve probably only done this a few times in my life. I hope that provides some insight into how furious I am.
My girlfriend worked here for a while, and after dealing with a consistently terrible work environment, she began looking for other employment. When she got another job offer she was told not to come back rather than being allowed to provide a two week notice and continue working until transitioning to her new place of employment. In those last conversations multiple employees screamed and cursed at her for not arriving on time that day, after they changed her schedule to an earlier starting time at the last minute without duly notifying her. Further more, this was weeks ago and after multiple attempts to receive her last two paychecks, with the outcome just being blown off repeatedly, she finally got somewhere. That somewhere is paperwork she has to fill out and send to corporate to request her paycheck instead of simply being paid in a timely, legal, and ethical manner. This is unacceptable behavior from this establishment.
As someone who runs a company with nine employees, I am appalled at how dismally this location operates. I am not surprised at all that this company cannot hire or retain employees. If her deserved wages are not paid, we will be filing a complaint with the Alabama...
