It's a nice park, with lots of HUGE old growth Live Oaks, and one Baobab Tree that is as old as the ones down near Edison's Winter House in Fort Myers..... unlike alot of the local ancient Baobab Trees, this one is not fenced off, and you can meander thru the center of the old stumps on a path that leads to the other side. I saw a mother and her 3 to 4 year old daughter swinging off the vines that hang from the tree (probably not a recommended pass time, but they were havin' a ball in Tarzan like fashion, so who the Hell cares) The park is maintained well, and the grass and grounds kept trimmed... The St. Pete Police keep a good patrol around it, and there doesn't seem to be the homeless and prostitute problems mentioned previously..... there are 4,700 homeless people in St. Pete as I write this today, so where in town are you "not" going to be around them? 95% of them, are not a problem anyhow..... they keep to themselves; some "pan-handle", but not many that I've seen. By the Grace of God, my friend.....that could be you or me..... bring a part of a loaf of bread, by the way, as there are some HUMONGOUS Tilapia that hang out down by the overflow spillway pipe, and a couple of MONSTER Turtles that will come out also. Most of the dog owners that I've seen that come there, clean up after their pets.....and keep them on leashes..... it's a great place to bring your canine friends. This park is very shaded, and a pleasure to take a stroll around. Come...

We agreed 👍 I called family services, they came quickly and took him for shelter and hopes of a future,, the birds and ducks cheered as I rode away,, PS, this is the first time I have ever seen this at this location, as I lived in the 5 story building across the street from there for 5 years...items a great place to relax or feed the ducks... I guess my heart is bigger than my...
Read moreLove this park environment and location. But there are a few issues that always reoccurred. There have not once been doggie bags in the holders so there are big piles of dig poop around. They do get cleaned up with the landscaping which is very well cared for. I understand all homeless need a place to rest and rejuvenate bit it gets beyond that at this park. Sometimes when I walk my dog there is a homeless man on every single bench. There are clothes and shoes left often. I walk my dog here but I would never actually go sit down to relax. They city needs to step it up here. It has so...
