What an absolutely cool venue, ran by absolutely amazing people :) So much more interesting than I ever expected. I think any act here that is chosen by the director of the theater, Paul, will be extremely impressive!! The people that run the theater really put their heart and soul into into handpicking acts that perform here. Huge thank you to them :) I was there for Halloween which was Luchaween, with the most extraordinary band, La Lucha. The performance was so dynamic and intense and it was very top level output. I spoke with each band member afterwards and they were all so amazingly down-to-earth, especially being for so incredibly talented. They informed me that they had practiced this performance for 3 years, and they got with Paul and discussed how they actually wanted to portray the show and how they wanted it received and how they wanted to perform it for an audience. It was absolutely outstanding!! That night was my introduction to the Palladium and all of the people involved with it. I am Thrilled to have discovered it! They may not be aware, but this Ripple of energy they're putting out into the world from this theater resonates so much farther and wider into its surroundings into the hearts and souls of the people that attend. Thank you Thank you Thank You!! So wonderful to be moved by the performances here, I am...
Read moreVery interesting theater. It's a converted church so it has some really beautiful architecture and a unique feeling. It's a smaller theatre so performances are more intimate for both the performers and the audience. I've been both.
As an audience member the best thing is how intimate the setting is, even balcony seats don't feel too far from the stage. The theatre is clean and well taken care of. It is older so it does have a historical feel. And I've never had any problems with any of the staff. There are a few things to know; the seats themselves are a little hard and they don't angle up fast enough so sometimes people can block part of your view. And the parking lot is smaller so get there early if you want to park there a not somewhere else. (If it's full quickly cross to the other side of the street and there's some additional parking right before the light!)
As a performer the dressing rooms are small but well maintained. There's a bigger area on the lower level for a bigger group if needed. The stage is very comfortable to perform on, with both lighting and size. I honestly loved everytime we came here. I guess the only thing is that sound travels really well from backstage because of the brick. Which was also slippery in pointe and tap shoes, especially when exiting the stage one side and running around back to enter on the...
Read moreThis Google review is supposed to be for Doc Ford's restaurant located on the Beach area . Somehow it got put here with the Palladium ? LOL no way of changing the location tagging edit . They have one very good manager, Cody. I give them five stars . Because of the atmosphere, venue, setting, and their great one pound bowl of boiled shrimp. Tonight they had a live guitar playing entertainment, he's on the lower deck . They've been very busy. Make sure you make reservations or see the hostess or to get decent seats or tables. You can't just walk in and sit for the most part. Although it looks like that kind of relaxed cool place. Orders take long tome before your table gets served. Tonight the orders were all mixed up. Not only ours. But people around us. One person at our bar seat table didn't get his dinner while the other four did. My shrimp came out to be different than the cold boiled shrimp ordered. I specifically said I didn't want drawn butter I wanted melted butter like used on bread. However I got drawn butter. Well tonight seem to be the exception because they are very popular? But again Manager Cody help...
