For our last day of our San Diego trip, we stumbled into here. We were looking for a spot to catch the NBA playoffs and originally The Duck Dive caught our eye because it was packed. Luckily, we couldn't get a table there so we walked a little further and found this gem. Now, on to the good stuff.
Atmosphere: All windows outdoor feel to this place. It's definitely somewhere you can chill for some time. They don't have that many TVs but enough for you to still watch the game. You seat yourself and a server is with you shortly.
Drinks: Sometimes you just know the drinks are going to be good when you look at a menu. This is one of those times. The drink list is extensive and fun. The mules looked the best so I had the Mississippi Mule. Refreshing fosho.
Food:
Apps: Kiwi 3'Some HAHA. A trio of onion rings, fries, and calamari. Some of the best calamari I've had. They have a bunch of different aioli sauces. Definitely grab that for the side of your fries.
Main:
My friend and I got Bare Lil Lamb and Dirty Jerz to split. Off the bat, both these were great. They had a very different taste to it. It wasn't your normal burger or chicken sandwich with some sauce. It was truly a creation.
The Lamb burger was on the sweet side. It must've been because of the sweet tomato chutney. It was great the way it was but I couldn't have the whole burger. If i wasn't splitting, I'd be unhappy with the choice because I typically don't like sweet food. For example, I'd have a bite of a pancake and be happy. I can never order pancakes for my meal. So I caution you if you're like me before to order that Lamb burger by yourself. The Lamb itself was delicious so if they allow you to customize, make your own with Lamb!
Dirty Jerz - Sweet and spicy and definitely more my type of vibe. I could eat this whole sandwich happily.
I'm sure there are other more spicy sandwiches than the ones we picked. Ask your server, they'll be glad to help. Everyone is so nice...
Read moreIf I could give a -5 for service I would! This waitress was so bad and so unprofessional. First of all there was no one in the restaurant and still I had to get up after awhile to get my own menu. Secondly and mainly, I can’t do gluten. I ordered one of the burgers and substituted a gluten free bun. She seemed to be conscious and typed it all in. The food was good. After she came back to go d me the check I saw there was no mention or charge for the gluten free bun. I asked her as I started to realize it probably going to get sick soon…she said she totally forgot to put the gluten free bun on there and I had eaten a regular bun. I had to say I was extremely pissed and could not believe that she messed this simple yet extremely important detail that affects peoples health. She told me she’d go talk to the manager but instead went to go talk to a table for awhile. I left and ran home to get special enzymes that help with this situation. Dealt with pain and headaches for hours. Seriously so pissed I’d never go back and this waitress...
Read moreThe enviroment was nice. Our waitress was doing a good job, until she heard her shift was over. She transfered us without letting us know, or asking us how we wanted out check. We were sitting there looking for her, then realized she was out on the patio drinking all her stuff with her. Hailed a new waiter, asked for the check. He had it all ready from previous waitress. She didnt even ask us if we wanted too split the bill considering their were five of us. Left it for our new server, who had one hell of a time splitting it up, especially when we realized, half our drink orders werent on the tab. Dont worry we corrected that. As for the food, the "fish" and chips were lacking. Massive pile of fries with two lumps of bread on top, oh wait theres fish in there??? Never would have guessed. By the end i had a plate full of fries and breading, and had maybe 4 bites of actual fish. This was the same for another patrone at our table, who got it as well. It kinda became a joke between us. Everyone else got fries and drinks, cant really mess...
