I've delayed writing a review for a long time, because generally I don't find it very valuable to leave negative feedback. However I was treated so terribly by the manager of this establishment, that I vowed to never go back. It was beyond unacceptable, so I feel as though others should understand this when considering where to show patronage. There are so many great local spots in San Diego to consider.
I ordered ~$120 dollars wings for the Superbowl for a party. I ordered them and paid roughly a week in advance. I scheduled to pick them up about 1.5 hours in advance to be safe. I figured it would be busy, and wanted to give them some buffer. I showed up on time, and there was already a crowd waiting which made me nervous. I gave them my order number and asked when my food would be available. The manager went to check and came back and said they were working on it. Maybe 5-10 minutes. No big deal, I don't mind waiting and understand it was busy. After about 20 minutes I started to get nervous. I heard the manager tell multiple people waiting for food 5 minutes repeatedly. I checked again with him. I said hey I just need an honest answer, I have a party to go to and they are expecting food. He confirmed they are working on my order. I waited another 15-20 minutes before checking with him again. Now i was admittedly pretty frustrated. I had been there for 40 minutes and I was now going to be late.
I again asked if he knew what was going on with my order. He then said it would be another 20 minutes. I asked if he ACTUALLY knew where my order was, and if he could check the order number again. He then admitted he had no idea where my order was, or a bunch of the other customer's orders were. At this point I asked for my money back. He told me that because I paid a week in advance there was nothing he could do, and that I would need to call my bank. I need to emphasize here, his tone was incredibly aggressive and rude at this point. And that is completely unacceptable. I had the card I paid with, and I asked for a refund. He ignored me and walked away.
Finally he came back, and I firmly asked for either my food or cash. After a very rude exchange he came back cash and threw it on the bar. I left in complete disgust as many other angry customers waited for food that may never come. I was there well over an hour. I ended up missing half of the first quarter of the superbowl, was late to my party, and showed up empty handed. If it was a mistake I would have just appreciated them being honest and straightforward about. Easily the worst customer service experience I've ever had.
The response below is an attempt to discredit my post. It was for a past superbowl and it...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times, all on 55 cent wing Tuesdays. I've always somehow ordered the grossest wing flavors on the menu but finally got my order right and can safely say that this is one of the better wing places in SD.
Ambience: very crowded, but at least it's not as dirty as Bubs. It's also very small meaning you'll have to wait a while. Good amount of Tvs and lots of sports memorabilia. But home of the ravens? Random and gross. Nobody likes the ravens. I accidentally drafted Ray Rice in the first round of fantasy last year and he sucked.
We went around 9 and waited hella long like half an hour. By the time we left it was already 11. If you're looking for a wings and beer place looking to get tipsy then this is the place for you, but we just wanted wings so sucks for us.
Ninja: amazing. My girlfriend and I shared 10 of these and couldn't be happier. A little bit spicy but a lot bit yummy. 5/5
PMP warrior wings: to me tasted like a spicier version of the ninja, but still good. Made me sweat and we had to ask a couple times for a decent supply of napkins. 4/5
Garlic parm: a classic flavor. I think in the past these aren't that good when we ordered then but today was perfectly crispy and cheesy. 4/5
Dirty ranch is not that great and do not order the enchilada wings. They were super gross and made me sad when I ordered it last time as they wasted my precious tummy real estate.
Great place to drink and get wings if you...
Read moreLet me start by saying I visited this place twice during my vacation. The first time we went was because it was down the street from our hotel. I ordered the fish and chips. The waitress informed me that the fish was frozen but I still had it anyway bc I was craving. It was decent, what I expected being frozen. The fries were delicious. My girlfriend had a burger and mac and cheese. She got sick an hour later. She suspects from the mac and cheese. Our next visit was a couple days later on a Tuesday. We went specifically for the half off wings. We had four flavors. The first was buffalo. They were decent, no spice and were dry. The second was sweet chili. These were very good and had lots of flavor. The third were honey hot. Not hot and very little honey flavor. And our fourth selection was jerk. We both hadn't had it before and wanted to try something different. Not for us. We ordered 30 total bc we wanted to try different flavors and enjoy the flavors we usually like. We made it through 23 of them and asked for a to go box. We were informed they don't give them for the "half off wings" And that we couldn't take them with us. I then noticed that a disclaimer is posted on a separate menu. I had to force myself to finish the wings that I paid for but couldn't take with me or they'd just trash them. Sounds like a waste of money...
